Dan-16 yn 4 olaf y Gogledd / U-16s in Northern Semi

Academi / Academy Llongyfarchiadau i hogiau’r Academi Dan-16 sydd wedi cyrraedd rownd cynderfynol y gogledd o Gwpan Academïau Cymru. Cwblhawyd y rhaglen gynghrair gyda buddugoliaeth o 7-1 yn y Drenewydd. Eu record rhagorol am y tymor ydy 12 buddugoliaeth, un gêm gyfartal a colli ond un gêm. Bydd rhaid aros i glywed pwy fydd eu gwrthwynebwyr yn y rownd cynderfynol. Mae hyn yn gamp rhagorol yn erbyn academïau Uwch Gynghrair Cymru sydd yn derbyn £18,000 yn flynyddol tra fod academïau tu allan i UGC yn derbyn yr un dimau goch. Siawns fod yr amser wedi dod i’r Gymdeithas Bêl-droed ddechrau gwobrwyo llwyddiant.
Wedi tymor anodd o frwydro’n galed a cadw at y dasg drwy gydol yr amser, gorffennodd y tîm Dan-12 eu tymor mewn steil gyda buddugoliaeth o 7-2 yn y Drenewydd.

Congratulations to the Academy U-16s who have reached the northern semi-finals of the Welsh Academies Cup. They completed their league fixtures with a 7-1 victory at Newtown last Sunday. Their outstanding record reads 12 wins, one draw and shows only one defeat. They now wait to hear their semi-final opponents. This is an outstanding achievement against WPL academies who are financed to the tune of £18,000 annually whereas Academies below that level receive absolutely nothing. Is it not time for the FAW to consider some form of payment by results?
After a tough season where they have stuck to their task throughout the U-12 youngsters ended their season in some style with a 7-2 victory over Newtown.

Caersws nos Iau / Caersws on Thursday

Bydd Port yn teithio i Gaersws nos Iau nesaf (04/04/13) ar gyfer y gêm gynghrair sydd wedi’i adrefnu. Roedd Caersws yn chwarae eu gêm gyntaf ers tipyn heddiw (30/03/13). Y gêm yn gyfartal 1-1 adref yn erbyn Bwcle, gyda prif sgoriwr y gynghrair Mark Griffiths yn rhwydo i Gaersws yn y funud gyntaf.

Port will travel to Caersws on Thursday (04/04/13) for the rearranged league fixture. Caersws were in action for the first time for a while this afternoon, drawing at home to Buckley with, the league’s leading scorer Mark Griffiths netting in the first minute for Caersws.

Rhyd wedi gohirio / Rhyd off again

Gyda eira yn gorwedd ar y cae a’r tymheredd yn dal yn isel, does fawr o syndod clywed fod y gêm yn Rhydymwyn yfory (30/03/13) wedi’i gohirio.
Adrefnwyd y gêm yng Nghaersws at nos Iau nesaf (04/04/13) i ddechrau am 7.30pm.

Unsurprisingly with lying snow and low temperatures the game against Rhydymwyn for tomorrow (30/03/13) has been postponed.
The game at Caersws has been rearranged for Thursday (04/04/13) at 7.30pm.

Jyglo diwedd tymor i Gareth / End of season juggling for Gareth

Graham Boylan Mae gohiriadau diweddar wedi achosi tipyn o strach i’r rheolwr Gareth Parry. Wrth i dymor Port gael eu hymestyn bydd rhaid iddo wneud heb rhai chwaraewyr yr oedd eisoes wedi cytuno i’w rhyddhau yn ôl i’w clybiau blaenorol, gan fod gymaint o gemau’n weddill ganddynt.
Golyga hyn fod Rhys T Roberts, Gruff Williams a Dan Pyrs yn dychwelyd i Llanrug ac yr un fath Paul Lewis i’r Bermo. Bydd Aaron Roberts –Evans, y chwaraewr ifanc a ymunodd o Tamworth, yn treulio gweddill y tymor gyda’i glwb lleol Llanystumdwy. Dywedodd Gareth Parry, “Gan mai dim ond dwy gêm sydd gennym yn weddill bydd hyn yn rhoi amser ar y cae i chwaraewr ifanc sy’n datblygu. Yr un fath sy’n wir am Gruff John a gafodd anaf drwg ar droad y flwyddyn, a bydd cael nifer dda o gemau cyn ddiwedd y tymor yn golygu ei fod yn dychwelyd i Port yn ffit ac yn barod am y tymor nesaf.”
Bydd rhaid i Port fod heb chwaraewr y tymor Graham Boylan sydd yn mynd i ymuno â Treffynnon am y bymtheg gêm sydd ganddynt yn weddill cyn ddiwedd y tymor.
Meddai Gareth Parry, “Bu’n fater o geisio cydbwysedd a gweld pa chwaraewyr medrwn rhyddhau tra'n gofalu fod gennym chwaraewyr at bob safle am y ddwy gêm sy’n weddill. Teimlaf fod y garfan fach sydd gennym yn mynd i fod ddigon cystadleuol dros y ddwy gêm. Dwi wedi arwyddo Viv Williams –ie’r cyn rheolwr uchel ei barch- jyst rhag ofn.”
Gall cefnogwyr sydd wedi’u plesio gyda’r rhediad diweddar ymlacio gan fod disgwyl i’r garfan llawn fod yn ôl ar y Traeth erbyn y tymor nesaf!

The fixture postponements of recent weeks, creates something of a juggling problem for manager Gareth Parry. The extension to Port’s season means that he will have to do without some players whom he had previously agreed could return to former clubs for the large number of games remaining.
This means that Rhys T. Roberts, Gruff Williams and Dan Pyrs will return to Llanrug United and Paul Lewis likewise to Barmouth. Aaron Roberts-Evans, a young player who joined from Tamworth, will spend the remainder of the season with his local club, Llanystumdwy. Commented Gareth Parry, “This will give a developing young player valuable game time seeing as we only have two games remaining and much the same applies to Gruff John who had a nasty injury at the turn of the year and will have more game time and return fit for pre-season.”
Port will also have to be without Graham Boylan, whose undoubted commitment earned him player of the season award. Graham will join Holywell Town -who have 15 games remaining- for the rest of the season.
Gareth Parry said, “It has been something of a balancing act working out what players we can release whilst still having sufficient cover for just the two remaining games. But I believe that the players we have available will form a competitive team over these two games. I have also signed Viv Williams -yes our former highly respected manager- as emergency cover.”
Supporters who have been pleased with the good end of season run can however relax as the full squad is expected to return for next season!

Gêm Rhydymwyn pnawn Sadwrn / Rhydymwyn game on Saturday

Adrefnwyd y gêm yn Rhydymwyn ar gyfer pnawn Sadwrn, 30 Mawrth gyda’r gic gyntaf am 1.30pm. Ond mae cyfri Twitter Rhydymwyn yn dal i ddangos eira ar y cae, felly cadwch olwg am y newyddion diweddaraf.

The game at Rhydymwyn has been rearranged for this Saturday, 30 March with an early kick off at 1.30pm. The Rhydymwyn Twitter account is however still showing snow on the ground so watch out for updates.

Golwg ar y Gynghrair Ail Dimau / A Look at the Reserve League

Cynghrair Clwyd / Clwyd League Mae Bwrdd y Clwb eisoes wedi cadarnhau y bydd gan CPD Porthmadog Ail Dîm at y tymor nesaf, a hynny am y tro cyntaf ers 2009/10. Bydd yr ail dîm hwnnw yn cael ei reoli gan Neil Roberts ac yn chwarae yn Uwch Gynghrair Ail Dimau Gogledd Cymru. Mae’r gynghrair hon yn cynnwys 11 o glybiau, rhai o ail dimau clybiau UGC sef Bangor, Prestatyn a Cei Conna, clybiau Huws Gray sef Rhyl, Llandudno, Fflint a Chonwy a hefyd clybiau uchelgeisiol o’r Welsh Alliance fel Caernarfon a Dinbych.
Mae’r gynghrair yn ei pedwerydd tymor gyda Fflint, Prestatyn a Cei Conna yn gyn enillwyr y gynghrair. Dinbych sydd yn arwain y gynghrair ar hyn o bryd.
Mae gan y mwyafrif o glybiau yn y gynghrair hon oleuadau ac felly bydd yn bosib chwarae rhai o’r gemau yng nghanol wythnos. Gall hyn hwyluso gwaith Gareth Parry fel rheolwr, ac yn gyfle i chwaraewyr sydd wedi bod ar y fainc i’r tîm cyntaf neu yn dod yn ôl o anaf i gael amser ar y cae. Bydd y gemau hefyd yn cael eu chwarae ar gaeau da a hyn yn bendant yn gymorth wrth ddatblygu sgiliau’r chwaraewyr ifanc.
Am fwy o wybodaeth am Uwch Gynghrair Ail Dimau Gogledd Cymru ewch i:
http://clwydfootballleague.co.uk/reserve_premier_league_page.htm

The Board have already confirmed that there will be a Porthmadog FC reserve team for next season and this for the first time since season 2009/10. It will be managed by Neil Roberts and will play in the North Wales Reserve Premier League. This league currently has 11 clubs. It includes the reserves of WPL clubs; Bangor City, Prestatyn and Connah’s Quay Nomads, Huws Gray clubs; Rhyl, Conwy, Llandudno and Flint and ambitious Welsh Alliance clubs like Caernarfon and Denbigh.
This league is in its fourth season and Flint, Prestatyn and Connah’s Quay are previous league winners. Currently Denbigh are leading the league.
This move is good news for manager Gareth Parry who will be able to further boost the reserves with players from the first team who are returning from injury or those who have been waiting their opportunity on the bench. With most clubs in this league having floodlights it means that some fixtures can be arranged for midweek. It can also be seen from the quality of the clubs involved that the games will be played on good pitches which is conducive to developing young players.

Gohirio’r gêm yn Rhydymwyn / Game OFF at Rhydymwyn

Gohiriwyd y gêm a oedd i’w chwarae yfory (23 Mawrth) yn Rhydymwyn. Hyn yn dilyn yr eira trwm sydd wedi disgyn yn y gogledd ddwyrain heddiw.

Tomorrow’s game at Rhydymwyn (23 March) has been postponed. This follows the heavy snow which has fallen in north east Wales today.
21/03/13
Dechrau cynnar yn Rhydymwyn /Early start at Rhydymwyn

Rhydymwyn Bydd y gic gyntaf am 1.30pm pan fydd Port yn ymweld â Rhydymwyn ddydd Sadwrn. Y disgwyl oedd mae hon fyddai gêm olaf y tymor ond gyda gohirio’r gêm yng Nghaersws fydd yna un gêm arall yn ein haros cyn ddiwedd tymor 2012/13. Er fod rhediad 7 gêm yn ddiguro wedi mynd â Port i ddiogelwch canol y tabl mae Rhydymwyn yn dal yn y frwydr i osgoi disgyn. Tri phwynt sydd rhyngddynt a Phenycae sydd yn y trydydd safle o’r gwaelod ac felly fydd y clwb o Sir Fflint yn brwydro am y pwyntiau ddydd Sadwrn gan gwneud pob ymdrech i ddod a rhediad Port i ben.
Y tro diwethaf i’r ddau gyfarfod oedd ar y Traeth lle cafwyd gêm gyfartal 3-3 gyda Rhydymwyn yn dod yn ôl dair gwaith i rannu’r pwyntiau. Yn ôl gyda Rhydymwyn mae’r ymosodwr peryglus Daniel Drazdaukas. Ar ôl cychwyn y tymor ar dân arwyddodd i’r Rhyl ond bellach mae yn ôl -ac yn sgorio- gan ddod a’i gyfanswm am y tymor i 15 hyd yma. Bydd Paul Lewis ar gael i Port wedi gwaharddiad o un gêm. Gobeithiwn am well tywydd na’r hyn sy’n cael ei ddarogan!

There will be a 1.30pm kick off when –weather permitting- Port travel to Rhydymwyn on Saturday. This was to have been the final game of the season but with the postponement at Caersws it now becomes the penultimate game of the 2012/13 season. Though the unbeaten 7 game run has taken Port into the safety of the comfort zone, Rhydymwyn remain involved in the relegation battle. Three points above Penycae in the third relegation spot, the Flintshire club will have everything to play for and so we will no doubt have a battle on our hands to stretch the run further.
The last time the two clubs met at the Traeth it ended all square at 3-3 with Rhydymwyn coming from behind three times to share the points. Back at the club now is dangerman Daniel Drazdaukas whose early season goal scoring led to a move to Rhyl but, after failing to secure a regular place, is now back at Rhydymwyn and also back in the goals with 15 so far. Paul Lewis for Port will be available after his one match suspension.

Dyddiad newydd / New Date

Symudwyd yn gyflym i adrefnu’r gêm yng Nghaersws. Bydd y gêm yn cael ei chwarae ar nos Fercher, 27 Mawrth. Hon felly fydd gêm olaf y tymor i Port.

A quick move has been made to rearrange the game at Caersws. It will now take place on Wednesday, 27 March. This now will be Port’s last game of the season.

Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth / SRtRC visit the Traeth

Daeth yr Elusen Addysgiadol gwrth hiliol ‘Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth’ i Borthmadog ar yr 18 Mawrth ar gyfer digwyddiad a gafodd ei noddi gan y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed, Y Lotri Fawr a Llywodraeth Cymru. Daeth disgyblion Ysgol Borth-y-Gest a Gwaun Gwynfi i’r Traeth am y diwrnod i ddysgu am hiliaeth. Arweiniodd Chris Stokes weithdy i’r bobl ifanc a gymrodd rhan mewn gweithgareddau rhyngweithiol i ddysgu beth a olygir gan hiliaeth a pwy mae’n effeithio.
Roedd y plant yn weithgar drwy’r dydd yn trafod ac yn defnyddio modelau rôl o chwaraeon amrywiol am y ffordd mae hiliaeth yn effeithio bywydau pobl. Yn dilyn gwylio’r DVD addysgol roedd y disgyblion yn chwarae rôl mewn cynhadledd gyfryngol yn y clwb ac yn cael cyfle i holi cwestiynau mewn cynhadledd i’r wasg ynglyn a hiliaeth mewn pêl-droed a’r Gymdeithas.
Drwy’r dydd bu’r disgyblion yn cadw nodiadau i’w defnyddio wrth ysgrifennu erthyglau yn ôl yn eu hysgolion. Roedd yna wobr i’r disgybl a ofynnodd y cwestiwn gorau yn ystod y dydd a bydd yna wobr gan y clwb am yr erthygl orau.
Diolchir i’r ysgolion am ddod i’r gweithdy ac i’r clwb am gefnogi’r digwyddiad.

Digwyddiad ar y Traeth / Traeth Event

The Anti-Racism Educational Charity, ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ visited Porthmadog FC on 18 March for an event sponsored by the FAW, The Big Lottery and the Welsh Government. It was the 21st event of the season.
Young people from Ysgol Borth-y-Gest and Ysgol Gwaun Gwynfi visited the Traeth for the day to learn about racism. Education officer Chris Stokes provided a workshop for the young people who took part in interactive activities learning about what racism is and who can be affected by it.
The pupils were engaged throughout the day in discussion based activities using role models across many sports, to educate them about how racism can impact on people’s lives. After watching the educational DVD the pupils took part in a role play media conference at the club and had the opportunity to ask questions during the press conference about racism in football and Society.
Throughout the day the pupils took the opportunity to take down noted to use in their articles which they will write when back at school after the event. The best asked questions won SRtRC goodie bags and the winner of the best written article will receive a prize from the club.
We would like to thank schools for attending and the club for supporting the event.

Gêm caersws wedi'i gohirio / Caersws match called off

Caersws Mae’r gêm oedd fod i gael ei chwarae heno yng Nghaersws wedi cael ei gohirio gan fod gormod o ddŵr ar y cae. Mae’n eithaf posibl y bydd hyn yn golygu bod yn rhaid ymestyn tymor Port a oedd fod i orffen ddydd Sadwrn gydag ymweliad i Rhydymwyn. Ni fydd tymor nifer o glybiau yn dod i ben am bedair wythnos arall.

Tonight’s match away at Caersws has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch. It’s now quite possible that Port’s season will have to be extended. It was due to end on Saturday with a visit to Rhydymwyn. The season for many of the league’s clubs will not come to an end for a further four weeks.
18/03/13
Cychwyn cynnar ddydd Sadwrn / 1.30pm start at Rhydymwyn

Bydd y gic gyntaf yng ngêm olaf y tymor yn Rhydymwyn pnawn Sadwrn am 1.30pm.

Supporters should note that there will be a 1.30pm kick off at Rhydymwyn on Saturday for the final game of the season.

Nos FAWRTH i Gaersws / TUESDAY night in Caersws

Caersws Bydd Port yn teithio i Gaersws nos Fawrth am y gêm olaf ond un o’r tymor. Ar ôl y ddau berfformiad diwethaf gan y clwb o’r canolbarth dylai rhybudd iechyd gael ei roi cyn mynd ymlaen â’r ymweliad. Yn gwbl ddiseremoni taflwyd dau o wrthwynebwyr diweddar Port o’r neilltu. Pnawn Sadwrn curwyd Penycae o 7-1 wythnos yn unig ar ôl sgorio wyth i rhwyd Rhuthun. Dyna ichi’r ffordd orau o anghofio rhediad lle collwyd 4 gêm yn olynol.
Dros y ddwy gêm sgoriodd Mark Griffiths 7 gôl, Adam Jenkins 5 a Graham Evans a dwy o ganol cae. Bydd ddim angen atgoffa Port o allu Mark Griffiths wrth iddo wrth ymosod.
Gyda Port ar rhediad o 7 gêm yn ddiguro, gan gynnwys pum buddugoliaeth yn olynol, bydd y gêm ar y Rec yn rhoi llinyn mesur ar adfywiad Port. Cafwyd perfformiadau tîm ardderchog gyda’r chwaraewyr newydd yn gwneud cyfraniad allweddol. Mae asgwrn cefn profiadol y tîm yn arwain drwy esiampl a cafwyd perfformiadau cadarn gan y capten Rhys Roberts a Grahame Austin yn y cefn, Ceri James yn dychwelyd o anaf a rheoli yng nghanol y cae, Richard Harvey yn gyson rhwng y pyst a Graham Boylan yn rhoi shifft fawr arall.

Port will travel to Caersws on Tuesday night for what is the penultimate game of the season. Following the last two performances from Mickey Evans’s team the visit should perhaps carry a health warning. They have unceremoniously dispatched two of Port’s recent opponents to the long grass. On Saturday they inflicted a 7-1 defeat on Penycae, a week after piling eight past Ruthin Town. What a way to get four straight defeats out of your system!
Over the two games Mark Griffiths has scored 7, Adam Jenkins 5 while Graham Evans chipped in with two. Port will also not need reminding of Mark Griffiths ability to hit on the break.
With Port on an unbeaten run of 7 games, including 5 straight wins, the game at the Recreation Ground will be a test of their revival. There have been excellent all round team performances and the new players brought in have made a significant contribution. The experienced spine of the team have led by example with Rhys Roberts and Grahame Austin putting in further stalwart defensive performances on Saturday, Ceri James returning from injury to control things in midfield, Richard Harvey consistent as ever in goal and Graham Boylan putting in yet another hard working shift.

Dan-16 yn ennill eto / U-16s win again

Roedd buddugoliaeth arall heddiw i’r tîm Academi Dan-16 yn curo Derwyddon Cefn oddi cartref o 7-1. Y fuddugoliaeth hon yn eu gosod ar ben tabl y gogledd o gynghrair yr Academi er eu bod wedi chwarae mwy o gemau na’u prif wrthwynebwyr TNS a Cei Conna. Eu record am y tymor hyd yma ydy wyth buddugoliaeth un gêm gyfartal a cholli ond unwaith. Mae’r tabl i’w weld ar http://www.welshpremier.com/2012-13fixtures.ink
Y Derwyddon enillodd y gêm Dan-12 o 4-2.

There was another big win for the Academy U-16s today when they travelled to play Cefn Druids and won by 7-1. They currently top the northern section of the Academy League though their main rivals Connah’s Quay do have games in hand. Their playing record this season shows 8 wins one draw and a solitary defeat. You can find the Academy tables on http://www.welshpremier.com/2012-13fixtures.ink
Cefn were winners at U-12 by 4-2.

Cychwyn cynnar yn Llanrhaeadr / Early start at Llanrhaeadr (Sat Nav: SY10 0LG)

Llanrhaeadr Bydd Porthmadog yn teithio i Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant ddydd Sadwrn gyda’r gic gyntaf am hanner dydd. Mae yna newid wedi bod i’r tîm rheoli yn Llanrhaeadr ers i’r ddau glwb gyfarfod ar y Traeth gyda Dan Stevens yn gadael, a tîm rheoli’r tymor diwethaf sef Mario Iaquinta a James Davies yn dychwelyd. Mae’r clwb o’r canolbarth ar waelod y tabl ac yng nghanol rhediad gwael yn llwyddo i ennill ond un gêm yn 2013 o 3-2 yn erbyn Rhydymwyn a colli’r pum gêm arall.
Ond mae’r clwb wedi dangos yr ysbryd i frwydro fel y gwnaethant yn erbyn Port llynedd yn dod yn ôl yn yr ail hanner i sicrhau gem gyfartal 3-3. Hefyd yn eu gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf, er yn colli i’r Rhyl yn llwyddo i gadw’r sgôr i 2-0.
Bydd Port yn edrych i ymestyn eu rhediad diguro diweddar i 7 gêm. Yn y cyfnod hwn cafwyd cymysgfa o bêl-droed da, fel yn yr ail hanner yn erbyn Rhaeadr, a’r ysbryd i frwydro fel y cafwyd gyda 10 dyn nos Fawrth. Amdani hogiau.

Port will travel to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant on Saturday morning for a 12 noon kick off. The mid-Wales club have experienced behind the scenes changes since the two clubs last met with manager Dan Stevens departing to be replaced by last season’s management team of Mario Iaquinta and James Davies. Llanrhaeadr are in a poor run of form with only one win since the turn of the year by 3-2 over Rhydymwyn. They have lost their other 5 games during the period.
However they have a reputation for fighting spirit and Port will recall the second half fight back last season, to earn a 3-3 draw. In their last game they kept runaway league leaders Rhyl to only two goals.
Port will be looking to add to their six match unbeaten run. In this period they have played some really good football as in the second half against Rhayader and when needed against Penrhyncoch plenty of fighting spirit and determination to earn the three points.

Ail Dîm i ddychwelyd / Reserves to return

Neil Roberts Mae Bwrdd y clwb wedi cadarnhau y bydd yna Ail Dîm gan CPD Porthmadog at y tymor nesaf. Ers tymor 2009/10, pan oedd ganddynt dîm yng Nghynghrair Gwynedd, mae Port wedi gweithredu heb ail dîm. Pan bydd yr ail dîm yn ail ffurfio y bwriad ydy chwarae yn Uwch Gynghrair Ail Dimau Gogledd Cymru.
Bydd y tîm yn cael ei reoli gan Neil Roberts, hyfforddwr presennol y tîm Academi Dan-16 llwyddiannus. Ers dechrau’r tymor presennol mae Neil wedi bod yn datblygu ei sgiliau hyfforddi ac ar fin cwblhau Trwydded ‘C’ UEFA. Cafodd ei brofiad fel chwaraewr gyda Llanrug a Chaernarfon ac mae wedi hyfforddi’r ifanc yn Llanrug o 8 oed tan oed Academi. Gwnaiff ei gefndir felly ei wneud yn berson delfrydol i gymryd yr ail dîm a’i ddatblygu.
Dywedodd Gerallt Owen, ysgrifennydd y clwb, “Y nod ydy rhoi cyfleoedd i chwaraewyr addawol o’r Academi wrth iddynt gamu i fyny ar ddiwedd y tymor. Y bwriad ydy i weddill y garfan fod yn chwaraewyr ifanc Dan-19 gan fydd hyn yn ei gwneud yn bosib inni hefyd rhoi tîm yng Nghwpan Ieuenctid Cymru a Chwpan Ieuenctid Gogledd Cymru, a thrwy hynny byddwn yn ticio blwch pwysig yng ngofynion y Drwydded Ddomestig.”
Mae hyn yn newyddion da i Gareth Parry a fydd yn medru defnyddio’r ail dîm ar gyfer chwaraewyr sy’n dychwelyd o anaf neu wedi bod yn aros eu cyfle ar y fainc. Bydd yn newyddion da i gefnogwyr hefyd gyda’r clwb wedyn yn medru manteisio ar y buddsoddiad mewn Academi.
Cafodd 4 o chwaraewr addawol yr Academi eu cynnwys yng ngharfan Gareth Parry at y gêm yn erbyn Penrhyncoch.

The Board has now confirmed that there will be a Porthmadog FC reserve team for next season. The club have been without a reserve side since season 2009/10 when they were members of the Gwynedd League. The reformed reserves will play in the North Wales Reserve Premier League.
The club is to be managed by Neil Roberts, current coach of the highly successful Porthmadog Academy U-16s. Since the start of the season Neil has been developing his coaching skills and is near to completing his UEFA ‘C’ Licence coaching badge. His own playing experience was with Llanrug United and Caernarfon Town. He has also coached youngsters at Llanrug from U-8s level through to Academy level. His background makes him an ideal person to take over and develop our reserve team.
Club Secretary Gerallt Owen said, “The aim is to provide opportunities for promising players from the current Academy U-16s who will be stepping up at the end of this season. It is intended that the remainder of the squad will be made up of players in the U-19 age group as this will enable the club to enter a team in the FAW Youth Cup and the North Wales Youth Cup and so ticking an important box in the Domestic Licence criteria.”
This is all good news for the manager who will be able to further boost the reserves with players from the first team who are returning from injury or have been waiting their chance on the bench. It is also good news for supporters as it means that we will be getting full value for the club’s investment in the Academy structure.
Manager Gareth Parry included 4 of the promising young U-16s in his squad for the Penrhyncoch game.

Chwaraewyr y tymor / Players of the Season

Graham Boylan Llongyfarchiadau mawr i Graham Boylan a gafodd ei bleidleisio yn Chwaraewr y Tymor y Cefnogwyr 2012/13, ac i’r amddiffynnwr ifanc Josh Banks a gafodd ei enwi yn Chwaraewr y Tymor y Chwaraewyr.
Graham ydy prif sgoriwr y clwb ar 11 gôl ar hyn o bryd, a’r goliau yna i gyd yn dod mewn gemau cynghrair. Mae hefyd wedi ymddangos mewn pob un o’r 30 o gemau dros y tymor gan gynnwys un gêm fel eilydd. Ond nid yr ystadegau sydd tu ôl i ddewis y cefnogwyr ond ei deyrngarwch a’u ymroddiad sydd wedi disgleirio drwy dymor anodd. Mae’r ymroddiad hwn wedi’i ddal yn berffaith yn llun Andrew Kime a oedd ar dudalen flaen y Rhaglen i’r gêm yn erbyn Penrhyncoch.
Ysgrifennodd Gareth Parry yn y Rhaglen honno am Graham a’i gyd-deithiwr o St Helens, Scott Sephton, “.... mae’r ddau wedi teithio wythnos ar ôl wythnos i gemau ac i ymarfer a hynny heb dderbyn digon o arian i dalu’r bil disel. Mae’r ddau yn esiampl i’r hogiau lleol ac rwyf wir yn dymuno ei gweld yn rhan o’r tîm at y tymor nesaf.”
Mae Josh Banks wedi gwneud argraff fawr iawn ers ymuno o Bwllheli ym mis Tachwedd. Dywedodd ei reolwr amdano. “Dangosodd Josh y galon a’r ymdrech roedd eu hangen ar y clwb ac mae wedi haeddu cael ei gydnabod gan ei gyd chwaraewyr a hynny er mae ond ym mis Tachwedd yr ymunodd â ni. Mae hyn yn gredyd i Josh a’i agwedd, a’r gorau yw fod yna le i ddatblygu yn well chwaraewr. Mae’n dilyn Gareth Jones Evans a enillodd yr un wobr yn ei dymor cyntaf yn y garfan, ac mae’n fwriad gen i deithio i lawr arfordir Llyn yn ystod y misoedd nesaf i arwyddo yr enillydd nesaf!!”

Josh Banks Congratulations to Graham Boylan, voted Supporters Player of the Season 2012/13, and young defender Josh Banks who was named by his fellow players as the Players’ Player of the Season.
Graham is the club’s leading scorer currently on 11 goals, all scored in the league, and he has also appeared in all 30 games played this season with one a sub appearance. But the stats are not the real reason behind the supporters’ choice; it is his loyalty and commitment which have shone through in what has been a difficult season. This commitment was well captured in Andrew Kime’s photograph on the front cover of the Match programme for the Penrhyncoch fixture.
Manager Gareth Parry writing in the match programme said of Graham and his fellow traveller from St Helens, Scott Sephton, “... they have travelled week in week out to games and training and have not received enough money to even cover the cost of their diesel. They have been an example to the local lads and I sincerely hope that both will be part of our team next season.”
Josh Banks has made a huge impression since joining the club in November from Pwllheli. His manager said of him, “Josh has shown the heart and effort needed in our side and has been rightly recognised by his peers, even though he only joined us in November. This is a huge credit to Josh and his attitude, and the best part is, he can become a much better player. Following Gareth Jones Evans winning this award in his first season in the squad I will be heading down the Llyn coast over the next few months to pick up the next recipient!!”

Rhagolwg/Preview: Port v Penrhyn-coch

Penrhyn-coch Penrhyn-coch bydd yr ymwelwyr olaf â’r Traeth am y tymor hwn. Chwaraeir y gem nos Fawrth gyda’r gic gyntaf am 7.30pm. Mae’r gemau ar y Traeth rhwng y ddau glwb dros y ddau dymor diwethaf wedi bod yn dynn iawn gyda Penrhyn-coch yn ennill o 3-2 y tymor diwethaf ac 1-1 oedd canlyniad y tymor cynt. Ond ennill clir o 4-0 wnaeth Port yn y gêm gyfatebol ar Gae Baker ym mis Tachwedd.
Ar hyn o bryd mae Port yng nghanol rhediad da, yn ennill 4 o’r 5 gêm ddiwethaf gyda’r llall yn gyfartal. Yn amlwg maent yn cael dipyn gwell lwc ar y Traeth na fuont ynghynt yn y tymor. Da oedd gweld Graham Boylan yn manteisio ar y gwasanaeth arbennig a gafodd yn yr ail hanner ac yn rhwydo ddwywaith i ennill y gêm. Mae John Owen, gyda 4 gôl mewn 7 gêm a nifer o ‘assists’, wedi creu argraff yn syth. Ac o’i berfformiad ar ôl dod i’r cae yn yr ail hanner medrwn edrych ymlaen i weld Eilir Edwards yn cael dipyn o ddylanwad ar chwarae’r tîm.
Mae Penrhyn-coch un safle yn is na Port yn y tabl. Yn eu gem ddiwethaf colli adref i Gegidfa oedd eu hanes. Roedd hyn yn dilyn buddugoliaeth o 3-0 yn Llanrhaeadr a gêm gyfartal yn erbyn ein gwrthwynebwyr diweddaraf –Rhaeadr.

Penrhyn-coch will be the last club to visit the Traeth this season. The game will be played on Tuesday evening with a 7.30pm kickoff. Games between the two clubs at the Traeth have been tight affairs in the past two seasons with Penrhyn-coch winning last season by 3-2 and the previous season the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Port were however clear 4-0 winners in the corresponding game at Cae Baker back in November.
Port are in a good run of form with four wins and a draw in their last five games and have also shaken off their poor home form which has been such a feature for most of the season. It was good to see Graham Boylan respond to the excellent second half service with two match winning goals. John Owen with four goals in only seven appearances and several assists has made an immediate impact since joining Port on loan. Judging by his second half impact we can also look forward to Eilir Edwards having a big influence on our play.
Penrhyn-coch are one place below Port in the table. Last time out they went down at home to Guilsfield having previously won 3-0 away at Llanrhaeadr and drawn 1-1 with Rhayader, our last opponents.

Rhagolwg/Preview: Port v Rhaeadr

Rhaeadr / Rhayader Rhaeadr fydd yn ymweld pnawn Sadwrn am yr ail o dair gêm yn olynol ar y Traeth. Roedd y gêm fod i’w chwarae ar 19 Ionawr ond oherwydd y tywydd nid oedd yn bosib teithio o’r canolbarth. Gêm gyfartal 1-1 cafodd Rhaeadr yn ei gêm ddiwethaf, adref yn erbyn Penrhyncoch, gan ddod a rhediad o golli tair gêm yn olynol i ben. Roedd eu rhediad gwael yn cynnwys cweir o 6-1 gan Cegidfa. Y tro diwethaf iddynt ennill gêm oedd curo Rhuthun ar 8 Rhagfyr.
Mae’r fuddugoliaeth dros Penycae yn golygu, mwy na heb, fod Port yn ddiogel ond gan fod Rhaeadr yng nghanol y frwydr i osgoi disgyn, ni fydd hon yn gêm hawdd. Pan gyfarfu’r ddau ar y Weirglodd ar bnawn braf o Fedi profodd yn bnawn rhwystredig iawn i Port. Er waethaf rheoli’r gêm am gyfnodau hir iawn, methiant oedd eu hymdrechion i agor amddiffyn penderfynol. Cosbwyd y methiant hwnnw wrth i Rhaeadr wrth ymosod ddwywaith a sgorio, gyda Jordan Cooper a Lance Jones yn cymryd eu cyfleoedd yn dda.
I’w gymharu ac wythnos ddiwethaf bydd Gareth Parry yn dewis o garfan dipyn fwy –heblaw fod y tri a chwaraeodd efo anaf ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf wedi gwneud eu hanafiadau yn waeth. Ond bydd Grahame Austin a’r newydd ddyfodiad Eilir Edwards wedi gorffen eu cyfnod o waharddiad a fydd Gruff Williams hefyd ar gael. Gyda hon yn un o’r pum gêm sy’n weddill bydd Gareth Parry yn awyddus i’w defnyddio er mwyn i’r chwaraewyr newydd setlo yn y garfan a pharatoi at tymor nesaf.

Rhayader Town will be the visitors to the Traeth next Saturday for the second of three consecutive home games. This fixture was originally scheduled for the 19 January but that fixture fell foul of the weather with travel to Port from Rhayader not possible. The mid-Wales club were last in action against Penrhyncoch, a game which resulted in a 1-1 draw and ended a run of three straight defeats. Their poor run included a 6-1 drubbing at Guilsfield and they are without a win since 8 December when they defeated Ruthin.
Last Saturday’s home win over Penycae has probably ended Port’s relegation worries but with Rhayader still heavily involved in the relegation battle, this will not be an easy fixture. When the two clubs met on a warm September afternoon at the Weirglodd, it proved to be a highly frustrating time for Port. Though they dominated possession and the territory they failed to open up a stubborn Rhayader defence. This failure was punished, as Port were twice caught on the break with Jordan Cooper and Lance Jones taking their chances well.
Compared to last week Gareth Parry could be spoiled for selection choice!! This will of course be dependent on the reaction of the three who played though carrying injuries last week. But Grahame Austin and newcomer Eilir Edwards have completed their suspensions and Gruff Williams also returns. This is one of five games remaining and Gareth Parry will be looking to continue their current unbeaten run and, having brought in several new players over the last month, look to build for next season.

Strydoedd Aberstalwm / Down Memory Lane

Y Llais / The Voice Os wnaethoch waredu eich copi o’r ‘Llais’, cylchgrawn swyddogol y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed, am ichi ei dderbyn yn rhad ac am ddim gyda’ch Daily Post neu Western Mail, wel ewch yn sydyn i’w nol o’r bocs glas cyn i hogiau’r bin alw heibio. Yn y rhan ‘Timau Cymru o’r Gorffennol’ mae yna lun fydd o ddiddordeb i bob un o gefnogwyr CPD Porthmadog. Y llun ydy’r un o Dîm Amatur Cymru a chwaraeodd yn erbyn Lloegr mewn gêm rhyngwladol ar y Traeth yn nhymor 1967/68. Yn y tîm yna roedd dau o sêr tîm amatur enwog Porthmadog o’r 1950au/60au. Y golwr ar y dydd oedd Ifor Pritchard ac ar yr asgell i’w wlad oedd Dave McCarter. Cymru enillodd y gêm o 1-0.
Chwaraewyd y gêm ar yr 18 Tachwedd 1967 a chyfrannodd y fuddugoliaeth hon at gamp Cymru yn ennill y Bencampwriaeth Amatur Brydeinig yn 1967/68.
Mae’r cylchgrawn ddwyieithog hefyd yn cynnwys cyfweliad gyda Joe Ledley, chwaraewr ganol cae Celtic a Chymru, cyn y gêm yn erbyn yr Alban, golwg ar y tîm cenedlaethol Dan-21 ac ar glwb Prestatyn ac ar dymor cyntaf Uwch Gynghrair Cymru i Ferched.

If you prematurely disposed of the FAW official magazine ‘The Voice’ just because it was a freebie with yesterdays Daily Post and Western Mail then fish it out of your blue box before the bin man calls by. The section ‘Wales Teams of the Past’ will be of interest to all Porthmadog FC supporters. There you will find a photograph of the Wales Amateur international team that played England at the Traeth in season 1967/68. Included in that Wales team were two of the legendary stars of that famed Porthmadog amateur team of the 1950s/60s. The goalkeeper on that day was Ifor Pritchard and on the wing for his country was Dave McCarter. For the record Wales ran out winners by 1-0.
The game was played on 18 November 1967 and the victory helped Wales to win the British Amateur Championship in that season.
The excellently bi-lingual magazine also includes an interview with Celtic and Wales’ midfielder Joe Ledley ahead of the game against Scotland, a look at Wales U-21s and at Prestatyn Town and a look at the first season of Welsh Premier Women’s League.
