Twf ar y Traeth / Traeth -Ambitious plans

Phil Jones “Dewch i’r Traeth i’r cyfarfod yn y clwb NOS FERCHER nesaf, 29 Ionawr , am 8 o’r gloch a rhowch eich barn yn onest am y datblygiadau.” Dyna oedd apêl y cadeirydd Phil Jones ar Radio Cymru y bore ’ma wrth i gynlluniau uchelgeisiol y clwb gael eu trafod ar y Post Cyntaf.
Ar y rhaglen, amlinellodd y cadeirydd y rhesymeg tu ôl i’r cynllun i gyflwyno cae 3G aml bwrpas bob tywydd ar y Traeth yn lle’r cae traddodiadol presennol.
Dwedodd Phil, “Mae’r clwb wedi bod yn rhan ganolog o’r dref ers 1884 a carwn weld hyn yn mynd ymhellach a dyna’r rheswm tu ôl i’n bwriad i greu y math o gyfleusterau all y gymuned gyfan eu defnyddio gan gynnwys plant a ieuenctid. Ein bwriad ydy cael ail dîm a hefyd tîm merched, yn ogystal a chynnig cyfleoedd ar gyfer pêl-droed i’r rhai sy’n anabl. Bydd y cynlluniau yn hwb i amcan y clwb i adennill eu lle yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru.”
Ychwanegodd aelod o’r bwrdd, Dafydd Wyn Jones, “Bydd y cynlluniau yn cael eu cyflwyno’n raddol fesul gwedd. Eisoes mae ffynonellau ariannol posib wedi’u nodi a bellach mae trafodaethau yn cymryd lle. Bydd y cynlluniau yn trawsnewid y Traeth ac yn ei gwneud yn ganolfan ar gyfer y gymuned a bydd modd yn y dyfodol cyflogi staff i rhedeg y lle.”

“I’d like to see as many supporters as possible at the Traeth Clubhouse next WEDNESDAY, 29 January at 8pm ready to give their honest opinions about the developments.” That was chairman, Phil Jones’s appeal on Radio Cymru this morning when the club’s ambitious plans for the Traeth were discussed on the ‘Post Cyntaf’ news programme.
During the news item the Chairman outlined the reasoning behind the plans to introduce a 3G multi-purpose, all-weather pitch to replace the current traditional grass pitch.
Phil said “The club has been a central part of the town since 1884 and I would like to see this go further and that is why we need to offer the kind of facilities that the whole community can use including children and young people. We aim to have a reserve team and would like to see girls’ and women’s teams here as well as providing football opportunities for those who are disabled. The plans will provide a boost to our aim of restoring Welsh Premier football to the Traeth".
Board member Dafydd Wyn Jones added, “The scheme will be introduced gradually and will be phased. Already possible financial sources have been identified and discussions are taking place. The plans will transform the Traeth and make it a hub for the community and employing staff to run the facility could be possible in the future.

Gohirio yn dilyn storm o law / Cloudburst causes postponement

Glaw Trwm /Heavy Rain Siom fawr i’r cefnogwyr a deithiodd i Benrhyn-coch heddiw. Ychydig cyn 2 o’r gloch agorodd y nefoedd gyda’r glaw yn tywallt a mellt a tharanau hefyd. Gadawodd hyn y cae dan ddwr ac ychydig ar ôl 2 o’r gloch gohiriodd y dyfarnwr y gêm.
Dim ond tair gêm HGA chwaraewyd heddiw. Yn un gêm collodd Llandudno ar Maesdu am yr ail waith mewn 5 diwrnod. Y tro yma o 2-1 yn erbyn Rhaeadr. Cyn hyn un gêm gartref yn unig a gollwyd ganddynt. Enillodd Conwy tri phwynt yn Llanidloes gyda buddugoliaeth o 2-1, tra gurodd Penycae eu gêm yn erbyn Bwcle o 3-1. Mae Steve Walters, rheolwr Penycae, wedi bod yn brysur iawn yn cryfhau ei garfan ac ymysg y chwaraewyr newydd mae cyn chwaraewr Wrecsam, Danny Williams.

A disappointment for travelling supporters and players as just before 2pm torrential rain bucketed down with thunder and lightning thrown in and left the already wet Cae Baker ground waterlogged. The referee called the game of shortly after 2pm.
Only three HGA games survived the weather. One of these produced a second home defeat in five days for Llandudno, this time 2-1 to Rhayader. Before these games the Maesdu club had only been beaten once on their own ground. Conwy Borough picked up three points with a 2-1 win at Llanidloes while Penycae were 3-1 home winners against Buckley Town. Manager Steve Walters has been busy strengthening his squad and his signings include former Wrexham midfielder Danny Williams.

Ryan Jones yn ymuno / Ryan Jones joins Port

Ryan Jones Mae Ryan Jones, chwaraewr canol cae 18 oed, wedi ymuno ar fenthyg o glwb Y Bala. Wrth ei groesawu i’r clwb dwedodd Gareth Parry, “Mae’n chwaraewr ifanc gyda potensial a’r gallu i sgorio goliau inni a chymryd mantais o rhai o’r nifer fawr o gyfleoedd sy’n cael eu creu.”
Mae Ryan yn dod o Gorwen ac wedi’i hyfforddi yn Academi’r Bala. Cafodd ei ddyrchafu i brif garfan y clwb yn haf 2012. Hyd yma mae wedi cychwyn un gêm yn UGC ac wedi ymddangos 23 o weithiau fel eilydd.
Yn ddiweddar cafodd y chwaraewr ifanc ei ddewis i garfan Academi Cymru Dan-18 ar gyfer gemau yn erbyn Gweriniaeth Iwerddon. Roedd hyn yn dilyn cyfnod o ymarfer yn Casnewydd. Bydd y gemau yn cael eu chwarae ar 16 ac 17 Chwefror yn Waterford.
. Bydd y benthyciad tan ddiwedd y tymor ond bydd gan Y Bala yr hawl i’w alw yn ôl ar ôl 28 niwrnod a hynny efo rhybudd o 24 awr.

Ryan Jones, an 18 year old midfielder, has joined Port on loan from Bala Town. Welcoming him to the club Gareth Parry said, “He is a young player with a great deal of potential with the ability to convert some of the many chances we are making and score a few goals for us.”
Ryan, from Corwen, is a product of the Bala Academy who was promoted to the senior squad in the summer of 2012. He has made one first team start during the current season as well as 23 substitute appearances during 2012-2014.
The young player has also been called up to represent the Wales U18´s Academy side for their games against Republic of Ireland. The call-up comes after a training camp which took place in Newport earlier in the month. The matches will take place on, 16 and 17 February in Waterford.
The loan deal is until the end of the season but allows Bala to re-call Ryan after 28 days with 24 hours notice.

Newyddion Carfan / Squad news

Danny Bell Bydd Danny Bell yn treulio ychydig o wythnosau gyda CPD Llanberis. Meddai Gareth Parry, “Fel yn achos Gareth Jones Evans bydd hyn yn rhoi cyfle i Danny adfer ffitrwydd wedi cyfnod allan gyda anaf. Mae Danny yn aelod pwysig o’r garfan ac yn amlwg bydd ar ei ennill o gael amser ar y cae cyn dod yn ôl i’r Traeth.”
Ychwanegodd Gareth, “Roedd yn dda cael y fuddugoliaeth yn Llandudno. Roedd yr hogiau yn haeddu hyn ar ôl eu holl gwaith caled. Er fod yna elfen o lwc i’r gôl roedd yr holl ymdrech yn haeddu’r tri phwynt. Ond bydd rhaid inni ddysgu sut i rhoi gêm i lawr yn enwedig gyda’r nifer o gyfleoedd a cawsom yn hwyr yn y gêm.”

Danny Bell is to spend a few weeks with Llanberis. Gareth Parry said, “This will, like in the case of Gareth Jones Evans, provide Danny with the opportunity to re-build his match fitness after a spell on the injured list. Danny is an important part of the squad and he will obviously benefit from having game time before returning to the Traeth.”
Gareth added, “It was good to get a win under our belts at Llandudno. The lads deserve it for all the hard work they are putting in. Though the goal which gave us the win had an element of luck our hard working performance deserved the three points. We will however have to learn to put games to bed especially with the chances we had late in the game.”

Rhagolwg / Preview: Penrhyncoch

Penrhyncoch Pnawn Sadwrn bydd Port yn teithio i Penrhyncoch am y gêm gynghrair olaf cyn gêm gwpan pwysig yn Nhrefynwy. Wrth edrych ar dabl y tymor diwethaf gwelwn fod Port a Penrhyn wedi gorffen yn y 9fed a 10 fed safle. Er nad yw Port wedi codi cymaint a’n gobeithion eleni mae Penrhyncoch ar y llaw arall wedi llithro i waelodion y tabl gyda dwy fuddugoliaeth yn unig y tymor hwn. Ond yn hanesyddol nid yw Cae Baker yn lle hawdd ac mae nifer o glybiau da wedi cael cryn drafferth yna.
Hon fydd y drydedd gêm oddi cartref yn olynol i Port ond byddant yn cymryd hyder o’r fuddugoliaeth nos Fawrth yn Llandudno. Yn ychwanegol i’r canlyniad, y peth mwyaf cadarnhaol oedd lefel yr ymdrech a'r penderfyniad a ddangoswyd a fel ddwedodd Tudor Owen ar y Trydar, “da iawn Port am berfformiad tîm ardderchog o rhif 1 i rhif 11.”
Yr ochr negatif ydy ein bod yn dal i fethu cyfleoedd ar gôl; yn yr ail hanner tri cyfle un-ar-un gyda’r golwr a hefyd roedd yna elfen o lwc i’r gôl a sicrhaodd y fuddugoliaeth. Ond ennill ydy’r nod a dyna gafwyd. Cafwyd buddugoliaethau ar y ddau ymweliad diwethaf a Chae Baker a phan gyfarfu’r ddau ar y Traeth ym mis Medi, Port oedd yn fuddugol o 3-1. Gobeithio cawn fwy o’r un fath pnawn Sadwrn, ond rhybudd mae yna ddiwedd i pob rhediad gwael -ond nid pnawn Sadwrn gobeithio !!

On Saturday Port travel to Penrhyncoch for what will be the last league match before their key cup-tie at Monmouth. A look at last season’s table shows us that Port and Penrhyn finished in 9th and 10th places. Though Port’s position in the current table has not improved as much as we would have liked it to, Penrhyncoch are, on the other hand, undergoing a considerable slump this season. They have won only twice in the league and find themselves occupying one of the relegation places. But Cae Baker is not an easy ground to visit and many clubs have come unstuck there in recent seasons.
This will be a third consecutive away fixture for Port but they will travel to mid-Wales buoyed by Tuesday’s win at Llandudno. Apart from the result the big positive to be taken from this win was the level of commitment and determination shown and as Tudor Owen put it on Twitter, “well done Port an excellent team performance from no1 to no11.”
The only downside is that we are still struggling to convert our chances; three one-on-ones with the keeper in the second half and the goal which gave us the game had more than an element of good fortune. Yet a win is a win is a win! Port have won on their last two visits to Cae Baker and when the two clubs last met at the Traeth back in September, Port were winners by 3-1. Let’s hope for more of the same on Saturday but a word of warning a bad run does come to an end -but hopefully not on Saturday!!

Bermo ar y Traeth /Barmouth at the Traeth

Isod gwelir adroddiad o wefan Y Bermo.

Barmouth win at home at Porthmadog!!!!!!!!!!!
Barmouth & Dyffryn United comfortably beat Nefyn United this afternoon by two goals to nil in a match that was switched to Porthmadog due to poor ground conditions at the Wern Mynach. Leading by a Ieuan Brookes strike after 26 minutes, the lead was doubled on the hour mark by substitute Shane Jones and what was pleasing for the Magpies was the sight of Manager Pete Griffiths in the home dugout after a difficult period to spur the lads on.
Our sincere thanks to Phil Jones (Chairman) of Porthmadog FC and other members of the Committee for their kind hospitality and the use of their club house for half time refreshments.

The above report is taken from the Barmouth website.

Rhagolwg / Preview: v Llandudno

Llandudno Nos Fawrth bydd Port yn ymweld â Llandudno ar gyfer gêm sydd wedi’i haildrefnu Bydd y gic gyntaf am 7.30pm. Er waethaf ein perfformiadau da, colli oedd yr hanes yn erbyn Caersws a Chaernarfon a hynny am rheswm cwbl amlwg –methu manteisio ar y nifer fawr o gyfleoedd a grëwyd. Mae’r methiant yma yn ei dro yn rhoi pwysau ar amddiffyn sydd wedi edrych yn gadarn ac wedi perfformio’n dda.Fel ddedodd Gareth Parry, "Goliau sy’n curo gemau a goliau sy’n newid gemau."
Hyd yma daeth 19 o goliau Port o’r bartneriaeth lwyddiannus yn y blaen rhwng Leon Newell a Carl Owen ond mae’r ddau wedi dioddef anafiadau yn ddiweddar. Gobeithio gwelwn y ddau yn ôl yn chwarae rhan llawn yn fuan iawn.
Mae Llandudno wedi ennill eu dwy gêm ddiweddaraf yn erbyn Bwcle a Rhydymwyn ond collwyd y gêm flaenorol yn Llanidloes o 4-1. Mae Llandudno yn y 6ed safle yn y tabl ac mae ganddynt record dda iawn ar y Maesdu, yn colli ond unwaith yno. Hefyd mae ganddynt record amddiffynnol dda, gyda ond 7 gôl wedi’i sgorio yn eu herbyn mewn gemau cartref.
Y tro diwethaf i’r ddau gyfarfod Port oedd yn fuddugol o 3-0 gyda Josh Banks, Leon Newell ac Eilir Edwards yn sgorio.

On Tuesday night Port visit Llandudno for a re-arranged HGA fixture with the kick-off at 7.30pm. In our straight defeats against Caernarfon and Caersws the root cause has been clear for all to see. We have dominated games for long periods but have lacked the cutting edge to take advantage of the large number of chances we create. Failure to do this puts pressure on a defence which has looked strong and performed really well. As Gareth Parry commented, “It just proves once more that goals change games and goals win games.”
To date 19 of Port’s goals this season have come from the partnership of Leon Newell and Carl Owen but both have suffered injuries recently. Let’s hope we see both back soon and resuming this fruitful partnership up front.
Llandudno have won their last two games defeating Rhydymwyn and Buckley, having previously suffered a 4-1 defeat at improving Llanidloes. Llandudno are in 6th place in the table and have an excellent record on their own Maesdu Ground losing only one of their 8 home games and they also have an excellent defensive record, conceding just 7 goals at home.
The last time the two clubs met at the Traeth Port won by 3-0 with Josh Banks, Leon Newell and Eilir Edwards netting.

Sylwadau Gareth Parry / Gareth Parry’s Comments

Gareth Parry Roedd Gareth Parry yn amlwg yn siomedig iawn ar ôl colli ar yr Oval neithiwr a hyn yn dilyn colli yn erbyn Caersws yr wythnos ddiwethaf.
“Da ni di chwarae pêl-droed da iawn, yn cadw’r bêl yn dda ac wedi creu digonedd o gyfleon, yn fwy na matsio Caersws a Chaernarfon am gyfnodau hir -eto wedi colli’r ddwy gêm. Mae’n profi unwaith eto, mai goliau sy’n curo gemau a goliau sy’n newid gemau. Mae Caernarfon a Chaersws yn agos at frig y tabl tra’n bod ni yn yr hanner isaf lle da ni’n haeddu bod oherwydd ein diffyg goliau.
“Unwaith eto da ni di gadael goliau meddal i mewn yn enwedig rhai o giciau gosod. Ond er hynny da ni’n rheoli gemau am gyfnodau hir a di’r pedwar yn cefn ddim yn cael eu torri i lawr.
“Mae’n rhwystredig iawn ond mae’n rhaid i bethau newid er gwell yn fuan iawn am ein bod yn chwarae pêl-droed mor dda. Mae gennym gem fawr arall yn dod nos Fawrth yn Llandudno ac yn edrych i weld ein lwc yn newid.”

Gareth Parry was clearly very disappointed after the defeat at the Oval last night this following on from last week’s defeat against Caersws.
“We played some good football, kept the ball well and created plenty of chances and more than matched both Caersws and Caernarfon, yet we have lost both games. It just proves once more that goals change games and goals win games. Caernarfon and Caersws are near the top of the table and we are in the bottom half where we deserve to be due to our lack of goals.
“We have once again conceded soft goals and in particular goals from set pieces. At the same time we dominated both games for long periods and our back four were never broken down.
“It is very frustrating but things have to change soon as we are playing some excellent football and creating so many good chances. We have another big game on Tuesday at Llandudno and I’m certainly hoping our luck will change.”

Newydd da am Gareth / Gareth leaves hospital

Gareth Barker Wedi’r gofid yn yr Oval neithiwr am Gareth Barker mae’n dda medru cadarnhau ei fod wedi dychwelyd adref o’r ysbyty y bore ’ma ar ôl cael ei gadw yn yr yna dros nos er mwyn sicrhau ei fod yn iawn ar ôl dioddef ergyd i’w ben. Mae Gareth Parry wedi sgwrsio efo fo ac yn cadarnhau, “Mae Gareth yn gwella’n dda ac eisoes yn edrych ymlaen at y gêm nos Fawrth yn Llandudno!”
Diolch i bawb am ymateb yn syth i ddelio efo’r sefyllfa , y chwaraewyr yn y lle cyntaf, hefyd y ddau ffisio ac yn arbennig y parafeddygon a ymdriniodd â’r sefyllfa gyda gofal mawr. Ymatebodd swyddogion clwb Caernarfon yn syth i alw’r ambiwlans. Cymerodd y dyfarnwr Gareth Wyn Jones y penderfyniad cywir i ddiweddu’r hanner cyntaf yn fuan er mwyn i Gareth gael ei drin ar y cae. Diolch i bawb.

After the scare concerning Gareth Barker last night at the Oval it is good to confirm that Gareth returned home from hospital this morning having been kept in hospital overnight as a precautionary measure suffering from concussion. Manager Gareth Parry has spoken to him and reports, “Gareth is recovering well and already looking forward to next Tuesday’s match at Llandudno!”
Thanks are due to all those who acted promptly to deal with the situation, players, in the first instance, also physios and, in particular the paramedics who treated Gareth with great care. The Caernarfon officials responded swiftly to call an ambulance which was quickly on the scene. Referee Gareth Wyn Jones also took the correct decision bring the first half to an early end. Thanks and well done.

Newyddion Huws Gray / Huws Gray News

Cymru Alliance Mae dau chwaraewr amlwg yr HGA wedi symud i glybiau yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Arwyddwyd Neil Mitchell gan glwb Y Drenewydd a hynny am yr ail waith o’u cymdogion Caersws. Bu Mitchell yn bla i amddiffynwyr Port ar hyd y blynyddoedd diweddar ac y syndod ydy na’i perswadiwyd ynghynt i drio’i lwc yn ôl yn yr UGC.
Arwyddodd Lee McCardle o Gaernarfon i Gei Conna, clwb sy’n brwydro i gadw eu lle yn UGC. Bu McCardle yn allweddol i dîm y Cofis wrth iddynt sicrhau dyrchafiad o’r Welsh Alliance a wedyn yn y tymor lwyddianus sydd wedi dilyn. Mae gan McCardle ergyd bwerus o giciau gosod ac hefyd wedi sgorio sawl gôl gyda ergydion o bellter.
Bydd colli’r chwaraewyr yma yn ergyd i’r ddau glwb ond mae Caernarfon wedi sicrhau profiad i’w carfan drwy arwyddo’r blaenwr Lewis Codling ar fenthyg o’r Bala. Bu Codling fel McCardle yn chwaraewr ifanc yn Everton.

Two prominent HGA players have made the move to the WPL. Neil Mitchell has switched from Caersws to Newtown for a second spell with the club. Mitchell has plagued Porthmadog defences over recent seasons more than any other player in the HGA and the only surprise is that it has taken so long for a WPL club to take the plunge and bring him on board.
Lee McCardle, a key member of the Caernarfon team that has performed so well after winning the Welsh Alliance, has transferred to Connah’s Quay who are battling to retain WPL status. McCardle has earned a reputation as a dead ball expert and his powerful shot has produced many goals from distance.
Losing these quality players will be a blow to the two clubs. The Cofis have however brought in an experienced forward in Lewis Codling on loan from Bala. Codling like McCardle came through the Everton youth system.

Rhagolwg / Preview: v Caernarfon

Yr Oval, Caernarfon Mae chwaraewyr a chefnogwyr bob amser yn edrych ymlaen i gêm ddarbi a’r tymor hwn cafwyd y bonws o Port a Chaernarfon yn cyfarfod hefyd yng Nghwpan Cymru. Felly gyda’r ddau glwb wedi ennill gêm yr un bydd gêm nos Wener yn penderfynu pwy aiff a hi yn 2013/14!
Mae’r Cofis wedi cael tymor ardderchog fel mae eu ail safle yn y tabl yn cadarnhau. Yn eu cadarnle ar yr Oval maent wedi’u colli ond dwy o’u gemau cynghrair y tymor hwn. Enillodd y Derwyddon yna gyda unig gôl y gêm a Chaersws -yr ymwelwyr â’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn diwethaf- yn ennill o 3-1. Mae hyn yn brawf o safon y perfformiad a gafwyd gan Port yn ôl ym mis Tachwedd wrth ennill a mynd ymlaen yn y Gwpan.
Pan gyfarfu’r ddau ar y Traeth roedd perfformiad Darren Thomas, cyn chwaraewr Port, yn allweddol i fuddugoliaeth y Cofis o 5-2. Bydd y ffaith fod nifer o chwaraewyr Caernarfon hefyd wedi cynrychioli Port yn ychwanegu ychydig o fin i’r achlysur. Mae gan Port broblemau gydag anafiadau i Carl Owen (cracio asen) a Jamie Hulse (anaf i’w gefn) ac ar ôl ddydd Sadwrn Josh Banks hefyd. Problem i Gaernarfon hefyd -colli chwaraewr pwysig yn Lee McCardle sydd wedi ymuno â Chei Conna.
O.N. Caernarfon wedi arwyddo Lewis Codling ar fenthyg o'r Bala.

Players and supporters always look forward to a local derby and this season supporters of Port and Caernarfon have had a bonus with the Welsh Cup throwing up an extra derby game. Both clubs have already chalked up a win each, so Friday night’s meeting at the Oval could be looked upon as the decider!
The Cofis have had an excellent season as their current 2nd place in the table confirms. At their Oval stronghold they have been beaten on only two occasions in the League this season. Cefn Druids won there by the only goal of the game and Caersws, last Saturday’s visitors to the Traeth, also triumphed there by a margin of 3-1. This home League record only goes to prove how well Port played back in November to secure Cup progress.
When the two clubs met at the Traeth former player Darren Thomas proved a key figure in the Cofis 5-2 win. Several other Caernarfon players have previously represented Port, all of which gives the game an extra edge. Port have injury worries ahead of the game with Carl Owen (cracked rib) and Jamie Hulse (back injury) both missing out last Saturday when Josh Banks also picked up an injury. Caernarfon also have a problem having lost the services of Lee McCardle who has switched to Connah’s Quay Nomads.
P.S. Caernarfon have signed Lewis Codling on loan from Bala.

Newyddion am anafiadau / Injury news

Carl Owen Siom i Port ydy’r anaf i Carl Owen a hynny yng nghanol rhediad o gemau anodd. Wedi cyfnod mor hir allan daeth Carl yn ôl iddi yn arbennig o dda ac yn ychwanegol i’w 9 gôl mae wedi bod yn chwaraewr allweddol mewn rôl ychydig yn wahanol i’r hyn a wnaeth chwarae yn y gorffennol. Bydd Carl yn colli dipyn o gemau wedi iddo gracio un o’i asennau yn y gêm yn erbyn Caergybi. Byddwn hefyd yn colli’r golwr Jamie Hulse am gyfnod. Mae Jamie wedi dioddef efo’i gefn a bydd rhaid iddo gael barn arbenigwr cyn chwarae eto. Gyda Gareth Barker yr unig golwr ar gael ar hyn o bryd bydd Gareth Parry yn mynd ati i arwyddo golwr arall. Bu’n rhaid ychwanegu Josh Banks i’r rhestr anafiadau ar ôl iddo orfod adael y maes wedi 12 munud pnawn Sadwrn yn erbyn Caersws.
Da felly oedd croesawu Gareth Jones Evans yn ôl . Mae wedi chwarae dros awr yn y ddwy gêm ddiwethaf a bonws mawr ydy iddo sgorio ddwywaith. Nid yw tymor Paul Lewis wedi cychwyn o ddifri eto ond pnawn Sadwrn cafwyd perfformiad ardderchog ganddo yn dod i’r maes yn lle Josh yn eich atgoffa o’r hyn a gafwyd ganddo ar yr Oval. Bu’n rhaid i Leon Newell fethu’r gêm yn erbyn Caergybi ond da oedd ei weld yn ôl ar ei orau ac yn cael hanner awr ar y cae pnawn Sadwrn. Mae Dan Bell ar ei ffordd yn ôl ac roedd yn y garfan at gêm Caersws. Bu Dan allan ers mis Tachwedd wedi iddo gael anaf yn fuan wedi dod i’r cae fel eilydd yn erbyn Bwcle.

The injury to Carl Owen is a big disappointment for Port who are in the middle of a run of difficult games. After being out for such a long spell Carl, in addition to his 9 goals, has been a key player this season in a slightly different role than in the past. Carl will miss several matches after cracking a rib in the win over Holyhead Hotspur. Goalkeeper Jamie Hulse is still suffering from a back injury and is unlikely to play again until he is seen by a specialist. This leaves Gareth Barker as the only keeper in the squad and Gareth Parry will be looking to add another goalkeeper. Now Josh Banks, who left the field after only 12 minutes against Caersws, must be added to the injury list.
In view of this it was good to see Gareth Jones Evans continue his come back and get a second successive hour under his belt. To score an excellent goal in each of these games was a huge bonus. Paul Lewis’s disrupted season has hardly started but on Saturday he turned in an excellent performance, a reminder of his performance at left back at the Oval. It was also good to see Leon Newell looking sharp when coming on as a sub. He returned after picking up a hamstring pull at Flint. Dan Bell has been out since picking up an injury after coming on as sub against Buckley so it was good to see him back in the squad for last Saturday.

Porthmadog FC invites its supporters to a presentation at the Clubhouse on Wednesday 29 January at 8pm to update people of its plans to transform the Traeth stadium. Recently ambitious plans were unveiled to this effect that include establishing a 3G pitch, a new grandstand to accommodate 400 spectators and four dressing rooms. Phase 2 includes establishing three 5 a side and one 7 a side pitches on the current practice pitch. The aim is to enhance facilities to ensure that it can meet its ambition of returning and consolidating its place in the Welsh Premier, involving more community use of the facilities and ensuring the longer term financial viability of the club.
Detailed costings have now been prepared by professionals and the Club intends to prepare grant applications to a variety of sources. Already discussions have been held with relevant potential funders and more are now planned. If the plans come to fruition then this project will not only benefit the club and its supporters but also the wider community. Since 1884 Porthmadog FC has been an integral part of the local community and the aim is to continue with this role for the next century.
On the evening the plans and financial estimates will be available. An electronic copy of the draft Business Plan is available from – dafyddwynjones@hotmail.co.uk
