Colli un o ser y 60egau / Sad loss of a 60’s legend

Trist oedd clywed am farwolaeth un o sêr tîm Mel Charles o’r 1960egau, Dave McCarter o Bethesda, ar ol gwaeledd byr dros y penwythnos. Asgellwr dawnus, cyffrous, llawn sgiliau a sydyn oedd Dave ‘roddodd sawl hunllef i amddiffynwyr Gogledd Cymru. Fe chwaraeodd hefyd gyda tîm amatur Cymru. ‘Roedd yn sgoriwr cyson ac un o’r rhai bythgofiadwy oedd yr un a sgoriodd yn erbyn tîm llawn proffesiynol Abertawe mewn gem wyth olaf Cwpan Cymru at y Traeth yn rhoi Port ar y blaen yn fuan a hynny o flaen torf o 3,000. Yn anffodus unionwyd y sgor yn y munudau olaf gan seren rhyngwladol Cymru, Ivor Allchurch. Yn yr ail chwarae colli 5-0 oedd ein tynged. Mae cydymdeimlad y Clwb gyda’r teulu. Cynhelir y cynhebrwng yn Amlosgfa Bangor am 10.30 y bore, dydd Sadwrn nesaf, y 4ydd o Fawrth.

With sadness the news was received of the death, after a brief illness, of a Port 60’s legend over the weekend. David McCarter was a member of the famous Mel Charles team of the mid 1960’s. Dave was a talented, speedy and exciting winger who terrorised many defences in the north of Wales. He also played for the Wales amateur team. Dave was a regular scorer and one of his most memorable goals was the one he scored at the Traeth to put Port 1-0 up against a full strength professional Swansea side in the Quarter Final of the Welsh Cup in front of 3,000 spectators. Unfortunately the Swans equalised in the final minutes with Welsh international, Ivor Allchurch, netting. Port lost the replay 5-0. The Club’s sympathy is extended to the family. The funeral will be held at 10.30am this Saturday 4th. Of March at the Bangor Crematorium.

Yn anffodus oherwydd salwch un o’r ddeuawd oedd i ymddangos, bu rhaid gohirio y noson San Padraig oedd i’w chynnal yn y Clwb Cymdeithasol ar nos Sadwrn 18ed o Fawrth. Rhagolwg / Preview: Fflint

Mae Port yn edrych ymlaen at ymweld â Cae Castell pnawn Sadwrn i chwarae ein cyfeillion yn Y Fflint. Bydd hon yn gêm rhwng y trydydd a’r pumed yn y tabl. Yn ystod y chwe gêm ddiwethaf dim on unwaith mae Fflint wedi colli a hynny yn erbyn Rhuthun sydd wedi cael adfywiad diweddar. Hefyd cawsant gêm gyfartal yn Llanfair on ennill y gweddill. Maent wedi ennill y ddwy ddiwethaf yn erbyn Caergybi a hefyd Bwcle y Sadwrn diwethaf. Mae ganddynt garfan brofiadol ac yn mwynhau tymor da iawn.
Bydd angen i Port wella ar eu perfformiadau diweddar yn colli tair o’u pedair gêm ddiwethaf. Hyn yn diyn rhediad da a’u cododd i’r 3ydd safle. Ond er yn colli i Brestatyn roedd yna lawer i’w ganmol yn y perfformiad, gyda’r canlyniad yn y fantol tan y gôl hwyr a gadarhaodd y fuddugoliaeth i Brestatyn. A hynny er waethaf i Port orfod chwarae efo 10 dyn am gyfnod hir yn yr ail hanner. Yn y Fflint fydd Port heb y chwaraewr ganol cae dylanwadol Gareth Jones Evans sydd wedi’i wahardd. Ond ar ôl chwarae am 20 munud pnawn Sadwrn diwethaf bydd Ceri James yn ôl i angori canol cae. C’mon Port!

Port look forward to visiting Cae y Castell on Saturday for the game with our friends at Flint Town United. This will be a contest between the third and fifth placed clubs. Flint’s form over the last six games shows only one defeat -against a revived Ruthin Town- and also includes a draw against unpredictable Llanfair United. In their last two outings they recorded wins at Holyhead and at home to Buckley last weekend. They have a strong experienced squad and are having a great season.
Port will need to improve after a poor run has seen them lose three of their last four games. This after a previous good run had taken them up to third. However the performance against Prestatyn last Saturday was not without its pluses and, despite going down to 10 men, the result was in doubt until Prestatyn got a very late goal to seal the result. At Flint hey will be without influential midfielder Gareth Jones Evans who is suspended, but Ceri James should be back after coming on for 20 minutes last Saturday. C’mon Port.

Contract proffesiynol i Leo / A pro-contract for Leo

“Porthmadog-based attacking midfielder ties himself to the club.....” meddai gwefan swyddogol clwb Wrecsam wrth i Leo Smith arwyddo ei gytundeb proffesiynol cyntaf i’r clwb.
Llongyfarchiadau enfawr i Leo sydd wedi cymryd cam mawr ymlaen at wneud gyrfa iddo hun mewn pêl-droed. Meddai’r rhelowr Dean Keates, sydd hefyd wedi arwyddo cytundeb newydd, “Rwy’n falch ei fod wedi arwyddo. Mae gennyf obeithion mawr iddo. Rwy’n hapus i weld un arall o’r ieuenctid yn dod drwodd. Mae ganddo ddyfodol disglair yn y gêm.”
Y tymor hwn mae Leo wedi cael lle yng ngharfan y tîm cyntaf ac wedi cymryd ei gyfle gyda nifer o berfformiadau arbennig.
Mae cyn chwaraewr Academi Port yn esiampl dda i chwaraewyr presennol yr Academi, fod yna lwybr o’r Traeth i’r gêm broffesiynol, dim ond iddynt weithio’n galed a datblygu eu talentau.

“Porthmadog based attacking midfielder ties himself to club ....” says the Wrexham FC official website as Leo Smith signs his first pro-contract for the club.
Massive congratulations to Leo who has taken a huge step forward towards making a career for himself in the game. His manager Dean Keates who has also signed a new contract said, “I’m glad he put pen to paper as he is a player I have high hopes for. I’m delighted to see another of the youth players pushing through the ranks and he has a bright future in the game.”
This season Leo has broken into the first team squad and has taken the opportunity turning in some outstanding performances.
The former Port Academy player is a fine example for current Academy players that if they have the talent and are prepared to work hard, a pathway exists to move from the Traeth to the professional game.

Rhagolwg / Preview: Prestatyn

Prif gêm y dydd pnawn Sadwrn nesaf fydd yr un ar Y Traeth, pan ddaw Prestatyn a’u record diguro i wynbeu sialens arall ar y ffordd i deitl yr HGA. Port ydy un o ddau glwb yn unig -Dinbych ydy’r llall- i gymryd pwyntiau oddi ar Prestatyn. Mae’r rheolwr Neil Gibson wedi arwain y clwb ar daith rhyfeddol y tymor hwn, yn sgorio 94 o goliau, cyfartaledd o fwy na 4 gôl y gêm. Maent ar dop y tabl yn agor mantais o 16 pwynt dros y gweddill, a hynny heb esgeuluso’r amddiffyn sydd hefyd y gorau yn y gynghrair. Daw’r peryg mwyaf o’u sgorwyr rheolaidd sydd wedi taro ffigyrau dwbl ddwywaith y tymor hwn. Mae ganddynt chwaraewyr sy’n sgorio am hwyl Jordon Davies(26) yn arwain y ffordd a Jack Kenny (17) yn dilyn, a dau arall hefyd yn cyrraedd ffigyrau dwbl. Y newyddion da ydy fod yr un o’r pedwar wedi sgorio yn erbyn Port pan gyfarfu’r ddau ar Erddi Bastian mewn gêm gyfartal 1-1. Bydd Port yn gwybod beth i ddisgwyl pnawn Sadwrn gyda’r bêl yn cael ei symud yn gyflym o’r cefn i’r blaen at eu blaenwyr peryglus a bydd yna hefyd dipyn o brawf dan y bêl uchel sy’n ddigon i brofi unrhyw amddiffyn. Ond y Sadwrn diwethaf roedd angen gôl yn yr amser ychwanegol ar Brestatyn i guro Caersws.
Yn dilyn rhediad da o 5 buddugoliaeth mewn 6 gêm mae Port wedi taro ar gyfnod anghyson yn ennill ond un o’r tair gêm ddiwethaf. Chwaraewyr ddim ar gael oedd rhan o’r broblem, ac roedd hyn yn effeithio ar allu’r rheolwr i ddylanwadu ar y gêm o’r fainc. Gyda mwy o chwaraewyr yn ôl yn y garfan, bydd y prawf yn erbyn Prestatyn y math o sialens sydd angen arnynt. C’mon Port!

This weekend’s game of the day will be at the Traeth when Prestatyn Town bring their unbeaten record to face another challenge along the road to the HGA title. Port are one of only two clubs to take points off the Seasiders this season, the other being Denbigh Town. Manager Neil Gibson has led the club on a remarkable charge this season, scoring 94 goals at an astonishing average of more than 4 goals a game. They top the table, opening up a huge lead of 16 points and neither have they neglected the defensive side of their game as with 22 goals conceded they also have the best defensive record in the league. Their main threat comes from their free scoring forwards hitting double figures on two occasions. They have a group of forwards who have been scoring for fun Jordon Davies(26) leads the way followed by Jack Kenny(17) and two more have reached double figures. The good news is that none of the four scored against Port when the two clubs met at Bastian Gardens and drew 1-1. Port will at least know what to expect on Saturday, with the ball being moved quickly from back to front to get their freescoring forwards into the action and, in addition, there will be the usual aerial challenge which will test the defensive mettle. Last time out however the seasiders needed an added time goal to beat off a Caersws challenge.
Port, following a good run of five wins in six games, have returned to more inconsistent mode with one win and two defeats in their last three. Player unavailability has been part of the reason for this affecting the manager’s ability to influence things from the bench. With more players hopefully returning to what is a very strong squad, this test against a rampant Prestatyn could be just the challenge they need. C’mon Port!

Gôl Rob / Rob’s goal

Roedd yna ychydig o ansicrwydd ynglyn a sgoriwr gôl Port yn Treffynnon. Cyhoeddywd mai Cai Jones oedd wedi sgorio er fod llawer o’r farn mae gôl Rob Evans gyda’i ergyd o ymyl y bocs oedd hi gan daro Cai ar ei ffordd i’r rhwyd.
Dyma ymateb swyddogol Craig, “Yn bendant gol i Rob Evans! A dylai fod wedi ennill y gêm ail hanner siomedig.”
There was some dispute last Saturday at Holywell over who scored for Port. The PA announcment gave the goal to Cai Jones though many were of the view that Rob Evans, with his drive from just outside the box, appeared to be the scorer taking a deflection off Cai on its way into the net.
Here Craig gives his ‘official verdict’, “It was definitely a Rob Evans goal ! It should've been the winner , disappointing second half.”

Gêm gyfeillgar / Friendly match

Sgôr terfynnol y gêm gyfeillgar yn erbyn Ynys Môn ar Faes Tegid y Bala heno oedd Ynys Môn 6:3 Port. Y sgorwyr i Port oedd Sion Bradley, Meilir Williams a Joe Williams. Cymysgfa oedd carfan Port o chwaraewyr tîm cyntaf a Dan 19.

The final score in tonight’s friendly at Maes Tegid, Bala was Ynys Môn 6:3 Port. Scorers for Port were Sion Bradley, Meilir Williams and Joe Williams. The Port squad was a mixture od first team players and U19s.

Gêm gyfeillgar gyda Ynys Môn / Friendly match with Anglesey Squad

Bydd Port yn chwarae tîm Ynys Môn nos Fercher ar gae Maes Tegid, Y Bala. Bydd y gic gyntaf am 8 o’r gloch. Bydd y gêm yn gyfle i Gareth Parry, rheolwr tîm yr Ynys, i baratoi ar gyfer Gemau’r Ynysoedd a gynhelir yn Gotland eleni.
Bydd y gêm hefyd yn gyfle i nifer o chwaraewyr Dan 19 brofi eu hunain a gan fod nifer o anafiadau i garfan tîm cyntaf ar hyn o bryd, gall fod yn gyfle iddynt wthio eu ffordd i’r brif garfan. Bydd hefyd yn gyfle i ddau oedd ddim ar gael pnawn Sadwrn, Ceri James a Steve Bratt, i gael ymarfer mewn sefyllfa gêm.
Mae Gruff John eisoes allan gyda anaf, gyda Iddon a Chris hefyd yn cario anafiadau yn dilyn y gêm yn erbyn Caergybi a Tom Clarke wedi cael anaf ddoe yn Treffynnon. Mae Gareth Jones Evans wedi cael trafferth gyda’i ffêr ers sawl wythnos ac yn aros am law driniaeth bydd yn ei gadw allan am rhyw chwe wythnos.

Port will play Gareth Parry's Anglesey team this coming Tuesday at MaesTegid, Bala with an 8pm Kick off. Craig says that there are several reasons for playing the game:
“Gareth is selecting an Anglesey side to travel to the Gotland Games 2017 and in preparation for this he has arranged games to trial his squad. They have already played Bala Town and we are their next opponents.
“I will be using this opportunity to bring in 5/6 of the U19 players and it will allow me to have a really good look at them and see how much they have developed this season so far. The current 1st team squad is short on numbers and there is an chance for these young boys to push into the side and take this opportunity.
“We are currently missing Gruff John through injury , Iddon (dead leg) and Chris (ankle) are both carrying knocks from the mid week game against Holyhead. Tom Clarke strained his hamstring in yesterday's disappointing defeat against Holywell and Gareth Jones Evans has been struggling with his ankle for a few weeks now and can't seem to shake it off , he has an operation scheduled at the end of this month and he could be out for at least 6 weeks but we hope for a positive outcome.
“Ceri James who was absent on holiday and Ste Bratt through work will both return to get important match fitness under their belt.

Rhagolwg: Treffynnon / Preview: Holywell Town

Pnawn Sadwrn bydd Port yn tiethio i Ffordd Helygain, Treffynnon. Bydd y clwb o Sir Fflint yn gosod sialens anodd. Agos iawn fu’r gemau rhwng y ddau yn ddiweddar. Yn y ddwy gêm ddiwethaf rhwng y ddau ar Y Traeth, roedd un gôl yn ddigon i Port sicrhau buddugoliaethau, tra cyfartal oedd hi yn Nhreffynnon y tymor diwthaf. Ar hyn o bryd mae Treffynnon yn union yng nghanol y tabl yn yr 8fed safle ond o ystyried record y clwb o dan y rheolwr John Hazelden gallwn ddisgwyl iddynt ddringo tipyn erbyn diwedd y tymor. Eu buddgoliaeth dros Dinbych o 4-0, y Sadwrn ddiwethaf, oedd y gyntaf yn y 10 gêm ddiwethaf ond yn awgrymu fod y rhediad gwael tu ôl iddyn nhw. Sgoriodd cyn chwaraewr Port Jamie McDaid, gan chwarae rhan allweddol yn y gêm.
Yn dilyn y golled siomedig y penwythnos diwethaf yn erbyn Conwy, daeth y balchder yn ôl i chwarae Port gyda buddugoliaeth o 3-0 dros Caergybi, clwb a fu ar rhediad da yn ddiweddar. Cafwyd tair gôl o safon, sydd yn awgrymu fod yna flaenwyr yn y clwb sydd yn barod i ateb yr alwad a daeth yn sgil chwaraewyr yn gadael y clwb yn ddiweddar. O ganlyniad i’r fuddugoliaeth mae Port yn y 3ydd safle a bellach yn llygadu’r ail safle. C’mon Port!!

On Saturday Port will travel to Halkyn Road, Holywell. The Flintshire club will provide another tough test and recent games between the two clubs have been very tight affairs with a single goal being enough to settle the last two games at the Traeth in Port’s favour, while last season’s meeting at Halkyn Road ended in a draw. Holywell currently stand exactly halfway up the table in 8th spot but given the Wellmen’s record under manager John Hazelden we can expect them to be moving up the table. Last weekend’s win 4-0 over Denbigh Town gave them their first win in 10 games and suggests that their poor run is behind them. Former Port forward Jamie McDaid found the net for them and played a prominent part in the victory.
Port, following a disappointing defeat to Conwy Borough last Saturday, restored pride with a 3-0 win over in form Holyhead Hotspur. The three high quality goals suggest that there are forwards in the club ready to step up and meet the challenge brought about by recent transfers out of the club. This win lifted Port into third spot in the table and they will be looking to maintain their challenge for second place. C’mon Port!!

Rhagolwg: Caergybi / Preview: Holyhead Hotspurs

Caergybi fydd yn ymweld â’r Traeth nos Fercher. Adrefnwyd y gêm hon er mwyn i’r gêm Cwpan Huws Gray gael ei chwarae ar Sadwrn 4 Mawrth. Bydd Y clwb o Ynys Môn yn teithio’n llawn hyder yn dilyn eu buddugoliaeth dros Caernarfon y Sadwrn diwethaf. Yn wir ar ôl dechrau araf i’r tymor mae’r Hotspyrs ar rhediad ardderchog yn ennill y tair ddiwethaf yn olynol ac ond wedi colli un o’u 8 gêm ddiwethaf. Yn y gêm flaenorol rhwng y ddau, enillodd Port o 3-1 gyda Jamie McDaid yn rhwydo ddwywaith a Gareth Jones Evans yn sgorio’r llall, Er nad yw’n gêm ddarbi mae’r ffaith fod eu rheolwr Craig Harrison, yn gyn chwaraewr ag is-reolwr gyda Port, a Rhys Roberts yn gyn gapten, yn ychwanegu ychydig o sbeis i’r gêm. Ar hyn o bryd mae Caergybi yn y 9fed safle, sef 4 lle yn is na Port gyda 9 yn llai o bwyntiau.
Gobeithio mae blip yn unig oedd y chwarae siomedig a gafwyd wrth golli ar Y Traeth pnawn Sadwrn diwethaf. Bydd gêm nos Fercher yn rhoi cyfle buan i geisio dychwelyd at y math o chwarae a gafwyd yn ystod y rhediad da diweddar. Ond mae gan y Monwysion ddigon o dalent yn eu carfan, a gallwn ddisgwyl gêm cystadleuol iawn, C’mon Port!

Holyhead Hotspurs will be the visitors to the Traeth on Wednesday for a re-arranged fixture. This is to accomodate the Huws Gray Cup tie between the two clubs on Saturday, 4 March. Holyhead will travel, on Wednesday, full of confidence, following their win over Caernarfon Town last Saturday. Hotspurs, after making a poor start to the season, have really turned things around, winning the last three and losing just once in their last eight games. The two clubs have already met this season, with Port the winners by 3-1 in a tight, rather scrappy affair. Two goals from, the now departed, Jamie McDaid and another from Gareth Jones Evans were enough to give Port all three points. . Though not exactly a local derby, there is always a keen edge to matches between the two clubs. The fact that Hotspurs are managed by former Port player and assistant manager, Campbell Harrison, and have amongst their squad Rhys Roberts, who spent several seasons at the Traeth adds a little more spice to the occasion.
Hotspurs currently lie in 9th place in the table, four below Port, having accumulated 9 fewer points. Port will hope that last Saturday’s disappointing defeat at home to Conwy Borough was just a blip and they will be looking to get back to the form they have shown over the past few weeks. Having a game so soon after that disappointment will provide an early opportunity to try and get the defeat out of the system. But the Anglesey club always have talented players to call upon and we can expect another competitive game on Wednesday. C’mon Port!

Rhagolwg / Preview: Conwy Borough

Bydd Conwy yn ymweld â’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn. Eisoes mae’r ddau glwb wedi cyfarfod ddwywaith yn ystod y tymor. Yn ogystal a’r gêm gynghrair, mae’r ddau glwb wedi cwrdd mewn gêm Cwpan Huws Gray, y ddwy ar y Morfa. Port enillodd y ddwy, 5-1 yn y gynghrair a 4-0 yn y gwpan.
Hyd yma bu’n dymor digon anodd i glwb Conwy ond roedd y pwynt a gafwyd yn erbyn Dinbych y Sadwrn diwethaf yn ddigon i’w codi o waelod y tabl, uwchben Ruthin a Bwcle ar wahaniaeth goliau. Brian Pritchard, cyn reolwr Witton Albion, sydd wrth y llyw ar y Morfa, y 3ydd i’r clwb gael yn ystod y tymor hwn. Mae’r newidiadau yma hefyd wedi arwain at dipyn o newid yng nghynnwys y garfan. Cyn y gêm gyfartal y Sadwrn diwethaf roedd Conwy wedi colli 5 gêm yn olynol ond, heblaw am golli o 11-1 yn erbyn Prestatyn. o un gôl yn unig oedd gweddill y colledion.
Ar y llaw arall bydd Port yn awyddus i barhau â rhediad o 5 buddugoliaeth mewn 6 gêm ac wedi rwydo 20 gwaith yn y cyfnod. Bydd rhaid gwneud heb y blaenwr Josh Davies sydd, fel Julian Williams, wedi penderfynu trio’i lwc ar y lefel a ystyrid yn uwch. Y ddau yma â Jamie McDaid, a adawodd am Dreffynnon, ydy prif sgorwyr y clwb ond yn ffodus mae gan Craig Papirnyk lygad da am chwaraewyr ifanc talentog ac yn barod wedi dod a Sion Bradley a Meilir Williams i’r clwb, Y ddau yma, gyda Cai Jones a Joe Williams, fydd â’r cyfrifoldeb am sgorio’r goliau. Dewch lawr i’r Traeth i gefnogi’r hogiau. C’mon Port.

Conwy Borough are the visitors to the Traeth on Saturday (4 February). The two clubs have already played each other twice this season. As well as meeting in a league fixture at the Morfa they also met in the First Round of the Huws Gray League Cup, which was also played at the Morfa. Both games resulted in wins for Port; by a 5-1 margin in the league encounter and 4-0 in the League Cup.
Conwy have found the current season a struggle though the point gained at home to Denbigh Town last weekend has lifted them from bottom place in the table, above Ruthin Town and Buckley thanks to their better goal difference. Their current manager, Brian Pritchard the former boss at Witton Albion, is their third manager of the season. These managerial changes have also meant a large turnover of players. Before last Saturday’s draw the club were on a run of five straight defeats but all by the odd goal apart from the 11-1 home defeat against free scoring Prestatyn.
Port will be looking to continue a run of five wins in the last six games netting 20 goals in the process. But they will have to do this without forward Josh Davies who like Julian Williams has decided to try his luck at what is considered a higher level. These two, together with Jamie McDaid now at Holywell, were the club’s leading scorers. But fortunately Craig Papirnyk has a keen eye for talented forwards and had already brought in Sion Bradley and Meilir Williams who, together with Cai Jones and Joe Williams, can be relied upon to fill the forward positions. Come down to the Traeth on Saturday and support these talented young players. C’mon Port!

Josh Davies yn ymuno gyda’r Rhyl / Josh Davies to sign for Rhyl FC

Mae Josh Davies yn gadael y clwb i ymuno â’r Rhyl. Mae Craig Papirnyk er yn siomedig efo’r datblygiad yn aros yn bositif wrth edrych i’r dyfodol. Mae Craig wedi rhyddhau y datganiad a gwelir isod.

Josh Davies is to leave the club and join Rhyl FC. Though obviously disappointed Craig Papirnyk remains positive as he looks to the future. He said today:

“I am disappointed to say that Josh Davies has decided to leave for Rhyl FC, he is going to be a big loss for us and it saddens me to see him leave. We have supported him over the past few seasons and he in return has rewarded us with some great goals. I have wished him all the best and I hope he gets the chance to prove his worth at Rhyl. Josh didn’t take the decision lightly but he felt he could not turn down the offer to try it at the WPL level.
“We however will stick together and continue to build on the run that we are having as there is a real confidence amongst the squad and I couldn’t be happier with what we have at the moment. With Josh’s exit this will allow another to step up and we have plenty of quality in the squad to do the job .
“Some might see it as slightly worrying when you think our top 3 scorers have left the club but it does not overly concern me because I believe in the squad and personnel that we have , we look forward now to the weekend and welcoming Conwy to the Traeth .”

Port yn ennill gêm Gyfeillgar / Friendly win for Port

Cafodd Port y fuddugoliaeth heno mewn gêm gyfeillgar yn Y Rhyl o 3-1. Ar yr hanner roedd y gêm yn dal yn ddi-sgôr ond aeth Port ar y blaen ar ôl 55 munud gyda Meilir Williams yn rhwydo’i gôl gyntaf i’r clwb. 7 munud yn ddiweddarach roedd Rhyl yn gyfartal, cyn i Josh Davies rhwydo ar ôl 67 munud i roi Port yn ôl ar y blaen. Aeth Port ymhellach ar y blaen wedi 70 munud wrth i Josh rhwydo eto i wneud y sgôr terfynol yn 3-1.
Trefnwyd y gêm hon gan na fydd gêm gynghrair gan Port dros y penwythnos. Hefyd roedd yn gyfle i chwaraewyr newydd setlo yn y garfan ac i chwaraewyr yn gwella o anafiadau gael amser ar y cae.

Port won the friendly fixture at Rhyl tonight by 3-1. Following a goalless first half Port took the lead on 55 minutes when new signing Meilir Williams netted. This lead was howver wiped out on 62 minutes but five minutes later Josh Davies restored the lead and then went on to add another in the 70th minutes and that proved the end of the scoring with Port the winners by 3-1.
With no game over the weekend, this game was arranged with game time in mind for newly signed players and thoes returning from injury.

Yws yn galw digon / Yws calls it a day

Mae Ywain Gwynedd wedi penderfynu ymddeol o bêl-droed oherwydd yr anaf i’w glin. Wedi cyfnod allan o’r gêm ymunodd Ywain â Port ar ddechrau’r tymor a cyfranodd yn fawr gyda’i frwdfrydedd a’i allu i arwain ar y cae. Mae’n siom fod y cyfnod wedi dod i ben ond diolch i Ywain am ei gyfraniad, a dymunwn yn dda iddo wrth iddo dod a gyrfa ddisglair i ben a chanolbwyntio ar faes cerddoriaeth lle mae hefyd wedi bod yn fwy nag arwr. Isod gweler datganiad Craig yn diolch iddo am ei gyfraniad gwych i Port ac i bêl-droed yng Ngwynedd.

Ywain Gwynedd has decided to call it a day on his fine football career as a result of a persisting hip injury. Following a period out of the game Ywain joined Port at the start of the season and contributed with his great qualities of enthusiam and leadership on the pitch. All at the club would like to thank Ywain as he brings a hugely successful football career to an end and wish him well as he concentrates on his musical career. Craig pays this tribute to Yws Gwynedd as he hangs up his boots:

“He was a pleasure to work with in his brief time with me. His character and personality were great for the squad. He's a true leader on and off the pitch and it is a real shame that due to his hip injury he has announced his retirement!
“I was really pleased when he decided to give it a go for us this season and I was excited to work with him, I knew how his mentality would help us and so it did early on in the season , Yws has had a good career and I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to work with him during it.
“He will be missed amongst his peers, Yws was very popular and a lot of the lads looked up to him . He's a genuine and honest person and one of the nicest people I know. I wish him all of luck in the world for whatever the future holds for him. He is a top top guy and a friend.
Pob Lwc Yws!"

Dod â’r Hogiau ‘nol / Bringing the Boys back

Meilir Williams ydy’r trydydd cyn chwaraewr Academi Port sydd wedi eu denu yn ôl i’r clwb gan Craig Papirnyk. Ers gadael yr Academi mae Meilir wedi chwarae dros Amaturiaid Blaenau, Dan 19 Bala a CPD Penrhyndeudraeth. Mae ganddo record sgorio arbennig ac wedi rhwydo 13 o goliau y tymor hwn yn y Welsh Alliance. Yn ystod ei gyfnod yn Penrhyn sgoriodd 64 o goliau mewn 50 o gemau. Cafodd Sion Bradley gychwyn gwych yn yr HGA yn creu dwy, gôl mewn perfformiad dylanwadol. Ymunodd Tyler French o Penrhyn hefyd, yn gyntaf i lenwi pan gafodd Richard Harvey anaf, ond gwnaeth argraff yn syth gan gynnwys arbed tair cic o’r smotyn yng Nghwpan Cymru i guro Gresffordd. Da cael yr hogiau yn ôl!

Meilir Williams is the third former Port Academy player to be brought back to the club by manager Craig Papirnyk. Since leaving the Academy, Meilir has played for Blaenau Amateurs, Bala U19s and CPD Penrhyndeudraeth. He has an excellent scoring record with 13 Welsh Alliance goals this season. In 50 career appearances for CPD Penrhyn he has netted 64 times. Sion Bradley has made a great start at HGA level with two assists at Buckley in a very influential performance. Tyler French came from Penrhyn to fill in for the injured Richard Harvey but created an instant impression, with some dominant performances including saving three penalties in the Welsh Cup shoot-out against Gresford Athletic. Good to see you all back at the Traeth lads.

Rownd Cyn-derfynnol Cwpan Huws Gray / Huws Gray Cup Semi-Final

Tynnwyd yr enwau o’r het ar gyfer Rownd Cyn-derfynol Cwpan Huws Gray gan Bob Paton, Cadeirydd y Gynghrair.
Fflint v Prestatyn
Caergybi neu Porthmadog v Caernarfon
Gemau i’w chwarae yn ystod mis Mawrth.
Mae’n bosib felly y cawn gêm Ddarbi arall ond cyn cychwyn meddwl am hynny rhaid goresgyn Caergybi ar 4 Mawrth.

The draw for the semi final of the Huws Gray Cup made by league Chairman Bob Paton
Flint Town United v Prestatyn Town
Holyhead Hotspur or Porthmadog v Caernarfon Town
Games to be played in March
Another Gwynedd derby is therefore a possibility but, before we even start thinking about tjat we will need to get past Holyhead Hotspur on 4 March.

Meilir yn ymuno / Meilir signs

Mae Craig wedi symud yn sydyn i arwyddo blaenwr yn dilyn colli Julian Williams. Mae wedi arwyddo Williams arall, sef Meilir Williams sydd wedi sgorio goliau’n rheolaidd i CPD Perhyndeudraeth yn y Welsh Alliance. Fel Tyler French a Sion Bradley mae’n dod o Blaenau Ffestiniog ac wedi bod yn chwaraewr ifanc yn Academi Port. Croeso Meilir. Isod gweler sylwadau Craig yn dilyn arwyddo Meilir ac hefyd yn edrych ymlaen at y gêm pnawn Sadwrn.

Below Craig announces the signing of Meilir Williams from CPD Penrhyndeudraeth and looks ahead to Saturday’s game.

“I've worked to replace Julian and secured the signature of Meilir Williams from Penrhyndeudraeth Mei is their top scorer in the Welsh Alliance and has scored at every level he has played in. The past few senior seasons for Blaenau and Penrhyn have really helped him develop into a quality player who is now a confident young man and like Sion Bradley I have admired Meilir for some while and watched him as a youth player for Blaenau Ffestiniog through to senior level. He is a rare talent who knows where the goal is. At 20yrs old he is fearless and is relishing the opportunity to prove himself at this level !! Meilir is a local lad like Sion and Tyler hails from Blaenau and has represented our Academy , I am looking forward to working with Mei and helping him develop as a player.
“He will come straight into tomorrow's squad. We will also welcome back Dan Roberts, Iddon Price and Ceri James. Gruff John unfortunately will be absent for a further 4-6 weeks.
“Tomorrow we will be looking to continue on the form we have been showing of late, we are focused and want to win every game until the end of the season. The lads are in a good place, full of confidence and the changing room feeling is great !! Last week we put on an entertaining performance for the travelling support and I couldn't have been happier. Let's hope for similar on Saturday at Y Traeth.
“Mold have picked up of late and climbed out of the bottom 4 places, credit to them after a difficult start, I expect a completely different game to the one earlier in the season and we will have to be at our best to take all the points . COME ON PORT !!"

Julian yn gadael / Julian leaves

Julian Williams Mae Julian Williams wedi penderfynu ymuno gyda Bae Colwyn, clwb sy’n chwarae yn Adran Gyntaf y Gogledd o Gynghrair Evostik. Yn siarad bore’ma dywedodd Craig Ppairnyk:
“Rwyf am ddymuno pob lwc i Julian a diolch iddo am y cyfan mae wedi rhoi i’r clwb. Mae’n hogyn arbennig ac roeddwn yn barod iawn i’w gefnogi a’i helpu wrth iddo ddod i’w benderfyniad. Byddwn byth yn rhwystro chwaraewr rhag symud i’r lefel nesaf ac mae’n gwybod os digwydd i bethau beidio gweithio allan iddo, bydd yna ddrws agored yn dal iddo ar Y Traeth. Pob dymuniad da Ju.”
Ers iddo ymuno â’r clw,b ar fenthyg yn gyntaf o’r Rhyl, yn Awst 2015 mae wedi bod yn chwaraewr arbennig iawn. Julian oedd y prif sgoriwr yn 2015/16 ac unwaith eto eleni mae wedi arwain y ffordd gyda 11 o goliau. Mae pawb yn y clwb yn dymuno’n dda iti at y dyfodol Julian.

Julian Williams has decided to leave Port to join Colwyn Bay, who play in the Evostik First Division North. Manager Carig Papirnyk said this morning:
“I would like to wish him all the very best of luck and thank him for everything he's given us at Port. He is a top lad and I was very supportive towards helping him make a decision. I would never stop a player from moving to the next level and he knows that the door will be open at Port should things not work out for him ! All the best Ju.”
Julian has been an outstanding player for Port since first joining on loan from Rhyl FC in August 2015. He was the leading scorer in 2015/16 and has again led the way this season with 11 goals. Everyone at the club wishes Julian the best of luck for the future.

Rhagolwg: Y Wyddgrug / Preview: Mold Alex

Yr Wyddgrug / Mold Alex Clwb Y Wyddgrug, Mold Alex, fydd yn ymweld â’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn, pan fydd Port yn edrych am eu 5ed buddugoliaeth mewn chwe gêm gan barhau i symud i fyny’r tabl. Mae’r cyfanswm o 11 gôl yn y ddwy gêm ddiwethaf yn awgrymu fod Port yn dechrau manteisio ar yr holl feddiant mewn gemau.
Y Wyddgrug oedd ein gwrthwynebwyr cyntaf o’r tymor yn ôl ym mis Awst, gêm a rhoddodd gychwyn delfrydol i’r tymor gyda buddugoliaeth gyfforddus o 6-2. A dyna ichi ddiwrnod i Julian Williams yn sgorio pedair gôl â dwy hefyd i Jamie McDaid.
Ond ym mis Awst oedd hynny, ac erbyn hyn mae pethau wedi gwella’n fawr ar Barc Alyn.Mae Neil Wynne a Mike Cunningham wedi cymryd yr awenau ‘wrth Kenny Irons ac wedi cryfhau’r garfan, Diolch i’r newidiadau yma, erbyn hyn, mae’r clwb wedi codi o’r gwaelodion i fod yn 11eg. Cafodd eu gêm, y penwythnos diwethaf, yn erbyn Penrhyncoch ei ohirio ond ennill dwy a cholli dwy fu eu hanes diweddar. Cafwyd perfformiad da hefyd ar yr Oval wrth golli ond o 2-1. Daeth fuddugoliaeth orau’r tymor wrth guro Llanfair o 5-0 tra cafwyd y golled fwyaf o 12-0 yn erbyn Y Fflint.
Gyda’r Wyddgrug ar i fyny bellach bydd angen i Port fod ar eu gorau i gwblhau’r dwbl drostynt. Bydd Iddon Price a Dan Roberts yn ôl yn y garfan ar ôl cwblhau eu gwaharddiad a Ceri James wedi gwella o’i anaf. C’mon Port!

Mold Alex will be the visitors to the Traeth on Saturday when Port will be looking for their 5th win in six games to continue their move up the table. Scoring 11 goals in their last two games would suggest that the problem they have had turning pressure into goals is being put behind them.
Mold were our first opponents of the season back in August and it proved to be a very satisfying start to our season resulting in a comfortable 6-2 victory. And what a day it proved to be for Julian Williams who netted four times, with Jamie McDaid scoring the other two.
That was then and this is now and the Alex are no longer the easy touch they were at the beginning of the season. Joint managers Neil Wynne and Mike Cunningham took over the reins, at Alyn Park, from Kenny Irons and they have brought about a change of fortunes at the club. There have been changes in on field personnel also, and they are now 11th place in the table. Their game with Penrhyncoch last weekend was postponed but they have won two and lost two of their last 4 matches and they also ran Caernarfon close, going down by only 2-1 at the Oval. Their best win of the season was by 5-0 over Llanfair United while their worst defeat was a 12-0 home defeat to 3rd placed Flint.
The Alex revival will mean that Port need to be at their best on Saturday to repeat last season’s double over the Flinshire club. Iddon Price and Dan Roberts will be available again after serving their one-match suspensions and Ceri James is back from injury. C’mon Port!
