Caernarfon yng Nghwpan Cymru / Caernarfon in the Welsh Cup.

Mae Port wedi derbyn gêm gartref anodd fel gwobr am ennill yng Nghwpan Cymru yn erbyn Gresffordd - gêm ddarbi yn erbyn Caernarfon. Bydd y gemau’n cael eu chwarae ar ddydd Sadwrn, Tachwedd y 5ed.

Si am Dylan Owen / Dylan Owen Rumour.

Mae si wedi bod yn ddiweddar fod Port ar fin arwyddo’r ymosodwr / chwaraewr canol cae Dylan Owen o Gaernarfon. Nid yw Dylan, a fuodd gyda Wrecsam am gyfnod, wedi dechrau i’r Cofis y tymor hwn. Byddwn yn dod a mwy o fanylion i chi cyn gynted a phosib.

There have been rumours recently that Port are on the verge of signing the striker / midfielder Dylan Owen from Caernarfon Town. Dylan, who had a spell at Wrexham, has not started for the Cofis this season. We will bring you further information as soon as possible.

John Hulse yn flin / John Hulse an Angry Man.

Dywedodd rheolwr Y Rhyl, John Hulse, am y gêm ddydd Sul wrth bapur y ‘Rhyl Visitor’ :
“Roedd Carl Owen yn camsefyll o ddwy lathen pan dderbyniodd y bêl. Roedd yn benderfyniad gwarthus. Roedd tacl George Horan yn hollol deg ac os oedd yn gic o’r smotyn pam wnaeth y dyfarnwr ond ei fwcio? Os oedd yn gic o’r smotyn dylai fod wedi ei yrru i ffwrdd. Roedd y swyddogion yn wan ac yn warthus; cawsom ddim ganddynt drwy’r prynhawn.”
Bu’n rhaid i Port dderbyn penderfyniad amheus gan yr un dyfarnwr yn erbyn Bangor a derbyn bydd yn rhaid i Mr.Hulse wneud hefyd.

Rhyl manager John Hulse told the ‘Rhyl Visitor’ regarding last Sunday’s match that:
"Carl Owen was two yards offside when he received the ball, it was a diabolical decision. It was a perfectly good tackle by George Horan, if it was a penalty how come the referee only booked him? It should have been a sending off if that was the case. The officials were woeful, disgraceful; they gave us nothing all afternoon."
Port had to accept a debateable decision from the same official in the game against Bangor and Mr Hulse will have to do the same.

Hanes y Clwb / Club History.

O'r Rhaglen:
Fel rhan o’r gwaith sydd yn mynd ymlaen i groniclo hanes y clwb, bwriadwn sefydlu bas data o’r rhai a chwaraeodd i CPD Porthmadog dros y blynyddoedd. Mae enwau llawer yn adnabyddus ond mae eraill o bosib’ wedi’u colli am byth. Er mwyn casglu cymaint o wybodaeth a phosib’, byddwn eisiau enwau llawn, dyddiad geni, blynyddoedd y buont yn cynrychioli’r clwb yn ogystal ag unrhyw wybodaeth arall. Byddwn yn cychwyn gyda’r cyfnod 1946-90. Mae’r cyfnod o 1990 ymlaen wedi’i gofnodi yn reit dda yn barod. Os oes gan unrhyw un o’r cefnogwyr hyn wybodaeth ynglyn â hyn, cysylltwch â Gerallt Owen ar 07881 742600 neu cewch air efo fo yn un o’r gêmau sydd i ddod.

From the programme:
As part of the ongoing work to chronicle the history of the club, we are looking to set up a database of players who have played for Porthmadog FC over the years. The names of many are well known but many others have possibly been lost for ever. In order to glean as much information about past players as possible, we will be looking for full names, date of birth, seasons they have played for the club and any other information. We will start with the period 1946-1990. The period from 1990 to the present is fairly well covered already. If any of the old supporters has any information which might be of help then contact Gerallt Owen on 07881 742600 or speak to him at any future match.

Gêm dan-21 ffwrdd / Under-21 game off

Bu’n rhaid i Port wneud cais i ‘r Drenewydd i’r gêm a oedd i’w chwarae heno ar Barc Latham gael ei gohirio. Cafwyd problemau ynglyn â chofrestru chwaraewyr ar gyfer y gynghrair newydd gan fod angen i bob chwaraewr gael ei arwyddo ar ffurflenni Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Deellir fod yna broblemau wedi bod ynglyn â sicrhau cyflenwad digonol o ffurflenni ar gyfer y pwrpas hwn. Yn ogystal, cafwyd problemau yn deillio o reol a weithredir gan Gynghrair Caernarfon a’r Cylch sydd yn ei gwneud yn wahanol i bob cynghrair arall yn y pyramid sef fod chwaraewyr yn eu cynghrair hwy ond yn cael arwyddo i un clwb yn unig. Oherwydd hyn, mae Steven Williams a Barry Edwards, rheolwyr y tîm dan-21, wedi methu sicrhau y chwaraewyr o’r gynghrair honno a oedd ganddynt mewn golwg. Dyma’r broblem sydd hefyd yn wynebu clwb tref Caernarfon.
Erbyn hyn mae pedair o’r pum gêm yn y gynghrair dan-21 newydd wedi’u gohirio oherwydd problemau technegol. Gobeithio fydd yn bosib datrys y problemau yma’n fuan gan fod y gynghrair newydd â rhan bwysig iawn i chwarae yn natblygiad Uwch Gynghrair Cymru a’r gamp yng Nghymru yn gyffredinol.

Port have had to request the postponement of tonight’s game, due to be played at Latham Park. Problems have been encountered with the registration of players due to the necessity for all players to be signed on Welsh Premier forms. It is understood that there have been some difficulties with the supply of these forms. Problems have also been encountered resulting from a rule applied by the Caernarfon and District league that their registered players can only sign for one club. This rule sets them apart from other clubs and leagues in the pyramid. As a result of this rule, Steven Williams and Barry Edwards, the managers of the under-21 team, have failed to complete the signing of players whom they had lined up in that league. It is understood that this is also the problem which has faced Caernarfon Town.
This means that four of the five games in the new league have been postponed because of registration difficulties. Let us hope that it will be possible to overcome these difficulties very quickly for this new league is important to the development of the Welsh Premier League and the development of the game generally in Wales.

Cic o’r smotyn? / That Penalty

Carl LambAr ôl edrych nifer o weithiau ar gwymp dramatig ymosodwr Bangor, Carl Lamb, ar y fideo o’r ‘Clwb Peldroed’, mae’n anodd iawn gweld y cyfiawnhad am y gic o’r smotyn. Nid gweld bai ar y dyfarnwr, Seimon Evans, sydd ond yn gweld y digwyddiad unwaith ydy hyn ond mae’n tanlinellu mor anffodus fu Port ddydd Sadwrn ac mor ffodus oedd Bangor i ganfod achubiaeth mewn ffordd gwbl anhaeddiannol. I ddweud y gwir, roedd yn haws cyfiawnhau cerdyn melyn i Carl Lamb am luchio ei hun rhwng Ryan Davies a Lee Webber gyda’r ddau amddiffynnwr yn cyfrannu dim at y ddrama. Wedi dweud hyn i gyd, collodd Port eu cyfle yn yr hanner cyntaf ar ôl sgorio gôl gynnar ond methon nhw’n llwyr i fanteisio ar y sefyllfa a sicrhau ail gôl a fyddai o bosib wedi rhoi’r gêm tu hwnt i Fangor.

After looking at Bangor forward, Carl Lamb’s dramatic fall in the box several times on the video of the ‘Clwb Peldroed’ highlights, it is very difficult to justify the penalty award. That is not to point the finger of blame at referee Simon Evans who only sees the incident once but it does underline how unfortunate Port were to see the game slip away and how very fortunate Bangor were to grasp a lifeline which their performance hardly deserved. It would be easier to justify a yellow card for Carl Lamb who appeared to throw himself between Ryan Davies and Lee Webber who played little or no part in the drama. But when all is said and done, Port missed the boat in the first half when, having scored an early goal, they failed to take full advantage of the situation, for if they had scored a second goal at this stage they would have probably put the game beyond Bangor.

Jon Peris Jones

Er fod yna sibrydion mai i Goleg Prifysgol Bangor fyddai Jonathan Peris Jones yn mynd ar gyfer ei addysg prifysgol, deellir erbyn hyn mai i Gaerdydd fydd o’n mynd. Golyga hyn na fydd o ar gael yn rheolaidd i Port yn ystod y tymhorau sydd i ddod. Bydd yn dal wedi’i gofrestru gan Port yn y gobaith y bydd ar gael o dro i dro. Dymunwn y gorau i’r chwaraewr hynod dalentog hwn yn ei yrfa prifysgol.

There have been conflicting reports regarding the future of Jonathan Peris Jones. Though it had been rumoured that he would continue his education at University College Bangor, it is now understood that he will go to Cardiff. This means that he will not be regularly available to the club who will however retain his registration and hope that he will be available from time to time. We wish this talented young player every success at university.

Cynghrair Dan-21 / Under-21 League

Bydd y Gynghrair newydd Dan-21 yn cychwyn nos Fercher yma (Medi 21ain) pan fydd Port yn ymweld â’r Drenewydd. Bydd nifer o’r chwaraewyr ifanc yn y tîm hwn yn aelodau o’r ail dîm a bydd yn gosod sialens dda iddynt. Rheolwr y tîm fydd Steve Williams. Mae rheolau’r gynghrair yn caniatáu i’r clwb gynnwys tri o chwaraewyr sydd dros yr oed a gobaith y clwb yw y bydd nifer o’r chwaraewyr ifanc yn manteisio ar y profiad gan ddatblygu, gydag amser, i fod yn aelodau o’r brif garfan.

The new Under-21 League kicks off this week and the Port youngsters visit Newtown on Wednesday evening (September 21st). Many of the young players involved will be from the reserves and this league will provide them with a good challenge. The team will be managed by Steve Williams. The league rules allow for the use of three over age players and it is hoped that the experience gained by the youngsters will eventually increase the supply of players available to the first team squad.

Mark Williams

Daeth y newyddion, ar ddiwedd yr wythnos ddiwethaf, fod Mark Williams yn symud i Gaersws. Ymunodd cyn ymosodwr Y Drenewydd ac Amwythig â Phorthmadog ar ddechrau tymor 2003-04 gan ymddangos 56 o weithiau yn ogystal â 7 ymddangosiad fel eilydd a sgoriodd 12 gôl. Dywedodd Osian Roberts, wrth ddiolch i Mark am ei gyfraniad, "Cafodd Mark y daith i ymarfer yn drafferthus ers iddo newid ei waith ac mae’n gadael y clwb efo’n bendith ni a’n dymuniadau gorau."
Ei gryfder yn yr awyr ac ar y llawr yw nodwedd amlycaf chwarae Mark a hyn yn ei alluogi i gynnal y llinell flaen a thynnu chwaraewyr eraill i mewn i’r gêm. Dywed Mickey Evans, rheolwr Caersws "Mae Mark wedi chwarae llawer ar y lefel yma ac yn gwybod yn iawn am Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Mae ei ddyfodiad yn dda i’r clwb a gall fod yn gymorth mawr i’r chwaraewyr ifanc." Eleni mae Mark wedi bod ar y fainc i Port ac, er ei fod yn chwaraewr talentog, nid i’w ei bartneriaeth, ar y cyfan, gyda Carl Owen wedi taro deuddeg.

News of Mark Williams’ move to Caersws was announced at the end of last week. The former Newtown and Shrewsbury striker joined Port at the beginning of the 2003-04 season and made 56 league appearances together with another 7 as substitute scoring 12 goals. Osian Roberts said "Travelling to training has become a problem for Mark since he changed his job and he leaves with our blessing and best wishes".
Mark is a powerful target man whose great strength in the air and on the ground enable him to hold the line together well and bring others in to the game. Caersws manager Mickey Evans says "He has played a lot of games at this level and knows exactly what the Welsh Premier is all about. He will help the younger lads in the squad and his arrival represents a good signing for the club." This season Mark has been on the bench for Port and, though a talented player, he and Carl Owen never seem to have quite hit it off as a partnership.

Cwpan Cymru / Welsh Cup

Gresffordd fydd gwrthwynebwyr Port yn ail rownd Cwpan Cymru, hyn yn dilyn eu buddugoliaeth dros Bodedern ddydd Sadwrn. John Ratcliffe sgoriodd y gyntaf i Gresfordd gyda Ian Matthias yn ychwanegu’r ail. Cafodd Emyr Roberts gôl gysur hwyr i’r ynyswyr . Bydd Port yn teithio i Gresffordd ar Hydref 1af.

Gresford Athletic will be Port’s opponents in the second round of the Welsh Cup following their 2-1 victory on Saturday. Jon Ratcliffe opened Gresford's account with Ian Matthias adding a second before a late consolation for the visitors from Emyr Roberts. Port will travel to Clappers Lane to face Gresford on October 1st.

Cwpan Cymru / Welsh Cup

Bydd Port i ffwrdd yn yr ail rownd o Gwpan Cymru a’u gwrthwynebwyr fydd ynteu Bodedern neu Gresffordd. Ni chwaraeir y gêm rownd gyntaf rhwng y ddau glwb yma tan ddydd Sadwrn nesaf ( Medi 17 fed). Curwyd Bodedern gan Port mewn gêm baratoi at y tymor o 2-0 ym mis Awst. Gêmau lleol eraill o ddiddordeb yn yr ail rownd ydy’r gêm ddarbi rhwng Bangor a Llanberis, Caergybi yn croesawu Caernarfon a Nefyn yn ymweld â’r Waun neu Brynteg.

Port will be away in the 2nd round of the Welsh Cup at either Bodedern or Gresford. These two clubs are not due to decide their 1st round tie until next Saturday (Sept 17th). Port have previously beaten Bodedern in August in a pre-season friendly by 2-0. Other local matches of interest are the derby match between Bangor and Llanberis while Caernarfon visit Holyhead and Nefyn will visit either Brynteg or Chirk AAA.

Jon Peris Jones

Deallwn mai i Brifysgol Bangor fydd Jonathan Peris Jones yn mynd fel myfyriwr yn y dyfodol agos ac nid i Abertawe na Chaerdydd fel yr oedd pawb yn ofni. Os ydy hyn yn wir, mae’n newyddion da iawn. Golyga fod y chwaraewr dawnus hwn ar gael i chwarae yn rheolaidd i Port y tymor hwn. Yn ystod gemau cyntaf y tymor, mae wedi cymryd y cyfle i ddangos ei ddawn fel cefnwr de, y lle a adawyd yn wag gan fod John Gwynfor bellach yn chwarae dros Nefyn. Mae Jonathan yn chwaraewr amryddawn ac yn barod wedi cynrychioli Port fel amddiffynnwr canol ac yng nghanol cae yn ogystal ag yn ei safle presennol fel cefnwr. Edrychwn ymlaen i weld y chwaraewr ifanc hwn yn datblygu yn ystod y tymor sydd i ddod.

It is now understood that Jonathan Peris Jones will go to Bangor University College as a student in the near future and not to Swansea or Cardiff as many had feared. If this proves to be true it is indeed very good news as it means that he will be available to Port on a regular basis throughout this season. In early season games, he has already performed well at right back –the position left vacant owing to John Gwynfor’s decision to step down and turn out for Nefyn. Jonathan is a promising young player whose obvious talents have allowed him to represent Port in central defence and midfield as well as his present position at full back. We look forward to seeing him develop during the season ahead.

Gêm y Rhyl / The Rhyl match

Bydd y gêm, rhwng Porthmadog a’r Rhyl, a oedd i fod i gael ei chwarae ar ddydd Sadwrn, Medi 24ain yn cael ei chwarae ar y diwrnod canlynol sef dydd Sul, Medi’r 25ain. Hwn fydd yr ail dro i Port chwarae ar y Sul y tymor hwn gan iddynt hefyd wynebu Port Talbot lle’r roedd maint y dorf o 237 mae’n siwr yn plesio swyddogion y clwb. Roedd hyn, yn ôl profiad llynedd, yn gynnydd o tua 60 o’i gymharu â chwarae ar y Sadwrn yn erbyn gwrthwynebwyr tebyg i Port Talbot. Bydd y clwb yn edrych ymlaen at dorf sylweddol ar Sul, Medi 25ain gyda’r Rhyl, un o geffylau blaen y gynghrair, yn wrthwynebwyr deniadol, hyn yn dilyn eu llwyddiant yn Ewrop. At y gêm hon, fydd yna babell gyda thrwydded yfed yn cael ei gosod ar yr ail gae.

The fixture against Rhyl, scheduled for Saturday, September 24th, has now been switched to the following day Sunday September 25th. This will be the second Sunday fixture for Port this season following on the home match against Port Talbot when the gate of 237 must have pleased club officials. This, judging by last season’s experience, represents an increase of about 60 spectators compared to a Saturday fixture with similar opposition. The club hopes for a bumper gate on Sunday, September the 25th with league pace setters and European successes Rhyl as the very attractive opposition. For this game, the club will again erect a marquee with a drinks licence on the second pitch.

Gwaharddiad Ryan Davies / Ryan Davies' ban

Yn dilyn derbyn cerdyn coch yn y gêm yn erbyn Airbus, mae Ryan Davies wedi cael ei wahardd am un gêm yn unig. Gan iddo beidio cael ei gynnwys yn y garfan yn erbyn TNS, mae ei waharddiad drosodd a bydd ar gael am y gêm yn erbyn Derwyddon Cefn nos yfory (Awst 30) ar gae Plas Kynaston.

Following his red card against Airbus, Port defender Ryan Davies has received a one match suspension. He has served this suspension by not being included for the TNS game. He is therefore available for the game against Cefn Druids tomorrow evening (August 30th) at Plas Kynaston.

Camerâu ar y Traeth / Cameras at the Traeth

Bydd camerâu S4C ar y Traeth ddydd Sadwrn ar gyfer ymweliad y pencampwyr TNS. Dangosir uchafbwyntiau’r gêm ar ‘Y Clwb’ nos Sadwrn i gychwyn am 7.25 pm. Mae’r cynhyrchydd, Gwyn Derfel, wedi addo bod yr uchafbwyntiau eleni yn rhai estynedig a hyn mewn ymateb i geisiadau’r gwylwyr.

S4C cameras will be at the Traeth on Saturday for the visit of the champions TNS. Highlights of the game will be on ‘Y Clwb’ on Saturday evening at 7.25 pm. The producer, Gwyn Derfel, promises extended highlights of the main match this season as a response to viewers’ requests.

Lansiad safle newydd / New website launched

Bydd gwefan Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog yn cael ei hail-lansio i gyd-fynd â gêm gynghrair gyntaf y tymor newydd, ar ddydd Sadwrn 27 Awst, pan fydd Port yn cwrdd â phencampwyr presennol y gynghrair, TNS.
Bydd y wefan, a lansiwyd gyntaf yn 1997, yn cael ei hadnewyddu i dderbyn golwg fwy modern a hefyd yn symud i’r cyfeiriad newydd www.cpdporthmadog.com fydd yn llawer haws i’w gofio na’r hen gyfeiriad. Bydd y wefan hefyd yn derbyn nawdd am y tro cyntaf gan y darparwyr rhyngrwyd o Borthmadog, Cymru 1.
Y gobaith yw y bydd y newidiadau hyn yn ei gwneud hi’n haws i bobl ddefnyddio’r safle gan arwain at gynnydd yn nifer yr ymwelwyr â’r safle. Derbyniodd y safle 16,700 o ymwelwyr y llynedd ac mae eisoes wedi derbyn 13,800 o ymwelwyr eleni.
Yn ôl Iwan Gareth, aelod o’r tîm sy’n gyfrifol am y wefan: "Bydd y newidiadau hyn yn ei gwneud yn haws i’r defnyddiwr ddod o hyd i’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf am y clwb, ac yn gwella’r gwasanaeth mae’r wefan yn cynnig”.
Yn ogystal â rhoi cyfeiriad a golwg newydd i’r wefan, mae Emyr Gareth, a gynlluniodd y wefan ar ei newydd wedd, yn dweud bod nifer o ddatblygiadau cyffrous ar droed.
"Bydd yr holl wybodaeth oedd ar yr hen wefan, fel adroddiadau, erthyglau, newyddion a chanlyniadau, yn dal ar gael i gefnogwyr Port. Ond bydd yna rai newidiadau cyffrous gan gynnwys siop ar-lein newydd.
"Rydym yn gobeithio bydd y siop ar agor mewn digon o bryd i alluogi ein cefnogwyr, o bob rhan o’r Byd, archebu eu hanrhegion Nadolig!” meddai Emyr.

The Porthmadog Football Club website will be re-launched to coincide with the first league game of the new season, on Saturday 27 August, when Port will meet the league’s current champions TNS.
The website, first launched in 1997, will be revamped to receive a more modern look and will also move to the new address www.porthmadogfc.com which will be easier to remember than the old address. The website will also receive sponsorship for the first time from Porthmadog-based internet providers, Cymru 1.
The hope is that these changes will make it easier for people to use the site leading to an increase in the number of visitors to the site. It attracted 16,700 visitors last year and has already been visited 13,800 times this year.
According to Iwan Gareth, a member of the team responsible for the website: "These changes will make it easier for users to find the latest information on the club, and improve the service provided by the website.”
As well as giving the website a new address and look, Emyr Gareth, who designed the new look website, says that a number of exciting developments are afoot.
"All the information on the old website, such as reports, articles, news and results, will still be available to Port’s supporters. But there will be a few exciting changes including a new on-line shop.
"We hope the shop will open in plenty of time to allow our supporters, from all parts of the World, to order their Christmas presents!” says Emyr.

Cwpan Cenedlaethol / Premier Cup

Bydd Port yn chwarae Caerfyrddin ar y Traeth yn y rownd gyntaf o’r Cwpan Cenedlaethol. Byddant felly yn croesawu’r clwb y gwnaethon gyfarfod pedair gwaith y llynedd, gan i’r ddau glwb wrthwynebu ei gilydd hefyd yn y rownd gyn derfynol o Gwpan Her Loosemore. Roedd pob un o’r gemau y llynedd yn rhai agos a chystadleuol. Yn ystod y gem gynghrair ar y Traeth, roedd yn rhaid galw hofrennydd i gludo capten Caerfyrddin, sef Rhodri Jones, i’r ysbyty yn dilyn anaf drwg. Yn ffodus, cafodd Rhodri wellhad buan ac edrychwn ymlaen i’w groesawu i’r Traeth unwaith eto. Roedd ail gymal y Gwpan Her yn nodedig am ddwy gôl arbennig, un gan Richard Kennedy i Gaerfyrddin a’r llall gan Carl Owen i Port. Edrychwn ymlaen at fwy o bêl droed o safon wrth inni groesawu Caerfyrddin yn dilyn eu perfformiadau arbennig yn Ewrop. Disgwylir i’r gêm gael ei chwarae yn ystod yr ail wythnos o Hydref.

Port will welcome Carmarthen Town to the Traeth in the first round of the Premier Cup. They will therefore meet a club with whom they crossed swords on four occasions last season as the two also met in the two leg semi-final of the Loosemore Challenge Cup as well as the usual league matches. Each one of last season’s games was a close competitive encounter. During the league match at the Traeth, a helicopter had to be called to airlift Carmarthen skipper Rhodri Jones to hospital following a nasty injury. Fortunately, he made a speedy recovery and we look forward to welcoming him to the Traeth once more. The second leg of the Challenge Cup was memorable for two fine goals, one by Richard Kennedy for Carmarthen and the other by Carl Owen for Port. We look forward to a high standard of football once more as we welcome Carmarthen following their outstanding performances in Europe. The game is expected to be played during the second week in October.

Daf Bach / Dafydd Evans

Bydd y tymor hwn y cyntaf ers llawer blwyddyn heb bresenoldeb Dafydd Bach neu Dafydd Evans. Ymunodd yr aelod poblogaidd hwn â’r garfan yn gyntaf yn ôl ym Medi 1994 o glwb Dinas Bangor. Cyn hynny, roedd wedi bod yn hyfforddai ar lyfrau Watford. Yn ystod ei gyfnod cyntaf gyda’r clwb, sefydlodd ei hun fel chwaraewr ganol cae creadigol a hynny dros gyfnod o dair blynedd yn y Gynghrair Genedlaethol. Gadawodd am gyfnod i chwarae i glwb Glantraeth ond, yn ddiweddarach, dychwelodd gan fwynhau ei dymor gorau i Port pan enillwyd dyrchafiad yn 2002-03. Yn y tymor hwn, roedd Dafydd yn rhan gwbl allweddol o’r tîm a chwalodd ei ffordd drwy’r Cymru Alliance gyda’i allu efo ciciau o’r smotyn yn ei helpu i gyfrannu naw o goliau. Roedd yn chwaraewr anhunanol, yn basiwr cywir o’r bêl a chanddo lygad da bob amser am agoriad. Rŵan, yn 33 mlwydd oed, mae wedi penderfynu ymddeol o bêl-droed ar y lefel yma ar ôl cynrychioli Port 152 o weithiau yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru -37 o rheini fel eilydd- gan sgorio pump o weithiau. Byddwn yn gweld ei golli ar y Traeth a hynny oherwydd ei bersonoliaeth gyfeillgar yn ogystal â’i gyfraniadau fel chwaraewr. Deallwn ei fod yn bwriadu dal ymlaen fel chwaraewr i’w glwb lleol sef Llanfairpwll a dymunwn yn dda iddo. Diolch Dafydd am dy holl ymdrechion ar ran y clwb a dymuniadau gorau ar gyfer y dyfodol.

This season marks the end of Dafydd Evans’ long association with the club. Dafydd has been a very popular member of the squad since he first joined the club from Bangor City in September 1994 having previously been a trainee at Watford. During his first spell at the club, he established himself as a creative central midfield player playing for three seasons in the then League of Wales. He left for a time to join Glantraeth but later returned and enjoyed his best season for the club in the promotion season of 2002-03. Dafydd was a vital cog in the machine which ran away with the Cymru Alliance title and a deadly spot kick expert who scored nine times in that season. He was an excellent passer of the ball, an unselfish player who always had a good eye for an opening. Now, at thirty-three, he has retired from football at this level after making 152 appearances for Port in the Welsh Premier -37 as substitute- and scoring on five occasions. His presence at Porthmadog, both as a player and a person, will be missed. We understand that he will continue playing for his home club of Llanfairpwll and we wish him well. Thanks Dafydd for your efforts on behalf of this club and best wishes for the future.
