Defnydd o’r Ganolfan Sgiliau a’r Clwb yn cynyddu / Skills Centre and Clubhouse bookings increase

Mae 837 o bobol wedi ddefnyddio cyfleusterau Canolfan Sgiliau Osian Roberts a chlwb cymdeithasol CPD Porthmadog ar gyfer hyfforddiant, cyflwyniadau a chyfarfodydd rhwng mis Gorffennaf llynedd a diwedd Mawrth eleni cyfnod o dim ond 9 mis.
Mae’r defnyddwyr yn amrywio o Llywodraeth Cymru/Mudiad Meithrin, Cyngor Sir Gwynedd, Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Bwrdd Iechyd Betsi Cadwalader, Mantell Gwynedd, Prifysgol y Drydydd Oes, Addysg Oedolion Cymru, Ymddiriedolaeth Peldroed Cymru, cwmniau preifat a’r clwb ei hunain.
Mis Gorffennaf llynedd penodwyd Louise Todd i’r swydd o hyrwyddo a datblygu gweithgareddau y Ganolfan Sgiliau gyda chymorth ariannol gan CIST Gwynedd. Mae’r broses o ddatblygu’r gwaith ymhellach eisoes ar y gweill ac bydd pamffledyn hyrwyddo bwrpasol ar gael yn ystod yr wythnos nesaf.
Un o’r rhesymau am y poblogrwydd yw y ffaith bod 10 cyfrifiadur, 10 I-Pad a chyfleusterau technoleg ar gael yng Nghanolfan Sgiliau Osian Roberts gyda’r defnydd yn rhad ac am ddim wedi ei gynnwys yn y pris hurio. Os oes diddordeb gennych mewn hurio’r Ganolfan neu y clwb cymdeithasol am gyfarfod, hyfforddiant, cynhadledd neu unrhyw weithgaredd arall cysylltwch a Louise Todd ar 07469217872 neu bookhireportfc@yahoo.com

837 people have attended a range of training, conferences and presentation events at the Osian Roberts Skills Centre and Porthmadog FC social club between July last year and March this year, a nine month period.
Users have included the Welsh Government, Mudiad Meithrin, Gwynedd Council, Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Betsi Cadwalader Health Board, Mantell Gwynedd, University of the 3rd Age, Adult Learning Wales, FAW Trust, private companies and the Club itself.
Last July Louise Todd was appointed to promote and manage these activities with the financial support of CIST Gwynedd. Work on further increasing the use is underway and a promotional leaflet will be available next week.
One of the main reasons for its success is the fact that the Osian Roberts Skills Centre has 10 lap top computers, 10 I-Pads and other technology equipment the use of which is included in the hire fee. If you are interested in hiring the Skills Centre or Clubhouse for training, conferences, meetings or presentations contact Louise Todd on 07469217872 or at bookhireportfc@yahoo.com

Rhagolwg / Preview: Rhuthun

Pnawn Sadwrn byddwn yn croesawu Rhuthun I’r Traeth. Wrth ddod i’r gêm hon bydd Port yn cymryd dipyn go-lew o hyder o’r perfformiadau diweddar. Mae dweud eu bod wedi casglu 6 phwynt mewn pedwar diwrnod ond yn cychwyn yr hanes. Roedd dod â record di-guro cartref Cegidfa i ben gyda 10 dyn am yr hanner awr olaf, yn dipyn o gamp. Roedd yna berfformiadau arbennig yn y cefn ac yn y blaen gyda Sion Bradley yn arwain y ffordd gyda’i goliau pwysig. Yn y cefn cafwyd perfformiadau arwrol, wrth i’r ymosodiadau ddod a dod yn ddibaid. Mae’r ddwy fuddugoliaeth yn mynd a record ddiweddar Port yn 5 buddugoliaeth o’r 6 gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf.
Ni fydd yn gêm hawdd pnawn Sadwrn gan fod Rhuthun wedi synnu llawer efo’u perfformiadau y tymor. Mae’r rheolwr Chris Williams yn datblygu nifer o dalentau ifanc lleol, ac enillodd Rhuthun ddigonedd o ffrindiau ac edmygwyr gyda’u perfformiad yng Nghwpan Cymru yn erbyn Llandudno, gêm a ddangoswyd yn fyw ar Sgorio.
Un o’u talentau mwyaf disglair ydy Llyr Morris. Mae ar frig rhestr sgorwyr yr HGA gyda 26 gôl. Yn y gêm gyfatebol ar y Caeau Coffa, gêm gyfartal 2-2 a gafwyd, gyda 10 dyn Ruthun yn brwydro ‘nol i rhannu’r pwyntiau. Llyr Morris sgoriodd y gôl bwysig i fynd efo’i gic o’r smotyn yn yr hanner cyntaf.
Gyda nifer o gemau mewn llaw dros rhai o’r 6 uchaf yn y tabl, bydd Port yn awyddus i wthio mlaen a chlosio atynt. C’mon Port!

On Saturday we welcome Ruthin Town to the Traeth. Port will take more than a little confidence from recent performances as they approach this fixture. Six points in the space of four days after a six-week enforced lay off, only begins to tell the story. To end Guilsfield’s unbeaten home record with 10 men for the last half-hour was no little achievement. There were great individual performances in both defence and attack with Sion Bradley leading the way up front with his five goals over the last two games and a magnificent defensive rear guard action when the chips were down and the relentless attacks bearing down on the Port goal. These two victories take Port’s current league run to five wins out of six games.
Ruthin will present Port with a very tricky fixture as they have surprised many with the quality of their performances this season Under manager Chris Williams they earned themselves many friends and admirers with their performance against Llandudno in the live televised Welsh Cup tie against Llandudno shown on Sgorio.
One of their brightest talents this season is Llyr Morris, with the young striker topping the League scoring chart with a current total of 26 league goals. The corresponding game at Memorial Fields ended in a 2-2 draw with 10-man Ruthin coming from 2-1 down to earn themselves a share of the points with a late equaliser from that man Llyr Morris.
With games in hand over several of the teams above them in the table, Port will be looking to push on and close the gap. C’mon Port!

Rhagolwg: Cegidfa / Preview: Guilsfield

Wedi wythnosau heb gêm, gallai Port fod yn chwarae eu hail gêm gynghrair mewn dim ond 4 diwrnod wrth iddynt deithio i Gegidfa. Ond rhag ofn inni demtio ffawd gwell fyddai ychwanegu’r geiriau -os fydd y tywydd yn caniatáu.
Gall carfan Port gymryd dipyn o hyder o’r perfformiad nos Fercher, perfformiad arbennig o dda o ystyried y cyfnod hir heb gêm. Roedd yn berfformiad ymosodol cryf gyda’r tri yn y blaen Joe Chaplin, Sion Bradley a Julian Williams yn arwain y ffordd ond gan gofio hefyd y perfformiadau cadarn a gafwyd yng ngweddill y cae.
Yng Nghegidfa bydd angen i Port adeiladu ar y perfformiad yma gan fod clwb Clos Mytton yn cael tymor arall ardderchog. Ar hyn o bryd maent yn y 3ydd safle gyda 10 pwynt yn fwy na Port ond wedi chwarae 3 gêm yn fwy sy’n dangos fod y tywydd wedi cael llai o effaith ar eu tymor. Yn y gêm gyfatebol ar Y Traeth, Cegidfa gafodd y fuddugoliaeth o 2-1 a hynny diolch i berfformiad amddiffynnol arbennig, Pan cyfarfu’r ddau llynedd ar Clos Mytton Port cafodd y gorau ohoni diolch i goliau Sion Bradley a Meilir Williams. Gallwn wynebu dau o gyn chwaraewyr Port pnawn Sadwrn os bydd Stuart Rogers ac Asa Hamilton yn eu carfan.
Gêm anodd ond C’mon Port!

Heady days these, for on Saturday we could after weeks of inaction be playing our second league fixture in just four days when we visit Guilsfield on Saturday. But in case we are getting ahead of ourselves we better add the weather permitting proviso.
The Port squad will be buoyed by their performance on Wednesday which was highly creditable especially considering the length of time without a game. It was an excellent all out attacking performance with the front three of Sion Bradley, Joe Chaplin and Julian Williams leading the way but also backed up by some solid performances elsewhere on the field.
At Guilsfield they will need to build on this performance as the Guils are having another great season. Currently placed 3rd in the table with 10 points more than Port but having played three more games, which shows that their season, unlike Port’s, has not been ground to a halt by the weather. The Guils won the corresponding fixture at the Traeth by 2-1, thanks to some excellent defending and in contrast in last season’s game at Clos Mytton Port picked up the three points, thanks to goals from Sion Bradley and Meilir Williams. In the Guils squad will include two former Port players in Stuart Rogers and Asa Hamilton.
It will be a tough one but C’mon Port!

Rhagolwg: Caergybi / Preview: Holyhead Hotspurs

Caergybi Os wnaiff y tywydd gwlyb yma ildio am ‘chydig, a gadael llonydd i gemau Port, nos Fercher nesaf (14 Mawrth) byddwn yn croesawu Caergybi i’r Traeth a daw hyn a phendraw ar gyfnod eithriadol o 39 niwrnod heb gêm go-iawn.
Bu’n gyfnod anodd iawn i chwaraewyr ac i’r tîm reoli, yn cadw’n ffit ac yn gwneud paratoadau am gemau sydd yn y diwedd ddim yn cael eu chwarae.
Mae Port a’r Hotspyrs eisoes wedi chwarae ei gilydd ddwywaith y tymor hwn gyda clwb Ynys Cybi yn ennill y ddwy. Yn ôl ym mis Awst chwaraewyd gêm gyffrous yng Nghwpan MG gyda Caergybi yn mynd drwodd o 5-3. Wedyn cyfarfod eto mewn 3 wythnos ar yr Ynys â’r Hotspyrs yn ennill eto mewn gwynt a glaw dychrynllyd.
Tra fu Port yn dioddef gohiriadau, mae Caergybi wedi bod yn fwy ffodus efo’r tywydd ond yn ennill ond unwaith yn eu chwe gêm ddiwethaf.
Bysedd wedi croesi at nos Fercher. C’mon Port!

If the weather relents and stops singling out our fixtures for another deluge then next Wednesday, (14 March), when Holyhead Hotspurs are the visitors, we could end an unprecedented 39-day period without kicking a ball in a serious match.
It has been a difficult time for the players and the management team, keeping fit and preparing for fixtures that don’t materialise. Fingers crossed for some dry weather between now and Wednesday and we get this game played.
Port and Hotspurs have already met twice this season, with the Islanders coming out on top on both occasions. Way back in August the two met in an MG Cup tie with Hotspurs winning a thrilling contest by 5-3. Then three weeks later in a league fixture Holyhead repeated the win on their own ground, a game which was played in gale force winds and horizontal rain.
While Port have suffered serial cancellations, Holyhead have been more fortunate with the weather but have been in a poor run of form lately winning only once in their last six games Let’s hope for a game on Wednesday and C’mon Port!

Dan 18 ar y brig / U 18s back on top

Dringodd tîm Dan 18 Port yn ôl i frig tabl Cynghrair Ieuenctid Dyffryn Clwyd a Chonwy wrth sicrhau buddugoliaeth o 2-1 dros Llanberis heddiw. Gêm oedd hon rhwng y cyntaf a’r ail yn y tabl. Roedd dwy gôl gan Rhys Hughes yn ddigon i sicrhau’r pwyntiau. Daeth y gyntaf o gic rhydd ar ôl 37 munud. Ond ychydig fewn i’r ail hanner daeth Llanberis â’r sgôr yn gyfartal. Daeth ail gôl Rhys Hughes ar ôl 71 munud i ennill y gêm.
Mae’r fuddugoliaeth yn gadael Port mewn safle cryf ar y blaen i Llanberis ar wahaniaeth goliau ond gyda dwy gêm mewn llaw ac yn dal yn ddi-guro.

Port move back to the top of the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy U 18 league with a 2-1 win over Llanberis in this afternoon’s game between the division’s top two clubs. Two goals from Rhys Hughes helped to secure the victory. His first came from a free kick on 37 minutes but early in the second period Llanberis drew level. But with 71 minutes gone Rhys Hughes netted the winner.
The win moves Port above their opponents on goal difference and leaves them in a strong position with two games in hand and still unbeaten.

Gohirio gêm arall / Another gêm OFF

Bu’n rhaid gohirio gêm heddiw yn Penrhyncoch yn dilyn archwilaid o’r cae am 11 am.
Croesi bysedd am y gêm gartref nos Fercher yn erbyn Caergybi cic gyntaf am 8 pm.

Rhagolwg / Preview: v CPD Penrhyncoch

Penrhyncoch Os wnaiff y tywydd mawr gaeafol ildio bydd Port yn teithio I chwarae Penrhyncoch pnawn Sadwrn a, gyda lwc, cawn chwarae y gêm gynghrair gyntaf ers y 3ydd o Chwefror. Ond mae ein gwrthwynebwyr o Geredigion wedi bod yn chwarae. Nos Fercher sicrhawyd pwynt mewn gêm gartref gyfartal 2-2 gyda Caersws tra Sadwrn diwethaf cawsant fuddugoliaeth dda yng Nghaergybi o 3-2 mewn brwydr agos. Nid lle hawdd i fynd iddo bydd Cae Baker pnawn Sadwrn, a fel arfer disgwyliwn tipyn o frwydr am y pwyntiau.
Bydd Port, ar ôl cyfnod mor hir heb gêm o ddifri, yn edrych ymlaen am gêm, ond yn ymwybodol mai dim ond perfformiad ar ben eu gêm fydd yn ddigon da i ennill pwyntiau ar Gae Baker. Yn dilyn y gêm ar 3 Chwefror, byddai’r chwaraewyr, a’r tîim reoli, wedi croesawu cyfle cynnar i neidio yn ôl ar gefn y ceffyl. Yn lle bu’n rhaid oedi am 5 wythnos, ac erbyn hyn gobeithio, byddant i gyd yn dechrau cynhyrfu yn y tresu er waetha’r diffyg gemau. Gobeithio pnawn Sadwrn cawn weld perfformiad tebyg i’r un a gafwyd ar y Traeth pan sicrhawyd buddugoliaeth o 3-0. C’mon Port!!

If this winter wonderland ends, Port will visit Penrhyncoch on Saturday for what will be their first league fixture since the 3rd February. Our hosts, though, have been in action, having played on Wednesday, when they drew at home with Caersws and also last Saturday when they gained an excellent away victory over Holyhead Hotspur by 3-2 in a tight contest. Penrhyncoch is never an easy place to visit and as usual we can expect another serious battle for the points on Saturday.
Port, following their enforced February break, will be itching to get back into league action but will only be too aware that only a top performance will be good enough at Cae Baker. After the 3rd February, Port would have welcomed a quick leap back into the saddle but instead they have had to wait five whole weeks without completing a fixture. Let’s hope that, that length of time means they will be champing at the bit despite the lack of match practice. They will be looking to find the kind of form which gave them a 3-0 win at the Traeth. C’mon Port!!

Prosiect Llythrennedd a Rhifedd / FITC Numeracy and Literacy Project

Mae 624 o ddisgyblion ysgolion cynradd gwledig De Gwynedd wedi cymeryd rhan ym mhrosiect Llythrennedd a Rhifedd cynllun ‘Peldroed yn y Gymuned’ CPD Porthmadog rhwng mis Mawrth 2017 a diwedd mis Chwefror eleni.
Manteisiodd 32 o ysgolion lleol ar y gwasanaeth a ddarparwyd yn rhad ac am ddim drwy gefnogaeth ariannol oddi wrth Sefydliad Cymunedol Cymru/Comic Relief, Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd, Prifysgol Bangor a CIST Gwynedd.
‘Roedd y cwrs yn cynnwys 4 sesiwn dwy awr yn yr ysgol gyda’r pwnc yn cael ei gyflwyno trwy ddefnyddio pêl-droed fel y cyfrwng ac wedyn cynhaliwyd y sesiwn olaf, y bumed, yng Nghanolfan Sgiliau Osian Roberts yn stadiwm y Traeth.
Yn ol Gethin Jones, swyddog Peldroed yn y Gymuned y Clwb, “bu’r cwrs yn llwyddiant ysgubol gyda’r disgyblion oherwydd natur unigryw ond perthnasol y cyflwyniad. Bu ymateb yr athrawon a’r ysgolion hefyd yn gadarnhaol dros ben. ‘Rydym yn falch ein bod wedi cael cyfle i gynnig y ddarpariaeth i’n ysgolion lleol a diolchwn i’r noddwyr”

A total of 624 pupils and 32 individual schools in rural South Gwynedd took part in Porthmadog FC’s ‘Football in the Community’s’ Numeracy and Literacy project between March 2017 and the end of February this year.
This was delivered free of charge through financial support from Community Foundation in Wales/Comic Relief, Gwynedd Social Housing, Bangor University and CIST Gwynedd.
The course consisted of four two hour sessions at the respective schools with the final fifth held at the Osian Roberts Skills Centre at the Traeth Stadium. The course was delivered by using football as the vehicle to develop participants’ numeracy and literacy skills.
According to the Club’s Football in the Community officer, Gethin Jones “The course has been a tremendous success with the young students really warming to the way literacy and numeracy was presented, using the football industry as the vehicle. It was unique and, of course, very relevant to them. The response from individual teachers and schools too has been overwhelming. We are pleased that we have been able to offer the provision and sincerely thank our sponsors for their support”
