Mae Caewibiwr yn fath arbennig o gefnogwr sydd yn ymweld ac amrywiaeth o gaeau pêl-droed ac yn cefnogi’r gêm ar lawr gwlad yn gyffredinol heb gefnogi un clwb yn arbennig. I’r gêm yn erbyn Bwcle croesawyd ‘the 94th Minute’ sef @clint_jones i’r Traeth. Ar y blog cewch ddarllen ei argraffiadau gan gynnwys golwg ar y stadiwm, hanes y clwb, y gêm ei hun yn ogystal a’i daith i Port ac adre ‘nol. Mae’n cymryd golwg fanwl ar y cyfan ac yn werth ei ddarllen. Mae’n adrodd yn ffafriol iawn am ei ymweliad ac mae’n dda gwybod fod yr ymweliad wedi bod yn bleser er waethaf y tywydd diflas. Hon oedd un o’r gemwibdeithiau gorau iddo wneud ac aiff ymlaen i ddweud fod y cae yn gracyr, yn haeddu pêl-droed Uwch Gynghrair ac yn canmol y croeso a gafodd. Diolch gyfaill a gobeithio bydd y Traeth ar dy rhestr o gaeau i ymweld a hwy cyn hir eto. Gweler the94thminute.wordpress.com Over recent weeks we have had the pleasure of welcoming several Groundhoppers to the Traeth. Now a Groundhopper is a special breed of supporter who, rather than support an individual club takes in a variety of grounds and gives support to grassroots football. At the Buckley Town game we welcomed ‘the 94th Minute’ alias @clint¬_jones. You can read his impressions of his visit including a look at the ground, club history, the game itself as well as his journey to and from the ground. All in all it is a comprehensive and detailed account and a good read. It is a very favourable and positive account and it is good to know the visit proved an enjoyable one despite the adverse weather. Here is how he sums up his visit: “Overall, even though the game nor the weather conditions were the best I have encountered, the trip to Porthmadog is one of the best groundhops I have done – not bad for a ‘spur of the moment’ decision. The ground itself is a cracker and worthy of Welsh Premier League football, whilst the people involved with CPD Porthmadog were very warm and welcoming all match, which I really appreciated, especially after a long drive down.” Thanks friend and hope your travels bring you to the Traeth again before too long. See the94thminute.wordpress.com 25/03/16 Gohirio gêm Ail-dîm / Reserve game OFF Bu’n rhaid gohirio’r gêm yn erbyn Llandyrnog a oedd i’w chwarae ar Y Traeth ar Llun y Pasg, gan fod yr ymwelwyr wedi methu codi tîm ar gyfer y dyddiad hwn. The Easter Monday Reserve League fixture at the Traeth is OFF. Llandyrnog United have been unable to raise a team for this date. 23/03/16 Sylw i’r Datblygiad / Media attention for development Cafodd y newyddion am y datblygiadau ar Y Traeth -adeiladu estyniad i Glwb y Traeth a chreu canolfan ar gyfer gwella sgiliau pobl yr ardal- dderbyniad gwresog yn y wasg a’r cyfryngau. Mae’r wasg leol fel y Cambrian News wedi croesawu’r buddsoddiad o £131,000 gan Llywodraeth Cymru a Cwmni Magnox, Mewn Blog Ar y Marc y BBC( www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/radiocymru )mae Glyn Griffiths yn dweud “....mae clwb pêl droed Porthmadog yn flaenllaw wrth ddangos blaengaredd cymunedol newydd ac arloesol.” Mae’n ychwanegu, “Does ond llongyfarch y clwb am ddangos arweiniad a blaengaredd sydd yn gwneud cymaint i gyplysu adnoddau pêl droed a’r gymuned ehangach o fewn yr ardal. Siawns nad oes yma esiampl a allasai nifer o'n clybiau ei ddilyn, gan roi ystyr newydd i'r hen ddywediad - “ faint o locals sydd gennych chi yn y tîm?” Dywedodd Dave Jones ar ran y Daily Post fod yn newyddion gwych ac yn obeithiol fydd y stori yn cael sylw haeddiannol yn y Daily Post a’r Herald. Bydd yna sylw hefyd i’r newydd yn rhifyn dydd Gwener o’r ‘Cymro’. The news of the developments at the Traeth adding an extension to the Clubhouse to create a top flight skills training centre for local people has received a warm welcome in the media. The Cambrian News has welcomed the £131,000 investment by the Welsh Government and by Magnox. In his ‘Ar y Marc’ blog for BBC Wales, Glyn Griffiths congratulates the club for its pioneering forward thinking and planning, putting the community first. He sees it as an example which others can follow, giving a whole new meaning to the old adage, “How many locals do you have in your team?” Dave Jones on behalf of the Daily Post and Caernarfon Herald says, “Brilliant news. Hopefully your excellent story will get some good space in both the Herald and Daily Post.” The story is also set to get further coverage in Friday’s edition of ‘Y Cymro’. 23/03/16 Rhagolwg: v Derwyddon / Preview: v The Druids Ras dau geffyl ydy Cynghrair Huws Gray erbyn hyn, a bydd un o’r ceffylau blaen hynny ar Y Traeth pnawn Sadwrn. Mae’n edrych fod y ras rhwng Caernarfon a’r Derwyddon yn mynd i barhau tan y diwedd un. Ar y foment mae Cefn 4 pwynt tu ôl i Gaernarfon ond efo gêm mewn llaw. Bydd y ddau hefyd yn chwarae’u gilydd cyn ddiwedd y tymor. Yn amlwg fydd tîm Huw Griffiths yn anelu i barhau â’u record diguro ar eu teithiau yn ystod y tymor hwn, wrth iddynt ymweld â’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn. Eu bwriad fydd cadw’r pwysau ar Gaernarfon er mwyn adennill eu lle yn UGC. Maent ar rhediad arbennig, heb golli ers ddiwedd Hydref ac yn ennill naw o’r gemau dros y cyfnod a dod yn gyfartal mewn dwy. Ond bydd Port yn dod i’r gêm yn obeithiol wrth gofio’r fuddugoliaeth o 3-2 ar Y Graig ynghynt yn y tymor ac hefyd y ddwy fuddugoliaeth olynol dros Bwcle a Chaergybi ar Y Traeth. Cwblhawyd y ddwy fuddugoliaeth ddiweddar heb ildio gôl. Y tro diwethaf i’r ddau glwb gyfarfod ar Y Traeth cafwyd gêm gyffrous iawn a orffennodd yn gyfartal 4 gôl yr un. Dewch inni obeithio am fwy o gyffro pnawn Sadwrn, ond gyda’r canlyniad iawn! Amdani Port! The HGA title race is becoming a two horse race and one of the competing racehorses will be at the Traeth on Saturday. The title race between Caernarfon and Cefn Druids looks as though it could go to the wire, Currently Saturday’s opponents Cefn are 4 points behind Caernarfon but with a game in hand. The two are also set to meet before the end of the season. Clearly Huw Griffiths’ team will be looking to continue their excellent unbeaten away record on Saturday to maintain their challenge to get back into the WPL. The Druids are a team in form unbeaten since late October winning 9 and drawing twice during that spell. Port canl however take heart from their 3-2 league victory at The Rock and the back to back wins over Buckley and Holyhead at the Traeth. Those victories were notable also for the two clean sheets kept. The last time the two clubs met at the Traeth resulted in an exciting 4-4 draw. Let’s hope for some more excitement but with the right result! C’mon Port! 20/03/16 TOP FLIGHT TRAINING VENUE / CANOLFAN I WELLA SGILIAU POBOL ARDAL PORTHMADOG Sicrhawyd pecyn ariannol gwerth £131,000 gan Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog er mwyn adeiladu estyniad ar ei glwb cymdeithasol caiff ei ddatblygu fel canolfan sgiliau a hyfforddi ar gyfer pobol yr ardal. Eisoes mae trafodaethau ar y gweill gyda darparwyr hyfforddiant a cholegau lleol er mwyn sicrhau y caiff ddefnydd prysur pan agorir y drysau yn ystod mis Awst eleni. Cyfrannodd dwy gronfa tuag at y cynllun : ‘Aggregate Levy Fund’ Llywodraeth Cymru a Cronfa socio-economaidd Magnox. Cyhoeddodd y Gweinidog dros Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru, Carl Sargeant yn ddiweddar bod chwe prosiect led-led Cymru wedi derbyn £419,953 tuag gwahanol gynlluniau cymunedol ac ‘roedd Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog yn un o’r rhai llwyddiannus. Dywedodd “Bydd y prosiectau hyn yn gwneud gwahaniaeth sylweddol i’w cymunedau ac yn cynnig gwell cyfleusterau iddynt. Nod y gronfa yw buddsoddi mewn prosiectau cyfalaf pwysig a hynny mewn ardaloedd sydd yn dioddef oherwydd y broses cloddio diwydiannol. Fel Llywodraeth sydd yn gefnogol i fusnes ‘rydym yn gweithio’n agos gyda cwmnïau ledled Cymru ar gyfer creu tyfiant a swyddi. Ymfalchïwn yn y ffaith bydd cwmnïau lleol yn elw o’r gwaith adeiladu.” Yn ol Jonathan Jenkin, Rheolwr Cyfathrebu Rhan ddeiliaid yr Awdurdod Dad gomisiynu Niwclear “Ein nod yw ceisio lleihau yr effaith socio-economaidd sydd yn deillio o ddadgomisiynu safle Trawsfynydd. Ers 2012 buddsoddwyd dros £7 miliwn mewn prosiectau sydd yn help i greu a datblygu economi gref a chynaliadwy. Drwy gefnogi Canolfan Sgiliau Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog caiff pobol yr ardal gyfle i ymgysylltu ag amrywiaeth o gyfleon hyfforddiant fydd yn helpu gwella a datblygu eu sgiliau gwaith a thrwy hynny gwaredu ardal wledig o un o’r problemau sydd yn dal ei phobol yn ôl”. Bydd y gwaith o adeiladu’r estyniad yn cychwyn ddechrau Ebrill ac wedi ei gwblhau erbyn dechrau’r haf ac felly bydd ar gael o mis Awst ymlaen. “Hoffem ddiolch i’r ddau gyllidwr am eu ffydd a chefnogaeth” medd y Cadeirydd Phil Jones. “Bu’r Clwb yn rhan annatod o fywyd cymdeithasol ardal Porthmadog ers 1884 ac yn berchen i’r gymuned a’i gefnogwyr. Bydd y ganolfan newydd yn adnodd arbennig ar gyfer pobol o fewn 10 milltir i’r dref ac yn gyfle iddynt ddatblygu eu sgiliau a thrwy hynny gwella eu cyfleon gwaith a gyrfa. Bydd ynddi ystafell ar gyfer hyfforddi fydd yn cynnwys cyfrifiaduron, I-Pad a thabledi ac yn ogystal swyddfa, cegin a cantîn. Mae darparwyr hyfforddiant yn ymwybodol iawn faint mor ganolog yw’r dref rhwng Penrhyn Llyn, Meirionnydd a De Arfon. Eisioes mae trafodaethau ar y gweill gyda nifer ohonynt ac mae diddordeb mewn cynnal cyrsiau allanol yn y ganolfan.” Golygai’r prosiect diweddaraf hwn bod y Clwb ers 2004 bellach wedi buddsoddi dros £450,000 mewn cyfleusterau sydd yn cynnwys adeiladu’r clwb cymdeithasol yn y lle cyntaf, codi niferoedd y seddi yn y stadiwm o 150 i 700, cryfhau y llifoleuadau, adeiladu eisteddle newydd tu ôl i gol Chwarel Minffordd, ystafelloedd newid newydd i’r tîm cartref, adeiladu sied storio, gwella safon a ansawdd y prif faes a’r cae ymarfer, adeiladu stiwdio teledu a gantry a gosod goleuon argyfwng ledled y stadiwm. Y prosiect diweddaraf oedd gosod concrit yn barod ar gyfer adeiladu eisteddle newydd blwyddyn nesaf. “Er bod grantiau ar gael gyda niferoedd o’r prosiectau hyn mae y cwmni hefyd wedi buddsoddi canran sylweddol o’r arian yn y cyfanswm hwn. Fel cyfarwyddwyr gwirfoddol ein polisi dros y cyfnod oedd ail fuddsoddi unrhyw weddillion ariannol mewn prosiectau fyddai’n gwella cyfleusterau ar gyfer ein cefnogwyr. Bydd y Ganolfan Sgiliau o fudd i llawer mwy o bobol na dim ond ein cefnogwyr ac yn ased economaidd pwysig i'r ardal gyfan” ychwanegodd Phil Jones. Discussions with local and regional training providers are now on going to ensure the facility will be fully utilised once it opens in August this year.PORTHMADOG FC has secured a £131,000 funding package to build an extension on its current clubhouse that will be developed as a Skills and Training Centre for the people of the area. Discussions with local and regional training providers are now on going to ensure the facility will be fully utilised once it opens in August this year. Two organisations have provided the funding, Welsh Government’s Aggregate Levy Fund and Magnox Socio Economic Fund. Welsh Government Natural Resources Minister, Carl Sargeant announced a funding package of £419,953 for 6 community projects last week that included the Porthmadog one. He said “The projects receiving a share of this funding all make significant contributions to their communities who will benefit from the improved facilities. This fund puts important capital spending back into areas affected by the industrial process of quarrying. As a pro business government we are working closely with companies to create growth and jobs in every part of Wales and I’m delighted that local contractors will benefit from the work.” Jonathan Jenkin, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority Stakeholder Relations Manager said: ”We are committed to minimising the socio-economic impact of decommissioning the Trawsfynydd site. Over £7 million has been invested in North West Wales since 2012 to support community projects that contribute towards creating a resilient, sustainable local economy. Porthmadog Football Club’s new training centre will provide local people with an accessible range of training opportunities to improve their employability skills and remove one of the barriers to learning faced by rural communities” Work on the building will start at the end of the current season in April and will be completed by the early summer. Club Chairman Phil Jones said that they were very grateful to both organisations for their faith and support. “The Club has been an integral part of the Porthmadog community since 1884 and is owned by its supporters. We see the new Skills Centre as providing local people within a 10 mile radius of the town with an opportunity to develop their skills, enhancing their work and career prospects. The centre will include a suite of computers, tablets and I-Pads as well as an office, canteen and kitchen. Training providers are well aware that the area is centrally placed between the Ll?n Peninsula, Meirionnydd and south Arfon. We have already started discussions with a number of them that have shown an interest in organising outreach courses at the venue” The project takes the Club’s investment in its facilities since 2004 to over £450,000 that has included building the social club, increasing the ground’s seating capacity from 150 to 700, upgrading its floodlights, built a new grandstand at the quarry end, new home dressing rooms, storage shed, upgrading the main and practice pitches, built a TV studio and gantry, provide emergency lighting throughout the ground, laid solar panels on the clubhouse roof and the most recent work having been undertaken was concreting part of the spectator area in readiness for the building of a new grandstand next year. “Grants have been available and we are always grateful to those organisations like Welsh Government and Magnox for their ready support but as a board of voluntary directors we have always been willing to invest any of our surplus funds in the projects we undertake, many of which have been to improve facilities for our supporters. This new development will also contribute to their economic wellbeing and that of the people of the area generally” added Phil Jones. Plans for the development will be on display at the Club’s Social Club at its final two home games for this season against Cefn Druids on Saturday and Caersws on Tuesday 5th of April. Craig Papirnyk reports the following squad news for Saturday and he takes a look back at the last weekend. “This weekend will see Ceri James and Eilir Edwards return to the squad but Julian Williams will be absent again . Josh Davies is still struggling with an ankle injury but will be called upon if needed while young James Papirnyk has returned from his spell at Barmouth and he will also give us cover.” Looking to the visit of Holyhead Craig says, “Holyhead will be another tough opponent and Campbell has formed a good solid side mixed with experience and youth who are in good form at the moment. “We will look to build on last week’s win and try to finish the season as high as possible We know our league position is not good enough and we must work hard until the end of the season to ensure we finish as positively as possible .” “Last week’s performance against Buckley was a scrappy affair to say the least , the pitch did not help and it is a real shame to see the Traeth in such a beat up way!! “The game itself didn’t offer to much excitement but a win is a win and I will take the 3pts !! we again should’ve been comfortably in the lead come half time but the wasted opportunities meant we led by the one goal. “In the second half we didn’t get started and Buckley pressed searching for the equaliser and were unlucky not to find it. We held resilient at the back and managed to come away with the win but the performance was not good enough in my opinion and the lads know this.” 17/03/16 Stuart yn gadael / Stuart leaves Mae’r chwaraewr canol cae Stuart Rogers i ail ymuno â’r Bermo. Yn ystod y ddau dymor diwethaf chwaraeodd Stuart 36 (+19) o gemau i Port gan sgorio 5 gôl. Dywedodd Craig Papirnyk heddiw “Rwy’n dymuno’n dda i Stu. Mae wedi gwneud yn dda iawn inni. Mae bob amser yn rhoi’r cyfan dros y clwb ond, a fo yn 29 oed, mae angen chwarae yn rheolaidd ac rwy’n cytuno. Caiff y cyfle i wneud hyn yn y Bermo. Mae wedi diolch i bawb yn Port am y croeso cynnes a’r gefnogaeth a gafodd yn ystod y ddwy flynedd ddiwethaf. Pob lwc iti Stu.” Port midfielder Stuart Rogers will be joining Barmouth FC. Over the past two seasons Stuart made 36 (+19) appearances for the club scoring 5 goals. Craig Papirnyk said today, “I’d like to wish him well. Stu has done great for us since signing at the start of last season. He always gives his all for the club but at 29yrs old he wants to be playing regular football which I completely understand and at Barmouth he can do that. He has thanked everyone at Port for giving him such a great welcome and supporting him over the last 2 seasons. All the best Stu.” 16/03/16 Rhagolwg: v Caergybi / Preview: Holyhead Pnawn Sadwrn byddwn yn croesawu Hotspyrs Caergybi i’r Traeth. Yn wreiddiol y bwriad oedd i’r gêm hon gael ei chwarae dros y ‘Dolig ond wedyn daeth y glaw a mwy o law. Mae Port a Chaergybi wedi’u clymu gyda’u gilydd yng nghanol y tabl am y rhan fwyaf o’r tymor ac, ar hyn o bryd, yn 9fed a 10fed yn y tabl. Yn dilyn ein buddugoliaeth dros Bwcle mae’r ddau glwb bellach ar 34 o bwyntiau ond mae gan yr Ynyswyr gêm mewn llaw a gwell gwahaniaeth goliau. Penwythnos ddiweddaf colli oedd hanes Caergybi yn erbyn Treffynnon, a hyn yn siom wrth ddilyn y fuddugoliaeth gyffrous o 5-4 dros Ddinbych. Gyda’r ddau glwb yng nghlwm yng nghanol y tabl, nid yw’n syndod efallai fod unig gêm gyfartal Port, y tymor hwn, wedi dod yn y Stadiwm Newydd yng Nghaergybi. Chwaraewyd y gêm honno yn ôl ym mis Medi gyda Josh Davies, o’r smotyn, yn dod a’r sgôr yn gyfartal wedi’i Damien Ketley rhoi’r tîm cartref ar y blaen ar ôl 3 munud. Bydd y ddau glwb yn teimlo eu bod wedi tan gyflawni y tymor hwn, ond y ddau hefyd wedi sicrhau ambell fuddugoliaeth dda iawn. Yn ddiweddar cafodd Caergybi rhediad o dair gêm gyfartal yn erbyn Conwy, Y Derwyddon a’r Wyddgrug gan ddod a’u cyfanswm o gemau cyfartal i 7 –mwy na’r un clwb arall. Mae rhediad diweddar Port yn dangos y canlyniadau -colli, ennill, colli ennill- a hyn yn adlewyrchu’r tymor cymysg. Bydd yn frwydr galed pnawn Sadwrn i gael y pwyntiau ond, y tro yma, gobeithio cawn fuddugoliaethau cefn wrth gefn. Amdani Port! On Saturday we welcome Holyhead Hotspurs to the Traeth. This game was originally intended as a Christmas Holiday fixture -before the rains intervened. Port and the Hotspurs have been locked together in mid-table for most of the season and currently they lie in 9th and 10th places in the table. Last Saturday’s win over Buckley Town puts the two clubs on 34 points, though the islanders have a game in hand and a better goal difference. Last weekend Hotspurs suffered a 4-0 defeat at Holywell which must have been a disappointment following that high scoring Friday night thriller against Denbigh Town with the Islanders recording a remarkable 5-4 victory. With the two clubs in close contention in mid-table it is perhaps not surprising that Port recorded their one and only draw of the season at the New Stadium in Holyhead. That game was played way back in September, with a Josh Davies penalty in the second half bringing the scores level after Dean Ketley had put the home team ahead in the third minute. Both clubs will feel that they have under achieved this season and like Port, the Hotspurs have been rather up and down in their form but both clubs have recorded some good victories. Their more recent form shows a run of three successive draws against Conwy, Druids and Mold, which brings them up to a total of seven draws in the season, more than any other club. Port’s form over the last four matches of Lost, Won, Lost, Won is a fair reflection of our season. On Saturday we can expect another tough battle for the points but let’s hope we can pull off back to back victories. C’mon Port! 13/03/16 Cwrs Arweinydd Pêl-droed /Football Leaders Course Cynhelir Cwrs ar gyfer Arweinyddion Pêl-droed ar Y Traeth Porthmadog, bydd yn cyflwyno sut gellir trefnu ymarferion pêl-droed mewn awyrgylch ddiogel. I sicrhau eich lle ar y cwrs hwn ewch www.fawcourses.com A Football Leaders Course, providing a basic introduction to the Organisation of football practices in a fun, safe environment, will be held at the Traeth Porthmadog on the 20 March. It is a one-day course and will include both practical and theory commencing at 9am through to 5pm. Cewch weld y Rygbi wedyn yn Nghlwb y Traeth. Don’t forget it’s a 2pm kick off at the Traeth on Saturday when Buckley Town are the visitors. You can follow this by watching the Rugby in the Clubhouse. 10/03/16 Cap i Leo / Wales cap for Leo Diwrnod balch iawn i Leo Smith a’i deulu wrth i gyn chwaraewr Academi Port ennill ei gap cyntaf dros Cymru yn y gêm rhyngwladol Dan-19 yn erbyn Y Weriniaeth Tsiec ar gae Met Caerdydd. Roedd yn ddydd llwyddiannus i hogiau Cymru yn ennill o 1-0. A proud day for Leo Smith and his family as the former Port Academy player made his Wales debut today in the U-19 international at the Cardiff Met Ground against the Czech Republic. It was another successful day with a second win for the Welsh boys, this time by 1-0. 10/03/16 Rhagolwg: v Bwcle / Preview: Buckley Bydd Bwcle yn ymweld â’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn gyda’r gic gyntaf am 2 o’r gloch. Roedd yn dipyn o rhyddhad pan lwyddwyd, wedi pum tymor o fethu, i gael buddugoliaeth dros y clwb o Sir Fflint yn ôl ym mis Tachwedd. Roedd wedi mynd yn dipyn o fwrn i ddal i sôn am y bwgan arbennig yma. Collodd Bwcle yn drwm o 5-1 yn eu gêm ddiwethaf yn erbyn Dinbych ond wythnos ynghynt cawsant, fel Port, fuddugoliaeth dda dros Prestatyn a chyn hynny dal Y Derwyddon i gêm gyfartal 3-3. Ond ar y llaw arall collwyd adre o 5 gôl yn erbyn Caernarfon. Yn wir does yna ddim prinder goliau wedi bod yng ngemau Bwcle yn ddiweddar, gan iddynt hwy hefyd rhwydo pump ar Globe Way yn erbyn Conwy. Mae’r clwb o Sir Fflint un lle yn is na Port yn y tabl, gyda naw pwynt yn eu gwahanu. A nhw ar 22 o bwyntiau maent yn edrych yn saff ond gyda phedwar o bosib yn mynd i lawr byddant yn chwilio am bwyntiau i osgoi edrych dros eu hysgwyddau yn wythnosau olaf y tymor. Ar ôl y siom o fethu sicrhau buddugoliaeth y Sadwrn diwethaf bydd Port yn chwilio am berfformiad tebyg i’r un arbennig a gafwyd yn erbyn Prestatyn. Amdani Port! Buckley Town will be the visitors to the Traeth on Saturday for a 2pm kick off. It was something of a relief, after drawing blanks for five seasons, to record a 2-1 win over the Flintshire club at the Globe Way back in November. It was getting rather tedious to remind ourselves about the ‘Buckley Bogey’. So hopefully we have reached the end of the hoodoo. Buckley suffered a heavy defeat last time out, going down by 5-1 at Central Park against Denbigh but, the previous week they, like Port, inflicted a defeat on Prestatyn. Like Port their recent form has been up and down. In addition to their win over Prestatyn they held title challengers Cefn Druids to a 3-3 draw but, on the down side, they conceded another five goals at home to Caernarfon. In fact goals have not been in short supply in games involving Buckley, as they themselves also put five past Conwy at Globe Way. Buckley currently are just one place below Port in the table with nine points separating the two teams. With 22 points safely gathered they look clear of the relegation places but, while there is the possibility of four clubs being relegated this season, they will be looking for points to avoid having to look over their shoulders as the season’s end nears. Port will look to get back to winning after Saturday’s disappointing defeat, a direct contrast with the previous excellent team performance away at Prestatyn. C’mon Port! 08/03/16 Leon yn gadael / Leon leaves Mae Leon Newell wedi penderfynu gadael y clwb . Bydd yn ymuno a CPD Llangefni. Meddai Craig Papirnyk heddiw, “O ganlyniad i’r anaf i’w benglin mae Leon wedi cael hi'n anodd adfer ei ffitrwydd. Mae Llangefni ar ei stepan drws ac mae angen iddo gael y cyfle i chwarae eto. Mae’n hogyn grêt ac rwy’n dymuno’r gorau iddo.” Leon Newell has made the decision to leave the club. Leon is to join Llangefni. Craig Papirnyk said today, “Due to his ongoing knee injury Leon has found it difficult to gain fitness. Llangefni is on his door step and he needs to get playing again. He's a top lad and I wish him all the best.” 06/03/16 Cefnogwyr ffan-tastig / Fan-tastic fans Isod gweler rhan o erthygl Dave Jones yn y Daily Post sy’n sôn am gefnogwyr brwdfrydig Porthmadog. Mae’n dwyn i gof ymweliad cofiadwy a’r Belle Vue lle gwelwyd cefnogwyr Y Rhyl yn sefyll wrth yr allanfa i ddangos eu gwerthfawrogiad o’r brwdfrydedd a’r awyrgylch arbennig a grëwyd yn y stadiwm. Dyddiau da! “Whether their fortunes are good or not so clever Porthmadog have always maintained a great fan base. “The Traeth support was at its finest in the final game of the 2007/08 season when a large crowd saw Richard Hughes' goal clinch the 1-0 win over Rhyl which ensured Port stayed in the Welsh Premier League. “And the club is also renowned for being well represented by its fans at away matches. “I fondly remember a small but noisy band of followers walking around the perimeter of Belle Vue at half time of a game at Rhyl a few years back singing (to the theme of When The Saints Go Marching In): "Oh Porthmadog (oh Porthmadog), is wonderful (is wonderful), oh Porthmadog is wonderful, we've got a train and Cob Records, oh Porthmadog is wonderful". “In those heady days for the Lilywhites, travelling fans (apart from Bangor's) were never noticed at Belle Vue, but Port's certainly were on their many visits.” Above is an extract from Dave Jones’s article in the Daily Post on supporters in north Wales. An anecdote which it brings to mind is the time when Rhyl supporters lined the exit to cheer out the Port supporters who had played their part in creating a wonderful atmosphere at the game. Good days! 05/03/16 Gêm YMLAEN / Game ON Yn dilyn archwiliad o’r cae am 10 o’r gloch heddiw mae’r gêm yn erbyn Fflint yn dal YMLAEN. Peth dwr yn sefyll ond gobeithio wnaiff glirio yn y 4 awr nesaf os wnaiff aros yn sych Game against Flint today is still ON following this morning’s 10am pitch inspection. But some standing water remains and this will hopefully clear in the next 4 hours as the weather forecast is good. 04/03/16 Archwiliad o’r Cae / Pitch inspection Yn dilyn glaw trwm yn ystod y dydd bydd angen archwiliad o’r maes am 10 o’r gloch bore ‘fory (Sadwrn) er mwyn penderfynu os fydd y gêm yn erbyn Y Fflint yn mynd yn ei blaen. Following heavy rain today there will be an inspection of the pitch at the Traeth tomorrow morning (Saturday) to decide if the game against Flint can go ahead. 04/03/16 Arwyddo golwr profiadol / Experienced Keeper signs ![]() “Rwy’n hapus fod golwr profiadol iawn yn ymuno i fod wrth gefn. Mae Paul yn fodlon gyda’r trefniadau gan ei fod yn brysur gyda’i gwmni ‘Just for Keepers’. Ond mae’n methu’r gêm ac yn 33 oed mae ganddo ddigon o flynyddoedd ar ôl. Croeso i Port Paul! “Roedd Paul a Rich yn Wrecsam ar yr un adeg a dyna lle cychwynnodd ei yrfa gan symud ymlaen drwy’r system i sicrhau contract llawn amser. Chwaraeodd i’r tîm cyntaf yn 2002 yn erbyn Everton â’r tîm hwnnw yn cynnwys Wayne Rooney! “Mae Paul wedi cynrychioli Cymru o lefel, ieuenctid i fyny at Dan-21, a gyda Wrecsam roedd yn rhan o’r tîm a enillodd ddyrchafiad yn 2002. Hefyd mae wedi ei helpu i ennill y Welsh Premier Cup ddwywaith. “Ar ôl gadael Wrecsam cafodd Paul brofiad yn Ewrop yng Nghwpan y Pencampwyr a hefyd Cwpan UEFA.” Port have today signed goal keeper Paul Whitfield as cover for Richard Harvey who will be getting married on Saturday March 19th, the day we host Holyhead. So Paul will come in and cover when Harvey is unavailable. Should the game be on tomorrow Paul will be available as cover for Harvey who has been sick all week and unfit to play. Craig says: “I am delighted to bring in such an established and experienced keeper as cover , Paul is more than happy with the arrangements as he is very busy with his ‘Just for Keepers’ business but he has been missing the game and, at only 33 years of age, he still has plenty of games left in him . Welcome to Port Paul! “Paul and Rich were at Wrexham together and it is where Paul started his career with Wrexham FC where he progressed through the youth system before being offered a full time contract. He made his first team debut in 2002 against Everton playing against none other than Wayne Rooney. “Paul has represented Wales from youth level to U-21 and, during his time at Wrexham, was part of the promotion winning side in 2002. He has also won the Welsh Premier Cup, actually twice, in 2002 and again in 2003. “After leaving Wrexham Paul gained European experience playing in the UEFA cup and the famous Champions League.” 03/03/16 Rhagolwg / Preview: v Fflint ![]() Ers y gêm honno ar Gae y Castell mae Y Fflint wedi newid eu rheolwr gyda cyn flaenwr Port, Aden Shannon, yn cymryd yr awenau. Ers hynny hefyd maent wedi chwarae saith gêm gan rhwydo chwe gwaith yn erbyn Dinbych a pump arall yng Nghaersws, ond hefyd yn achosi sioc wrth golli yn Rhaeadr ,a’r Sadwrn diwethaf yn colli yn Y Wyddgrug. Hefyd yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, cawsant fuddugoliaeth dda dros Treffynnon –cymysgedd o ganlyniadau felly. Tebyg hefyd fu canlyniadau diweddar Port, ond y Sadwrn diwethaf cafwyd berfformiad i godi calon. Roedd yn newid i’w groesawu gweld Port yn sgorio ddwywaith gan wrth ymosod yn lle cael eu dal gan dîm yn torri’n sydyn. Ym Mhrestatyn cafwyd perfformiad llawn ymroddiad a phenderfyniad a hynny er chwarae gyda 10 dyn am dros hanner y gêm. Ond roedd y goliau gan Jamie McDaid a Cai Jones yn nodweddiadol am ddau ddarn o sgil arbennig gan Cai ei hun a gan Stuart Rogers wrth greu y goliau. Mwy pnawn Sadwrn plîs!! Amdani Port! On Saturday Flint will be the visitors to the Traeth for what will be the first of four consecutive home fixtures. Our visitors are one place above Port in the table with two points more, but having three games in hand. Last time the two clubs met, in the corresponding game at Cae y Castell, it was the proverbial game of two halves. Flint dominated the opening half, going three goals up, but Port struck back in the second period with two great goals from Eilir Edwards leaving Flint hanging on for the three points. So this leaves some unfinished business for Saturday!! Since that game at Cae y Castell, Flint have changed manager and former Port forward, Aden Shannon is in charge. They have also played seven league games, scoring six at Denbigh and five at Caersws but then suffered a surprise defeat at Rhayader and last Saturday they lost to Mold by the odd goal. There was also a good win over Holywell –so all in all a mixed bag of results. Port’s results are a similar mixed bag but last Saturday’s performance at Prestatyn should give a real confidence boost. It made a real change to see Port hitting on the break rather than being caught out themselves. To achieve this, after playing half a game with 10 men, just shows the grit and determination that exists in the squad. But the goals from Jamie McDaid and Cai Jones were remarkable for two pieces of outstanding skill by Cai himself and Stuart Rogers in the build up. More of the same on Saturday please!! C’mon Port! 29/02/16 Gemau mis Ebrill / April fixtures Bydd tymor Port yn gorffen gyda tair gêm yn yr wythnos gyntaf o fis Ebrill (gweler isod). Bydd gemau i rhai clybiau yn parhau tan y 7 Mai pryd ddaw’r tymor i ben. 2/04 Rhaeadr v Port. 5/04 Port v Caersws. 9/04 Treffynnon / Holywell v Port. Port’s season will end with three games (above) during the first week of April. The revised fixture list means that the final fixtures of the HGA season will finally come to an end on the 7 May. 28/02/16 Tote Chwefror / February Tote ![]() Amlenni Tote ar gael o Kaleidoscope, Y Ganolfan, Clwb Pêl-Droed Porthmadog neu Dylan 07900512345.
