26/02/16 Ail-dîm yn ennill / Win for Reserves Cafodd yr Ail-dîm fuddugoliaeth dda neithiwr yn curo Glan Conwy ar Y Traeth. Y sgôr terfynol oedd 3-2, gyda Shane Frith, Lloyd Hughes a Stuart Rogers yn rhwydo dros Port. Yn y 7fed safle yn y tabl mae’r Ail-dîm, mewn cynghrair o 14 clwb. Yfory fydd Ail-dîm Dinbych yn ymweld â’r Traeth. Cic gyntaf 2.30pm. There was a good league win last night for our Reserves at home against Glan Conwy. The final score was 3-2 with Shane Frith, Lloyd Hughes, and Stuart Rogers netting for Port. The Reserves are currently in 7th place in the table in a league of 14 clubs. Tomorrow Denbigh Reserves will visit the Traeth. Kick off 2.30pm. 25/02/16 Rhagolwg / Preview: Prestatyn ![]() Mae Prestatyn yn y 5ed safle yn y tabl er yn colli eu gêm ddiwethaf o 3-0 yn erbyn Bwcle. Fel Port nid ydynt wedi bod ar eu gorau yn ddiweddar ,gyda’r ddau glwb ar rhediad gwael yn colli tair gêm yn olynol. Felly bydd o leiaf un o’r ddau glwb yn dod a’r rhediad i ben pnawn Sadwrn. Eisoes y tymor hwn mae’r ddau glwb wedi cyfarfod ddwywaith, unwaith yng Nghwpan y Gynghrair a’r tro arall, yn y gynghrair ar Y Traeth. Er cael digonedd o’r bêl, colli oedd hanes Port yn y ddwy gêm yn cael anhawster wrth geisio rhwystro’r blaenwyr tal. Cegidfa oedd gwrthwynebwyr diwethaf Port, clwb sydd ar rediad da iawn. Roedd yn gêm gystadleuol iawn ond, nid am y tro cyntaf y tymor hwn, cawsant eu curo gan wrth ymosodiadau y gwrthwynebwyr. Mae gêm basio Port wedi bod o safon uchel ar hyd yr amser, rhaid gobeithio am ychydig o lwc pnawn Sadwrn, i droi chwarae creadigol yn fuddugoliaeth. Amdani Port! Port will travel to the north coast on Saturday to take on Prestatyn. After last week’s frustrating late postponement, let’s hope the weather stays fair and football is back on the agenda instead of inspections, standing water and health and safety considerations. Prestatyn are currently in 5th spot in the table but last time out suffered a 3-0 defeat at Buckley. Like Port they have not been in the best of form recently and both clubs are on a run of three consecutive league defeats. So on Saturday at least one will bring their poor sequence to an end. The two clubs have already met twice this season, once in the League Cup and also at the Traeth in the HGA. Despite enjoying plenty of possession Port went down on both occasions finding the Seasiders tall front men a tough challenge. Port’s last game at home was to an in form Guilsfield, and it turned out to be a hard even contest but, not for the first time this season, we were hit by pacy counter attacks. Port’s passing game has been of a high standard so let’s hope for the breaks on Saturday to turn good approach play into victories. C’mon Port! 25/02/16 Gêm Ail-dîm heno / Reserves play tonight Mae gan yr Ail-dîm gêm ar Y Traeth heno (nos Iau) yn erbyn Ail-dîm Glan Conwy. Bydd y gic gyntaf am 7.30pm The Reserves are at home tonight (Thursday) against Glan Conwy Res. The kick off is at 7.30pm 24/02/16 Leo i Gymru / Leo for Wales Llongyfarchiadau i Leo Smith sydd wedi’i ddewis i garfan Cymru i chwarae dwy gêm rhyngwladol gyfeillgar yn erbyn Y Weriniaeth Siec. Bydd y ddwy gêm yn cael eu chwarae yng Nghaerdydd y mis nesaf. Cyn iddo symud i Wrecsam, lle mae ei yrfa yn datblygu, bu Leo yn aelod o garfan AcademiPort a gafodd cryn lwyddiant yn Ffeinal Academïau Cymru draw yn y Drenewydd. Mae Leo yn fab i gyn amddiffynnwr Port, Steve Smith a’i wraig Jackie, sydd ynghyd a’i chwaer Nicola wedi bod yn weithgar iawn gyda chlwb Port. Mae pawb yn Port yn dymuno’n dda i Leo. Congratulations to Leo Smith on his selection for the Wales U19 squad for two friendly internationals against the Czech Republic next month in Cardiff. Before moving to Wrexham, where his career is blossoming, Leo played in a very strong Porthmadog Academy team which achieved success in the Welsh Academy Finals at Newtown. Leo is the son of former Port defender Steve Smith and his wife Jackie and the family, including sister Nicola, have always worked hard for Port . All at CPD Porthmadog wish him well. 21/02/16 Dan-14 – y tymor hyd yma / U-14s –the season so far Cwblhawn yr olwg dros dymor yr Academi hyd yma gyda golwg ar y garfan Dan-14. Cymysgfa ydy’r grwp yma o chwaraewyr dan 13 a dan 14. Mae saith o’r chwaraewyr ieuengaf wedi dod i fyny o’r garfan Dan-12 y tymor diwethaf tra fod y naw arall wedi bod gyda’r Academi ers oeddynt dan-12. Felly daeth y garfan gyfan at eu gilydd am y tro cyntaf eleni ac maent wedi datblygu ysbryd tîm ardderchog. Plesiwyd eu hyfforddwyr gyda’r ffordd mae’r hogiau wedi chwarae pêl-droed yn gyfforddus efo’r bêl wrth eu traed gan chwarae o’r cefn a mynd ati i greu cyfleoedd. Yn ystod y toriad canol gaeaf cymrodd y bechgyn rhan mewn cystadleuaeth Futsal, a cawsant hwb mawr o ennill eu gemau i gyd yn ystod yr ail wythnos, gan sicrhau mynediad i wythnos olaf y gystadleuaeth. Bydd hyn yn hwb i’w hyder a’u datblygiad wrth fynd i ail rhan y tymor. Wrth edrych i’r dyfodol bydd yna naw o chwaraewyr dan 13 yn barod wedi sefydlu eu hunain at y tymor nesaf a chwaraewyr dan 14 fydd yn gwthio am le yn y garfan Dan-16. The review of the season so far is completed with a look at the U-14s. This group is made up of a mixture of U-13s and U-14s. Seven of the nine younger boys are from last season’s U-12s while the other nine who are U-14 have been with the club from U-12s. The squad have therefore come together for the first time and developed a great team spirit. It has been most satisfying for their coaches to see the way the boys have been playing football, comfortable with the ball at their feet, playing from the back and creating chances. During the winter break the boys have taken part in a Futsal competition and winning all their games in the second week and progressed to the final week. This has given them an important confidence boost which will assist their development for the remainder of the season. Looking ahead there are now nine Under 13s who are established in the U-14s without looking out of place and U-14 players are developing with every match and will look to push for a place in the U-16s next season. 20/02/16 Gêm wedi gohirio yn Treffynnon / Match called-off at Holywell Gyda dim ond tri-chwarter awr cyn y gic gyntaf, penderfynodd y dyfarnwr na fyddai posib chwarae’r gêm oherwydd dwr ar y cae. Roedd hyn er gwaethaf y ffaith fod archwiliad blaenorol wedi penderfynu y gallai’r gêm gael ei chwarae. Felly penwythnos rhwystredig arall gyda’r tywydd yn drech na’r pêl-droed. With just three quarters of an hour left until kick-off, the referee decided that the game couldn’t go ahead due to a waterlogged pitch. This despite an earlier inspection clearing the game to take place. So another weekend where the weather has frustrated Paps’ team. 18/02/16 Rhagolwg: v Treffynnon / Preview: v Holywell Bydd Port yn wynebu gêm anodd pnawn Sadwrn wrth deithio i Treffynnon. Lle anodd i dorri ar rediad o ganlyniadau gwael. Mae Treffynnon yn mwynhau tymor da iawn ar ôl adennill eu lle yn yr HGA. Ond o edrych yn bositif ar y sefyllfa y tro diwethaf i’r ddau glwb gyfarfod ar Y Traeth roedd Port yn chwilio am eu buddugoliaeth gyntaf mewn chwe gêm! Diolch i berfformiad penderfynol cant y cant, llwyddwyd i sicrhau buddugoliaeth o 1-0 gyda Sion Parry yn sgorio’r unig gôl. Bydd angen perfformiad tebyg pnawn Sadwrn i sicrhau canlyniad. Ar hyn o bryd mae Treffynnon yn y trydydd safle, ac ers eu hymweliad â’r Traeth, wedi colli ond unwaith. Un gêm, hefyd, maent wedi colli ar Ffordd Helygain drwy’r tymor. Ond y Sadwrn diwethaf gêm gyfartal a gawsant yn Rhaeadr, clwb sy’n brwydro yn y gwaelodion. Teimladau cymysg sydd gennym wrth edrych yn ôl i’r tro olaf inni ymweld â Threffynnon –gêm Gwpan gofiadwy a’i difethwyd gan y gôl hwyr iawn! Pnawn Sadwrn daw’r cyfle i unioni’r record honno! Amdani Port! When you are on a losing run, a visit to Halkyn Road, home of Holywell Town, would not be your place of choice to attempt to break the run. Holywell are having an excellent season following their return to the HGA. The silver lining, and there always is one if you look hard enough, is that when the two clubs met at the Traeth, Port were looking for their first win in six games. What transpired was a gritty performance and a 1-0 victory, thanks to Sion Parry’s 76th minute goal. Similar determination will be needed on Saturday to secure a result. Holywell are currently in third place and since their visit to the Traeth they have lost only once, though last Saturday they were held to a draw at struggling Rhayader Town. All season they have only been beaten once on their home ground and our last visit to Halkyn Road still brings back mixed memories –a memorable Welsh Cup tie marred for us by Holywell’s last minute winner. Saturday will be an opportunity to put the record straight! C’mon Port! 17/02/16 Noddi’r Academi / Academy Sponsorship Gan nad yw’r Academi yn derbyn unrhyw nawdd o gyfeiriad y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed, mae rhoddion yn angenrheidiol i’w gweithgarwch. Mae’r Academi yn ddyledus iawn i Pete Hansen cefnogwr hael o Ganada sydd unwaith eto eleni wedi cyfrannu at waith yr Academi. Defnyddiwyd y cyfraniad hwn yn bennaf er mwyn caniatáu i’r timau gymryd rhan yn y cystadlaethau Futsal diweddar. Os ydy’r Academi i barhau i ddatblygu talentau lleol, mae rhoddion fel un Pete yn angenrheidiol. Os oes yna ddiddordeb gan unrhyw un mewn noddi Academi Porthmadog, neu am gyflwyno rhodd, cysylltwch a: cpdporthmadogfcacademy@yahoo.co.uk As the Academy is not funded by FAW, donations are essential to its work. The Academy is indebted to their Canadian benefactor Pete Hansen who once more kindly made a contribution to Academy funding, and it was largely used to allow teams to participate in the recent Futsal events. If the Academy is to continue its work of developing talented local players then donations such as Pete’s are essential. Should anyone be interested in sponsoring the Porthmadog Academy, or making a contribution please contact: cpdporthmadogfcacademy@yahoo.co.uk 16/02/16 Cystadleuaeth Futsal / Futsal Tournament Roedd yna sialens newydd i’n timau Academi yn ddiweddar wrth iddynt gymryd rhan mewn twrnamaint Futsal wedi’i drefnu gan Gapfutsal ar gyfer Academïau yn y gogledd. Addasodd y chwaraewyr yn dda i’r sialens gan gystadlu â timau sy’n chwarae Futsal yn rheolaidd, gyda’r timau Dan14 a Dan16 yn cyrraedd cyfnod terfynol y gystadleuaeth. Gêm, gyda timau o 5 bob ochr, ydy Futsal yn cael ei chwarae tu mewn gyda goliau maint hoci. Mae’r gemau yn rhai 20 munud bob hanner, gan ddefnyddio peli maint pedwar sydd a llai o fowns. Pwrpas y gêm ydy datblygu pasio a’r gallu i wneud penderfyniadau mewn llefydd cyfyng. There was a new challenge for our Academy teams recently when they all took part in a Futsal tournament organised by Gapfutsal for Academies in the north of Wales. The players adapted well to the new challenge against clubs that play Futsal on a regular basis and well done to both the U14s and U16s, progressing to the final stages of the tournament. Futsal is a small sided game with five players on each team. It is played on a flat indoor pitch with hockey size goals. Games are 20 minutes per half using a size four ball with reduced bounce. The aim is to develop passing and decision skills in restricted spaces. 15/02/16 Dan-10/12: y tymor hyd yma / U-10/12: the season so far Un o lwyddiannau’r tymor hwn ydy cael tîm Dan-10 yn rhan o strwythur yr Academi. Roedd gan y 18 chwaraewr, a gafodd dreial gan y clwb, yn meddu digon o addewid i’w derbyn i’r garfan. Er waethaf diffyg rhestr gemau ar gyfer yr oed, aeth yr hyfforddwr, Gethin Jones, ati i sicrhau nifer o gemau i’r garfan. Daeth bendithion hyfforddiant safonol yn amlwg, wrth i’r tîm a gollodd eu gemau cyntaf yn erbyn Caernarfon a Bala, sicrhau buddugoliaethau yn ddiweddarach yn erbyn yr un gwrthwynebwyr. Hefyd cafwyd buddugoliaeth dros Airbus. Roedd y mwyafrif o’r tîm Dan-12 yn newydd i’r Academi a bu’n rhaid ychwanegu chwaraewyr fel aeth y tymor ymlaen gan fod yna brinder o chwaraewyr ar y cychwyn. Er eu bod eto i ennill gêm mae ganddynt y potensial i ddatblygu. Y tymor nesaf byddwn yn gweld canlyniadau y dyfalbarhad sy’n cael ei ddangos. Yn ddiweddar apwyntiwyd Alun Williams yn hyfforddwr i’r garfan gan fod Jamie Davies wedi derbyn cynnig i weithio yn academi clwb Dinas Manceinion. Pob lwc i’r hogiau ac i’w hyfforddwyr cydwybodol am weddill y tymor. One of the successes this season has been the introduction of a U-10’s team into the Academy structure. The 18 players who showed up at the trials had the potential needed to join the Academy. Despite the lack of a scheduled fixture list, coach, Gethin Jones set about arranging a series of games for the team. The benefits of elite coaching became apparent as defeats in the early games against Caernarfon and Bala were turned around and the re-matches provided victories for the Port youngsters. There was also a win over Airbus. The majority of this season’s U-12’s were new to the Academy and to overcome an early shortage of players the squad was added to as the season progressed. Though without a win they have developed and show potential. Next season will see the rewards for their commitment. Alun Williams has recently been appointed coach to the U-12’s as previous coach Jamie Davies has been offered a position with Manchester City FC. Best of luck to both squads and their dedicated coaches for the remainder of the season. 12/02/16 Rhestr Gemau mis Mawrth / Revised fixtures: March Isod gwelir y rhestr gemau ar gyfer mis Mawrth, gyda’r pedair gêm ar Y Traeth. Below is the revised fixture list for March, with all four games scheduled for the Traeth. 05/3 Port v Fflint 12/3 Port v Bwcle / Buckley 19/3 Port v Caergybi /Holyhead 26/3 Port v Derwyddon Cefn 11/02/16 Cegidfa nesa’ / Guilsfield next-up Pnawn Sadwrn fydd Port yn wynebu gêm gynghrair anodd wrth i Cegidfa ymweld â’r Traeth. Bydd yn gyfle i wneud yn iawn am fethiant y Sadwrn diwethaf yng Nghonwy i guro gêm lle cafwyd gymaint o’r meddiant. Y tymor hwn y sgoriwr cyson Danny Barton sy’n rheoli’r clwb. Bu ei goliau yn allweddol wrth i’r clwb o’r canolbarth ddringo’r tabl dros y tymhorau diwethaf. Roedd 2014/15 yn un llwyddiannus iawn i’r clwb, yn gorffen yn y 3ydd safle ac, hyd yn hyn, y tymor hwn maent yn y 5ed safle, gyda 4 pwynt yn fwy na Port er chwarae pedair gêm yn llai. Yn y gêm gyfatebol ynghynt yn y tymor roedd Port mewn safle cryf iawn ar yr hanner, diolch i goliau gan Leon Newell ac Asa Hamilton. Yna daeth Cegidfa yn ôl a sgorio tair gwaith yn yr ail hanner gyda Sam Litchfield yn rhwydo’r drydedd yn y munudau olaf. Y tymor hwn mae Cegidfa wedi colli ond un o’u gemau oddi cartref gan ennill chwech gyda dwy yn gyfartal. Ond ar eu cae eu hunain maent wedi colli tair o’u chwe gêm. Mae gemau rhwng Port a Chegidfa dros y tymhorau diweddar wedi bod yn rhai agos iawn gyda dim ond un gôl gan amlaf yn rhannu’r ddau glwb ar ôl 90 munud. Gallai fod yr un fath pnawn Sadwrn eto. Felly –C’mon Port! Port face a difficult league encounter on Saturday when Guilsfield visit the Traeth. It will provide an opportunity to rid themselves of any hangovers remaining from last week’s disappointing result at Conwy. This season the Guils are being managed by their star striker Danny Barton whose goals have been instrumental in the club’s rise up the table over the past few seasons. Last season was a highly successful one for the Guils as they finished in third spot in the HGA and this season, currently lie in fifth place, four points more than Port but having played four fewer matches. In the corresponding fixture at the mid-Wales’ club’s ground, Port found themselves beaten from what looked like a winning position. Goals from Leon Newell and Asa Hamilton, before 20 minutes had elapsed, was somehow turned over, with Guilsfield scoring three times in the second half and Sam Litchfield’s winning goal coming just three minutes from time. An interesting statistic from the mid-Wales club’s record this season is their winning form on the road. They have lost just one of their nine away fixtures, winning six with two draws. In contrast they have been beaten three times on home territory out of the six games played. Games between our two clubs have invariably been tight affairs over the past few seasons with rarely more than a goal separating the two sides at the end of 90 minutes. Saturday’s clash may well be little different. C’mon Port! 06/02/16 Craig yn siarad am y gêm heddiw / Craig’s post match thoughts Yn dilyn y canlyniad siomedig heddiw mae Craig yn rhoi ei farn i’r cefnogwyr. Craig has spoken out after today’s disappointing result giving supporters his take on events. “Travelling to Conwy today I must admit I was confident that we would perform and get the win to start another run going, so I'm extremely disappointed now after losing the match and looking back at how the game went, so should I be! “I'll take nothing away from Conwy, they worked hard throughout the game and even more so when they went down to 10 men. They have recently had new management and a re-shuffle to their squad and I know it was a crucial win for them. For this I can only congratulate them and wish them well in their remaining fixtures. “Being more critical and looking at us however, I'm left frustrated and angry at the fact we've lost the game, given how we've performed in the previous games. I believe I was right in going into the game with confidence. “We played some good stuff this afternoon and dominated large spells of the game. Jamie McDaid impressed on his debut, looking sharp and linked up well in the final 3rd. We started brightly and moved the ball around really well, we should've taken the lead early through Asa which may have given us confidence to go on but Conwy went ahead which was certainly against the play and the goal lifted them, our early good spell was over shadowed by being one down. We showed patience and character to get back in the game and should've come in ahead at half time. “Second half was more of the same, with us dominating the game and at times we moved the ball well but failed to capitalise on clear goal scoring opportunities, this being the case throughout the 1st half and even more so in the second. We were simply not good enough in the final 3rd and as a defensive unit we also conceded poor goals that could have been prevented. “What is even more disappointing is that looking back at the games we have lost this season, there are similarities between them all. We dominate possession, create fantastic opportunities but we seem to lose these games through not taking our chances when they arise! “It's what we call 'Game changing chances' they are massive in football and we certainly create a few of them per game! It is taking these chances when they arise that paves the way of the game but if you don't for some reason you are punished. This is football and that is how it is ! I'm disappointed that we have not learnt from previous experiences but I also believe in my players and the quality that they have. “There is no excuse for today's loss, we were simply not good enough and that sums it up, the lads know this and they are all disappointed at today's result. “The season so far has been extremely frustrating for us all and one I feel that we have so far under achieved as a squad. That does not mean that we will give up, we will continue to fight each week to ensure we finish as high as possible but we are also realistic and honest and I know that we must improve to succeed as a team for the club and the fans, it is what they deserve. “My thanks go to everyone who travelled to Conwy today and my apologies for not getting the result. On to training, hard work and back to winning ways next week! Come On Port!!" Thanks Paps 06/02/16 Gêm Ymlaen / Game ON Yn dilyn archwiliad o’r cae mae’r gêm yn erbyn Conwy YMLAEN. 2pm sylwer!! Following a pitch inspection the game at Conwy is ON. Please note at 2pm 04/02/16 Jamie yn ôl / Jamie’s back ![]() “Mae Jamie yn ychwanegiad gwych i’r garfan, meddai Craig, a bydd yn dod a rhywbeth gwahanol. Ers iddo ddweud ei fod am adael Caernarfon nid yw wedi bod yn brin o wahoddiadau i ymuno a chlybiau da iawn. Felly rwy’n hapus ei fod wedi penderfynu mai Port ydy’r lle iddo fo. “Mae yn chwaraewr o’r safon uchaf yn y gynghrair hon, gyda record sgorio sy’n profi hyn. Rwy’n edrych ymlaen i weithio efo Jamie rhwng rwan a diwedd y tymor a thu hwnt. “Bydd yn ychwanegu at linell flaen sydd eisoes yn cario dipyn o fygythiad gyda record dda o ganfod y rhwyd. “Ffitiodd Jamie yn syth i’r garfan wrth iddo ymarfer gyda ni yn ystod yr wythnos. Mae yn hogyn ffit iawn a bydd yn y garfan yng Nghonwy pnawn Sadwrn. “Croeso ‘nol Jamie!” Craig Papirnyk said tonight “I would like to announce that we have secured the signing of Jamie McDaid today.” Jamie previously played for Port between 2010-2012, making 33(+17) appearances, scoring 10 goals. Craig added “Jamie is a fantastic addition to our squad and he will bring something different to what we already have. Since his announcement about leaving Caernarfon a few weeks ago, he has by no means been short of invitations to join some very good clubs this past month, so I am delighted that Jamie decided for himself that Port was the place he wanted to be. “Jamie is a player of the very highest quality in this league his goal scoring record is certainly proof of this. I am really looking forward to working with him until the end of the season and beyond. “He will add a real threat in our already dangerous forward line and with his goal scorer record, I am sure he will benefit us massively on the field. “Jamie trained with us this past week and fitted straight in amongst the lads. He keeps himself in great shape and will come straight into Saturday's squad to face Conwy. “Welcome back to Port Jamie !!" 04/02/16 Newyddion am y Garfan / Team news Mae ail arwyddo Jamie wedi dod ar amser da gan fydd Gruff John Williams a Josh Davies ddim yn y garfan at pnawn Sadwrn. Bydd Port yn teithio heb Gruff sydd ddim ar gael a Josh sydd â anaf i’w ffêr a fydd hyn yn ei gadw allan o’r tîm am tua pythefnos. Jamie's arrival has come at a good time as Port will be without Gruff John Williams and Josh Davies on Saturday. PORT will travel without Gruff who is unavailable and Josh who has been carrying an ankle ligament injury the last few weeks and will be sidelined for two weeks. 04/02/16 Conwy nesa’ / Conwy next-up ![]() Er i Port golli mewn gêm agos iawn yng Nghaernarfon, cafwyd perfformiad da unwaith eto ,a gall y garfan deithio i Gonwy mewn ysbryd da, gan anelu i gadarnhau eu safle yn hanner uchaf y tabl. Ond ni fydd yn hawdd gan fydd Conwy hefyd yn benderfynol o godi pwyntiau er mwyn dringo’r tabl o’u safle presennol. Amdani Port! On Saturday Port will visit Conwy in a game which kicks off at 2PM. Since Port beat Conwy by the odd goal in mid-November, the North coast club have played four games with mixed results, gaining a share of the points in the difficult fixtures against Prestatyn and Holyhead but in their other two games losing heavily, conceding five goals against both Buckley and Holywell. The club are now managed by Jason Aldcroft, who took over the reins from Aden Shannon. Ahead of Saturday’s clash he has brought in three new players, Jordan Haskell from Southport, keeper Jack Lynch formerly with Buckley and Ross Howcroft-Jones has re-joined from Llandudno. Despite last Saturday’s narrow defeat, it was another good performance from Port and they can approach the game in good spirit with the aim of consolidating a position in the top half of the table. But Conwy, who find themselves too near the bottom three, will also be looking for points to start a move up the table. C’mon Port! 03/02/16 Torf Uchaf / Best gate ![]() Y penwythnos diwethaf yr unig gêm yn UGC i groesi’r 500 oedd honno yn Nantporth rhwng Bangor a’r Rhyl gyda thorf o 505. Am y gemau eraill roedd 172 yn Port Talbot, 273 yn gweld TNS yn erbyn Cei Conna, 255 yn Llandudno a 167 yn Y Bala. The highest gate in the Welsh Pyramid last Saturday was the 567 who saw an end to end thriller at the Oval, a game full of incident quality goals and determined defending, with the result remaining in doubts right up to the final whistle. The game was a credit to both teams and their coaching staffs. It further enhanced the reputation of the Huws Gray Alliance which has become a strong competitive league providing an excellent standard of football for supporters. Last weekend the only WPL fixture to cross the 500 gate mark was that between Bangor City and Rhyl at Nantporth which attracted a crowd of 505. As for the other WPL matches last weekend there were 172 at Port Talbot, 273 for TNS v Connah’s Quay,255 at Llandudno and 167 at Maes Tegid, Bala. 01/02/16 Taro deg / Julian at the double Mae blaenwr ugain oed Port, Julian Williams, wedi cyrraedd ffigurau dwbl gyda’i gôl wych ar yr Oval pnawn Sadwrn. Yn anffodus doedd hi ddim yn ddigon i ennill y gêm! O’r deg gôl mae 9 wedi dod mewn gemau cynghrair, gan gynnwys ei hatric ar Y Traeth yn erbyn Llanfair United, a’r llall yng Nghwpan Huws Gray. Mae wedi bod ar rhediad arbennig yn ddiweddar , yn rhwydo 5 gwaith yn ei dair gêm ddiwethaf. Julian Williams, Port’s 20 year-old forward, has reached double figures with his 10th goal of the season at the Oval on Saturday and what a strike it was despite being in a losing cause. Julian has scored 9 of his goals in league games, including his hat-trick at the Traeth against Llanfair United, and once in the Huws Gray Cup. He has been on an excellent scoring streak lately netting five times in the last three matches. 31/01/16 Ymateb Cyfoeth Naturiol/ Natural Resources Respond Mae’r Aelod Seneddol Liz Savill Roberts wedi derbyn ymateb wrth cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru i’w hymholiad ynglyn â’r llifogydd a effeithiodd Clwb Porthmadog yn ystod mis Rhagfyr. Yn ôl y cyfarwyddwr gweithredol Tim Jones cyn yr llifogydd cyntaf ar Rhagfyr 4 a 5, “nodwyd lefel y dwr wrth bont Croesor fel un o'r tri darlleniad uchaf ers i'r orsaf fesur gael ei sefydlu. “Yn y fath amgylchiadau, mae’n egluro, mae trefn ar waith er mwyn cael presenoldeb ym Mhorthmadog i sicrhau bod Drysau Llanw Afon Glaslyn yn gweithio'n effeithiol. “Yn anffodus, gyda'r gorlifdir yn llawn a'r drysau'n cau gyda'r Ilanw, fe effeithiwyd ar y Clwb Pêl-droed. Wedyn ar “..nos Sadwrn 26ain o Ragfyr ... (d)difrodwyd un o'r drysau Ilanw “Mewn Argyfwng fe ddefnyddiwyd y Penstoc, sef y drws trydanol wrth gefn i reoli'r sefyllfa. “Yn dilyn gwaith brys ar y 6ed o Ionawr 2016, bydd modd rheoli'r Ilif unwaith eto drwy ddefnyddio'r drws wrth gefn pan fo angen. Mae gweddill y drysau wedi gweithio fel arfer.” Dywedodd Tim Jones hefyd bydd Astudiaeth o broblemau Ilifogydd ym Mhorthmadog, sydd i'w gyhoeddi yn ystod Chwefror 2016, yn cael ei gyflwyno i’r Cyngor Tref. O safbwynt y clwb dywedodd Dafydd Wyn Jones, “Mae’r Clwb yn edrych ymlaen i dderbyn copi o’r adroddiad. Serch hynny, mae dal amheuaeth bod y gwaith ar y ffordd osgoi wedi gwaethygu y sefyllfa draenio ar y Traeth.” Above is the response by Natural Resources Wales to the letter of our Member of Parliament, Liz Savill Roberts, concerning the floods at the Traeth during December. NRW official, Tim Jones gives the chain of events, describing the water level prior to Dec 4th and 5th at Croesor Bridge as one of the three highest recorded since setting up the station.,br> In these circumstances it is ensured that the tidal doors on the Glaslyn are working effectively. But unfortunately with the flood plain filled, the tide closed the doors and the Football Club was affected. Then on Saturday night on the 26th of December one of the tidal doors was damaged and, in the emergency, an electrically controlled reserve door was used. Following emergency work on the 6th January it will again be possible to control the flow using the reserve door when needed. The remaining doors will close as usual. Tim Jones added that a report will be presented to the Town Council on 16 February on flooding problems in the Porthmadog area. On behalf of the club Dafydd Wyn Jones said, “The club looks forward to receiving a copy of the study. Nevertheless the doubt remains as to the effect the work on the by-pass has had on drainage at the Traeth.” 30/01/16 Tote Ionawr / January Tote Y rhifau lwcus yn y Tote mis Ionawr oedd 25 + 39. Mae ein gwrthwynebwyr ar ben tabl Huws Gray, ac yn anelu i ennill dyrchafiad i UGC. Y Sadwrn diwethaf collodd Caernarfon eu gêm gynghrair gyntaf ers canol mis Medi. Cegidfa oedd y gwrthwynebwyr ac mae’r golled yn siwr o wneud y Cofis yn benderfynol i fynd amdani pnawn Sadwrn. Bydd Port, ar y llaw arall, yn edrych i adeiladu’n bellach ar eu record ddiweddar yn ennill pump o’u chwe gêm ddiwethaf. Ffactor bwysig yn y rhediad diweddar ydy’r nifer o chwaraewyr allweddol sydd wedi dychwelyd i’r garfan ar ôl gwella o anafiadau. Mae hyn yn ei dro yn golygu fod y fainc yn llawer cryfach ac yn rhoi cyfle i’r rheolwr ddylanwadu ar y gêm wrth ddefnyddio eilyddion. Yn y gêm gyfatebol ar Y Traeth clwb yr Oval aeth â’r tri phwynt yn dilyn perfformiad da yn yr ail hanner ar ôl i Port wastraffu mantais hanner cyntaf. Fel arfer mae yna hen ddisgwyl am y gêm ddarbi hon. Edrychwn ymlaen am dorf dda a gêm fydd yn hysbys dda i’r Cymru Alliance. Amdani Port! It’s Gwynedd Derby Day on Saturday with Port visiting the Oval. Caernarfon are at the top of the Huws Gray Alliance and looking to gain promotion back to the WPL this season. Last Saturday they suffered their first league defeat since mid September. That was at the hands of Guilsfield and will make the Cofis will be even more determined to return to winning ways on Saturday. Whereas Port will look to continue a run which has seen them win five out of the last six games. One of the main factors in their improved form is the return to fitness of several key players, which in turn has meant a strong bench giving the manager the chance to influence the game with his substitutions. In the corresponding game at the Traeth Caernarfon took the three points on the back of their second half performance after Port had failed to take advantage of a good first half performance. This derby game is keenly awaited by both sets of supporters and we look forward to a good crowd and a good advertisement for the Huws Gray Alliance. C’mon Port!! 27/01/16 Gig yng Nghlwb y Traeth / Gig at Traeth Clubhouse Gair i’ch atgoffa am y Gig i’w chynnal yng 'Nghlwb y Traeth’ nos Sadwrn nesaf, 30 Ionawr am 8pm gyda Steve Eaves a’r Band. Hyd yma maent heb reoli mewn gêm gystadleuol, ond er hynny wedi cynnal nifer o sesiynau ymarfer. Os bydd y tywydd yn garedig byddant yn cael eu gêm gyntaf pnawn Sadwrn nesaf (2pm) oddi cartref yn Llandyrnog, a phob dymuniad da i’r tîm a’r rheolwyr. Erbyn hyn nid oes rhaniad rhwng Gorllewin a Dwyrain yn y Gynghrair Ail-dimau ond cynghrair agored dros y gogledd yn cynnwys 14 tîm. Cafodd y gêm ddiwethaf yn erbyn Bae Colwyn ar 16 Ionawr ei gohirio, a felly y tro diwethaf i’r Ail-dîm chwarae oedd mewn gêm gwpan yn erbyn Blaenau Ffestiniog ar 17 Rhagfyr. Cyn ddiwedd y tymor bydd rhaid iddynt chwarae 15 o gemau. A warm welcome is extended to Tecwyn Jones and Merfyn Burroughs, who have taken responsibility for the Reserves. They have yet to be involved in a competitive game as a management team but have held a number of training sessions. Weather permitting they should have their first game in charge next Saturday, away at Llandyrnog and we wish them and the team well. With the East/West divisions now discarded, the Reserve League is now an open one involving 14 clubs. The last game due to be played was that against Colwyn Bay Res on the 16 January but that game was postponed. The team have now not played since the cup-tie with Blaenau Ffestiniog on 17 December and they are left with 15 league games to play before the end of the season. 22/01/16 Dan 16: y tymor hyd yma / The season so far: U16s Yn dilyn 2014/15 llwyddiannus mae’r hogiau Dan 14 wedi wynebu tymor anodd wrth symud fyny i oed uwch a chwarae yn erbyn hogiau oedd, ar y mwyaf, blwyddyn yn hyn. Roedd tri o chwaraewyr llynedd hefyd ar gael, a bu’r Academi yn llwyddiannus wrth recriwtio. Yn dilyn gemau cyn dymor cafwyd buddugoliaeth yn y gêm gyntaf o 4-1 ar Y Traeth yn erbyn Bae Colwyn. Yn y gêm nesaf cafwyd buddugoliaeth yng Nghaernarfon o 2-1 yn erbyn tîm oedd yn cynnwys nifer o gyn aelodau o Academi Port. Sgoriwyd y ddwy gôl gan y recriwt newydd Ifan Mansoor . Yn eu trydedd gêm, cyfartal oedd y sgôr 4-4 gyda’r Rhyl yn sgorio’u 4ydd gôl yn hwyr yn yr amser ychwanegol . Parhau â’r cychwyn da oedd yr hanes yn Y Fflint gyda Ifan Mansoor unwaith eto yn rhwydo ddwywaith â’r capten, Thomas Collins yn gwneud y sgôr yn 3-0. Ond collwyd am y tro cyntaf yn erbyn tîm trefnus a chorfforol gryf Derwyddon Cefn o 4-1. Gohiriwyd y dair gêm nesaf a bydd y tymor yn ail gychwyn ar 7 Chwefror. Bydd y grafan yn edrych ymlaen gyda hyder at yr ail hanner o’r tymor gan wybod eu bod yn medru cystadlu. Mae’r garfan yn gynnwys nifer o chwaraewyr da iawn gyda Celt, Osian, Aled a’r capten Thomas Collins wedi bod yn rhan o garfan Canolbarth Cymru. Following a successful 2014/15 season the U14 players faced a tough season moving up to U16 level and playing against players who were usually a year older. Three of last year’s U16 squad were also available. The academy was also lucky with their recruitment. Following pre-season their first game resulted in a 4-1 win at home to Colwyn Bay. This was followed by a 2-1 away win at the Oval against a Caernarfon team containing many former Port Academy players. Both Port goals came from summer recruit Ifan Mansoor Rhyl. The season’s third match ended in a 4-4 draw against Rhyl who drew level thanks to an injury time goal. The good start continued at Flint with Ifan Mansoor again netting twice and a goal from captain Thomas Collins making it a 3-0 scoreline. The first defeat came against a physically strong and well organised Cefn Druids side who ran out winners by 4-1. Following this three games have been postponed and the season is due to continue on 7 February. The second half of the season is approached with some confidence with the squad having thrown off their underdog tag. The squad contains many quality players and Celt, Osian, Aled and current captain, Thomas Collins have all been part of the Central Wales Academy squad. 20/01/16 Gresffordd nesa / Gresford next-up Gresffordd bydd yn ymweld â’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn. Cafodd y clwb o ardal Wrecsam dymor llwyddiannus iawn llynedd gan ennill y WNL, diolch i rhediad eithriadol o 24 gêm yn ddiguro ac yn ogystal cael rhediad yng Nghwpan Cymru. Yn aml mae timau sy’n ennill dyrchafiad yn cael hi’n anodd i addasu i’r lefel uwch ond mae tîm Eddie Maurice Jones yn mwynhau tymor da iawn, ac ar hyn o bryd yn yr 8fed safle, sef dau bwynt yn fwy na Port er chwarae llai o gemau. Cymysg ydy eu canlyniadau diweddar, yn ennill dwy a colli pedair o’u 6 gêm ddiwethaf. Fel Port, llwyddodd Gresffordd i chwarae eu gêm pnawn Sadwrn diwethaf yn curo Caersws ar y Rec. Rhaid mynd yn ôl i dymor llwyddiannus 2002/03 am ymweliad diwethaf Gresffordd â’r Traeth pan enillodd Port o 2-1 diolch i goliau Lee Webber a Dafydd Evans. Yn y gêm draw yn Gresffordd ynghynt yn y tymor, y tîm cartref enillodd o 2-1 diolch i gôl hwyr Corey Smart. Yn y frwydr canol tabl hon bydd y ddau glwb yn edrych i symud fyny’r tabl, ac os ydy Port i barhau â’r cynnydd diweddar bydd rhaid dal at y math o chwarae sydd wedi sicrhau 4 buddugoliaeth yn y 5 gêm ddiwethaf a hefyd cadw’r goliau i lifo. C’mon Port! The visitors to the Traeth on Saturday will be Gresford Athletic. Last season was a highly successful one for the Wrexham area club, winning the WNL after going on an outstanding 24 match unbeaten run and in addition they enjoyed a good Welsh Cup run. Many promoted sides find adjusting to a higher level a problem but Gresford, under manager Eddie Maurice Jones, are having a good season, currently in 8th place with two points more than Port despite having played fewer games. Recently their form has been mixed with two wins and four losses in their last six games. Gresford, like Port, were in action last weekend beating bottom club Caersws at the Rec. For Gresford’s last visit to the Traeth we have to go back to our promotion season of 2002/03 when goals from Dafydd Evans and Lee Webber gave Port a 2-1 win. In our corresponding game at Gresford’s Clapper’s Lane Ground early in the season, Port went down 2-1 with Corey Smart providing a late winner. In this mid-table battle both teams will be looking to push on up the table and, if they are make further progress, Port must continue their good recent run of four wins in five games and also maintain the goal touch displayed in the second half last Saturday,. C’mon Port! 19/01/16 Hatric ar y Traeth? / Who scored a hat-trick at the Traeth? Yn dilyn hatric wych Julian Williams pnawn Sadwrn i ddod a gobeithion Llanfair i ben, rwyf wedi bod yn edrych am hatrics o’r gorffennol gan chwaraewyr Port. Os ydy fy ymchwil yn gywir mae chwaraewyr Port wedi bod yn swil iawn o sgorio hatric ar Y Traeth! Y tymor diwethaf (2014/15) roedd yna ddwy hatric, un yn Ninbych gan Iwan Lewis a’r llall ym Mhenycae gan Josh Davies. Roedd yr un hatric yn nhymor 2013/14 na chwaith yn 2012/13. Wedyn yng ngêm gyntaf 2011/12 rhwydodd Jamie McDaid deirgwaith yn Llangefni. Cafwyd dwy hatric mewn tridiau ym mis Hydref 2010, Paul Roberts ar Yr Oval yng Nghwpan yr Arfordir a Marcus Orlik mewn gêm gynghrair yn Y Trallwng. Sgoriodd Paul hatric arall yn yr un tymor, yn y gynghrair yn Rhos Aelwyd, ond oddi cartref unwaith eto. Yn 2009/10, ar noson wlyb yn Y Drenewydd, cafwyd hatric arbennig gan Chris Jones. Daeth y chwilio i ben yn nhymor 2009/10 a, fel y bysiau diarhebol yna, cafwyd dwy! Yn erbyn Airbus yn UGC sgoriodd Marc Lloyd Williams hatric gan gynnwys un gôl gyda ergyd ffantastig o 40 llathen. Yng ngêm olaf yr un tymor rhwydodd Chris Jones deirgwaith hefyd wrth guro Aberystwyth 4-1. Felly yn ôl fy ymchwiliadau sydyn, hatric Julian ydy’r gyntaf dros Port ar Y Traeth ers Ebrill 25 2009. Os ydych yn gwybod yn wahanol cysylltwch! Following Julian Williams’ excellent hat-trick on Saturday, killing off Llanfair, I have been checking up on previous hat-tricks scored by Port players. If my researches are correct Port players over the last seven seasons have preferred to do their scoring away from the Traeth! Last season there were two hat-tricks, one at Denbigh scored by Iwan Lewis and the other at Penycae from Josh Davies. There were no hat-tricks in 2013/14 or 2012/13. In the very first game of 2011/12 Jamie McDaid netted three times at Llangefni. The month of October 2010 produced two hat-tricks in space of three days, Paul Roberts at Caernarfon in the North Wales Coast Cup, followed by Marcus Orlik at Welshpool in the Cymru Alliance. Paul scored another hat-trick in the same season, but again on the road, this time in the league at Rhos Aelwyd. In season 2009/10 there was a brilliant hat-trick for Chris Jones on a wet night at Latham Park Newtown. The search for a hat-trick at the Traeth eventually comes to an end in season 2008/09 and like the proverbial buses there were two! The first was scored by Marc Lloyd Williams in a WPL game against Airbus which included a sensational goal from all of 40 yards. In the last game of the same season Chris Jones also found the net three times in a 4-1 beating of Aberystwyth. So according to my hurried researches Julian’s was the first Port hat-trick at the Traeth since April 25th 2009.If you know different let me know. 17/01/16 Cysylltiadau lleol Julian / Hat-trick hero has Port pedigree ![]() Daeth gôl gyntaf Julian wrth iddo fanteisio ar smonach amddiffynnol ond roedd y ddwy arall yn chwip o ergydion. Am yr ail derbyniodd y bêl wrth Cai Jones cyn gorffen mewn steil o ongl gul. Yn well fyth o bosib oedd y drydedd i gwblhau’r hatric mewn 13 munud. Cododd gic rhydd o ugain llath dros y wal, cyn i’r bêl droelli modfeddi tu fewn i’r postyn ac allan o gyrraedd y golwr. Mae’r chwaraewr ugain oed a ymunodd o’r Rhyl â chysylltiadau lleol cadarn, gan gynnwys cysylltiadau ym myd y bêl. Dyma’r cyfarwyddwr Dafydd Wyn Jones yn egluro: “Tybed faint o’n cefnogwyr sydd yn ymwybodol o gysylltiadau seren y gem dydd Sadwrn, Julian Williams, gyda’r clwb a hynny yn mynd yn ôl i 50egau y ganrif ddiwethaf? ‘Roedd ei ddiweddar daid ar ochr ei fam, Wil Jones neu Wil Dre/Wil Gawa, yn gefnwr cefn gyda’r clwb ar ddiwedd y 50egau a dechrau’r 60egau. Fe’i anwyd yn Nhremadog ac ‘roedd yn o’r cefnwyr modern cyntaf. Nid yn unig oedd yn daclwr caled ond hefyd ‘roedd yn ddosbarthwr peli clasurol. Gyda chwaraewyr fel Tarw Nefyn ac Orig Williams yn teyrnasu fel cefnwyr caled digyfaddawd ym mhêl-droed gogledd Cymru ar y pryd ‘roedd Wil Dre yn arloeswr. “Ar ochr ei ddiweddar nain, Irene, ‘roedd ei thad William (Bill) Kingshott yn ‘groundsman’ yn y Traeth yn y pumdegau. Hefyd ‘roedd ei hen fodryb, Doris, yn un o’r gwirfoddolwyr pybyr yn y ‘canteen’ yn nechrau yr 1990egau pan ymunodd Port a Chynghrair Konica Cymru. Dipyn o gefndir felly!” Julian Williams’ excellent hat-trick on Saturday was the first by a Port player since December 2014 when Josh Davies netted three times (including two penalties) in the dramatic 5-4 victory at Penycae. Julian’s first goal came when he took advantage of a poor clearance but the next two were super strikes. For the second he received from Cai Jones and finished in style from a narrow angle. Even better was the goal which completed his hat-trick in a mere 13 minutes when he lifted a 20 yard free kick up over the wall and sent it curling inches inside the post leaving keeper mark Richards clutching at air. The 20 year old who joined Port from Rhyl has strong local connections and footballing connections as well. Port director Dafydd Wyn Jones explains: “How many of our supporters realise the strong links Saturday’s 3 goal hero, Julian Williams, has with the club and those links actually dating back to the late 1950’s and early 1960’s of the last century. His late grandfather on his mother’s side, Will Jones or Wil Dre/Wil Gawa, was a classy right back who broke the mould of the old fashioned cloggers. Born in Tremadog he played for Port in the late 50’s and early 60’s. Not only was he a hard tackler but he was also a very good distributor of the ball after he had won it. With hard, no compromise defensive stalwarts like Tarw Nefyn (the Nefyn Bull) and Orig Williams ruling the roost of north Wales football at the time, Will Dre was an innovator and a breath of fresh air. And the link doesn’t end there. “His great grandfather on his late grandmother’s, Irene, side William (Bill) Kingshott was a groundsman at the Traeth in the late 1950’s. Added to this, Julian’s great aunt, Doris, served the Club well as one of the canteen volunteers in the early 1990’s when Port entered the Konica League of Wales. Young Julian has, indeed, a formidable Porthmadog pedigree!” 16/01/16 Gêm YMLAEN / Game ON Mae’r gêm rhwng Port a Llanfair United YMLAEN. Dewch yn llu i gefnogi’r hogia’. Today’s game between Port and Llanfair United is ON. Kick off 2.30pm Support the lads!! C’mon Port! 15/01/16 Archwiliad o’r cae / Morning inspection Mae’r cae wedi’i farcio ar gyfer y gêm yn erbyn Llanfair United pnawn yfory. Ond mae’r cae yn dal yn wlyb ar ôl cawodydd gaeafol yn ystod y dydd, a bydd angen archwiliad o’r cae bore ‘fory cyn gwneud penderfyniad terfynol. Mae pob ymdrech yn cael eu gwneud i sicrhau fod y gêm yn mynd yn ei blaen a byw mewn gobaith fod y rhagolygon am noson oer sych a haul bore ‘fory yn profi’n gywir. The pitch has been marked for game against Llanfair United tomorrow. But following wintry showers throughout the day, the pitch remains very wet and an inspection will be needed tomorrow morning before a final decision can be made. Every effort is being made to try and ensure that the game can go ahead and hopefully the forecast is correct for a cold dry night and some morning sunshine. 12/01/16 Llanfair nesa / Llanfair United next-up ![]() Cafwyd dechrau delfrydol i’r tymor yn curo Bwcle o 5-2. Yn dilyn hyn daeth sioc arall yn curo Prestatyn o 4-1 a Port hefyd yn anffodus yn colli o 5-1 draw yn Llanfair Caereinion. Ers curo Port, dim ond un buddugoliaeth a gafwyd a honno yn erbyn Caersws. O ganlyniad maent wedi disgyn i’r tri isaf yn y tabl a byddant yn dod i’r Traeth ac angen pwyntiau i sicrhau eu lle yn y gynghrair ac osgoi disgyn ar ôl ond un tymor, fel y digwyddodd i Llandrindod. Roedd eu gêm yn erbyn Port yn un rhyfedd ar y naw, gyda Port yn rheoli’r chwarae am gyfnodau hir ond wedyn Llanfair yn taro 5 gwaith a sgorio, gyda pedair o’r goliau yn dod yn yr 16 munud olaf. Bydd hyn wedi’i serio ar y cof wrth i Port chwilio am bwyntiau i symud fyny’r tabl.C'mon Port! Weather permitting (!!) next Saturday will see Llanfair United make their first ever visit to the Traeth. The mid-Wales club are based at Llanfair Caereinion in Montgomeryshire and are in their debut season at this level. The club in its present form only dates back to season 2001/2002 when Llanfair United FC was created with the merger of Llanfair Caereinon and Llanfair Wanderers. The club has made good progress over the past few seasons, first winning promotion to Division One of the Spar Mid Wales League and then two seasons later earning promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance. They made a dream start to life in the HGA. On the opening day of the season they travelled to Buckley and recorded a fine 5-2 win. They went on to cause further upsets beating Prestatyn 4-1 and sad to say Porthmadog by a margin of 5-1. Since that victory over Port they have only recorded one more win, that over Caersws. They have therefore dropped into the bottom three and will be determined to pick up points as they strive to ensure that they can survive at this level and not follow fellow mid-Wales club Llandrindod, who were relegated after just one season in the HGA. The game against Port back in September was a strange one to say the least, with Port controlling long periods of the game of the play ended up being hit on the break no less than five times with four of those goals coming in the last 16 minutes of the game. No doubt the warning will be heeded as Port too need to pick up points from our home matches and make a big push up the table.C'mon Port! 09/01/16 Gohirio gemau / Both games OFF Yn dilyn ymchwiliad o’r cae ar y Traeth gan y dyfarnwr Gareth Jones (Bontnewydd) mae’r gêm heddiw wedi’i GOHIRIO. Hon ydy’r trydydd gêm i’w gohirio ar Y Traeth yn ddiweddar, sefyllfa cwbl unigryw yn hanes Y Traeth a clwb Porthmadog sydd yn ymfalchïo yn eu record wych o gynnal gemau er waethaf tywydd gwael. Mae gêm yr Ail-dîm yn Cyffordd Llandudno hefyd wedi’i GOHIRIO. After an inspection by the referee Gareth Jones (Bontnewydd) today’s game against Cefn Druids is OFF. This is the third consecutive game to be postponed at the Traeth, a unique experience for a club that prides its self in never having to call games off whatever the weather throws at us. The Reserves game at Llandudno Junction has also been called OFF. 09/01/16 Jack a Luke yn gadael / Jack and Luke leave Mae Jack Davis wedi ymuno a CPD Penrhyndeudraeth. Meddai Craig Papirnyk, “Mae’n bwysig i Jack i chwarae gemau. Ers ei anaf wrth chwaraei’r Ail-dîm mae wedi chael hi’n anodd i ennill ei le yn ôl. Mae’n dalent arbennig, a bydd yn dod yn ôl i Port y tymor nesaf. Pob lwc Jack a mwynha’r profiad.” Mae Luke Jones wedi dychwelyd at Derwyddon Cefn. “Nid yw’r symudiad i Port wedi gweithio iddo,” meddai Craig, “mae’n wr ifanc ardderchog gyda agwedd rhagorol ac rwy’n dymuno’n dda iddo.” Jack Davies has joined CPD Penrhyndeudraeth. Craig Papirnyk says,” It's important that Jack gets game time. Since his injury sustained playing for the reserves he has struggled to get back in the side. He's an exceptional talent and will return to Port for next season, good luck Jack and enjoy the experience.” Luke Jones has returned to Cefn Druids. “It just hasn't worked out for him at Port, said Craig, “he's a great young man with an excellent attitude, I wish him all the best .” 07/01/16 Derwyddon nesa / Druids next-up ![]() Daeth rhediad llwyddiannus Port i ben y Sadwrn diwethaf yn erbyn Dinbych ond mor wahanol allai’r canlyniad wedi bod pe byddai ychydig o’r cyfleon niferus wedi’u cymryd. Y tro diwethaf i’r ddau glwb gyfarfod ar Y Traeth cafwyd gêm gyffrous iawn gyda sgôr o 4-4. Gobeithio cawn fwy o gyffro eto ond gyda’r canlyniad iawn! C’mon Port! The next game at the Traeth will be against the promotion challengers Cefn Druids. The two clubs have already met twice this season the honours being shared, with Port gaining a good league win at the Rock with a Iolo Hughes goal after 70 minutes separating the two sides at the end. The second meeting also took place at The Rock, this time in the Welsh Cup, and it was the Druids turn for a victory ending Port’s Cup ambitions by running out comfortable 2-0 winners. The Druids main aim this season will be to regain their place in the WPL, a place which they lost at the end of last season. But with Huw Griffiths back in charge again at the Rock they will be well prepared to battle it out at the top with Prestatyn and Caernarfon Town. But the Huws Gray Alliance is a tough league this season, with no club running away with it. In addition to the league defeat against Port, Huw Griffiths’ team have lost three further games, but interestingly they have won all of their away games and none of their matches this season have ended in draws. The club are on a strong current run of five straight wins. Port’s three match winning run came to end at Denbigh last Saturday but the result could have been very different had a few of the numerous chances created been taken. The last game at the Traeth between the two clubs was an exciting 4-4 draw. Let’s hope for some more excitement but with the right result! C’mon Port! 06/01/16 Rhestrau gemau misol / Monthly fixture lists ![]() In order to tackle the backlog of fixtures resulting from the wet weather over the past 2 months the HGA have resorted to monthly fixture lists. This will mean some changes to the original fixture list produced at the beginning of the season. The first monthly list has been issued for February and the only change will be on 7 February when Port visit Conwy. The other three games remain unchanged. |
