Merfyn yn ymuno â Campbell / Merfyn joins Campbell

Mae Merfyn Williams, a fu’n hyfforddi gyda Porthmadog y tymor diwethaf, wedi ymuno gyda Campbell Harrison yng Nghaergybi yn hyfforddwr golwyr.
Mae clwb Port yn ddiolchgar i Merfyn am ei wasanaeth yn ystod y tymhorau diwethaf. Bu’r clwb yn ddyledus iddo am ei barodrwydd i ddod i’r adwy pan fod angen ei wasanaeth yn y gôl. Y tymor diwethaf ni fu angen galw arno tan y gêm olaf o’r tymor yn Rhydymwyn pan anafwyd Richard Harvey. Daeth i’r cae yn yr ail hanner, a fel bob amser roedd yn bresenoldeb yn y cefn.

Porthmadog goalkeeping coach Merfyn Williams has joined Campbell Harrison at Holyhead in a similar capacity.
The club would like to thank Merfyn for his service as coach over the past three seasons. The club have also been indebted to him for providing goalkeeping cover at a time when there was no reserve keeper to call upon. Last season he was not called upon until the final game of the season at Rhydymwyn when he replaced the injured Richard Harvey for the second half and as ever acquitting himself well.

Gôl Campbell / Campbell’s Goal

Campbell Harrison nol yn 2003 / back in 2003 Mae ymadawiad Campbell Harrison yn rhoi esgus braf inni ddwyn i gof un o’r atgofion brafiaf o’r degawd diwethaf. Hynny ydy’r gôl wych ar Gae Ffordd Llaneilian pan ddaeth Campbell i’r cae yn eilydd mewn buddugoliaeth ysgubol 4-1, mewn gêm gwpan Arfordir y Gogledd, yn erbyn Bae Colwyn.
Dyma sut disgrifiwyd y gôl yn yr adroddiad ar y wefan:
“Roedd y tîm o’r Gynghrair Unibond bellach o dan bwysau cyson a doedd hyd yn oed tynnu Carl Owen, ymosodwr gorau Port, ddim yn ddigon i roi rhywfaint o seibiant i’r Bae. Daeth yr amddiffynnwr Campbell Harrison i’r maes fel blaenwr, gan lonni cefnogwyr Port drwy sicrhau ei funud arbennig, gyda gôl gofiadwy yn y 67ain munud. Chwaraewyd y bêl iddo lawr y dde gan John Gwynfor Jones yna trodd Campbell i fewn ac o 20 llath taro’r bêl gyda’i droed chwith i gornel uchaf y rhwyd.”
Disgrifiwyd y gôl gan y cadeirydd Phil Jones fel y gorau iddo weld gan chwaraewr o Port. Ychydig a oedd yn bresennol ar y noson fyddai’n anghytuno. A rhag ofn ichi fod yn gofyn, y sgorwyr eraill i Port ar y noson oedd Gareth Caughter, Carl Owen a ‘r rheolwr presennol Gareth Parry.

The announcement of Campbell Harrison’s departure from the Traeth gives us the excuse to recall one of the outstanding Port memories of the past decade. It’s that ‘wonder’ goal at Llaneilian Road when Campbell came on as a substitute in Port’s runaway 4-1 North Wales Coast Cup tie victory over Colwyn Bay.
This is how the match report at the time described it:
“The Unibond League side were now under constant pressure and even the withdrawal of Port's outstanding attacker, Carl Owen, did not give the Bay any respite. Defender Campbell Harrison came from the bench and took his place up front and much to the delight of the travelling supporters gained his own moment of glory with an outstanding 67th minute goal. He fastened on to a John Gwynfor pass from the right before cutting inside and let fly a 20yd left foot special which curled into the top corner of the net.”
Chairman Phil Jones described the goal as “The best Porthmadog goal for me to see” and few present that April evening in 2002 will disagree. For the record the other Port goals were scored by Gareth Caughter, Carl Owen and current manager Gareth Parry.

Campbell i adael y Traeth / Campbell to leave the Traeth

Campbell Harrison Mae Hotspyrs Caergybi wedi enwi Campbell Harrison, is-reolwr Porthmadog, yn rheolwr newydd y clwb. Bydd yn cymryd lle Emlyn Manley Williams a ymddiswyddodd ar ddiwedd y tymor diwethaf. Bydd Campbell, ar ôl tri tymor o gydweithio gyda Gareth Parry, yn dychwelyd i’r clwb lle gafodd dri tymor llwyddiannus fel rheolwr rhwng 2007 a 2010.
Bu Campbell yn gefnwr i Port yn y Cymru Alliance ac hefyd yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Hefyd roedd yn ffisio’r clwb yng nghyfnod Viv Williams ac Osian Roberts. Diolchir iddo’n gynnes iawn am ei wasanaeth ardderchog i’r clwb.
Dywedodd y cadeirydd Phil Jones “Mae Campbell yn gadael y clwb ar y telerau gorau posib a gyda diolch o waelod calon am ei gyfraniad i’r clwb, fel chwaraewr ac fel rhan o’r tîm rheoli. Deallwn ei rhesymau personol am adael am glwb sydd yn agos iawn at ei gartref, ac mae’n gadael gyda dymuniadau gorau pawb ar y Traeth.”
Ychwanegodd, “Ar lefel bersonol mae wedi bod yn bleser cydweithio gyda Campbell, pob amser yn llawn brwdfrydedd ac ymroddiad. Braf hefyd oedd clywed ei eiriau caredig am glwb Porthmadog ac am y pleser a gafodd tra ar y Traeth.”
Dywedodd Richard Parry, ysgrifennydd Caergybi, “Credwn ein bod wedi gwneud apwyntiad poblogaidd , mae eisoes yn gyfarwydd a nifer o’r chwaraewyr yn y garfan ac rwy’n hyderus mai Campbell ydy’r dyn iawn i fynd a Chaergybi ymlaen i’r tymor newydd.”

Holyhead Hotspur have announced that Campbell Harrison, Porthmadog assistant manager, has been appointed manager as successor to Emlyn Manley Williams who resigned the post at the end of last season. Campbell, after three seasons as assistant to Gareth Parry, has returned to the club he managed during a successful three season spell between 2007 and 2010.
Campbell, who served Porthmadog as a player in both the Cymru Alliance and the Welsh Premier was also club physio during the management period of Viv Williams and Osian Roberts. He is warmly thanked for his excellent service to the club.
Club Chairman, Phil Jones said today, “Campbell leaves the club on the best possible terms and with the heartfelt thanks of everyone at the club for his contribution, both as a player and as part of the management team. We appreciate his personal reasons for leaving and moving to a club which is on his doorstep. He leaves with the best wishes of all at the Traeth.”
He added, “On a personal level working alongside Campbell has been a pleasure always full of enthusiasm and totally committed. It was also good to hear his kind words about the Porthmadog club and his time at the Traeth.”
Holyhead club secretary Richard Parry said, “We believe this will be a very popular appointment, he is already familiar with a number of our playing squad and I'm confident Campbell is the right man to move Hotspur forward into the new season".

Owain yn Ewrop / Owain in Europe

Mae Owain Tudur-Jones, a gychwynnodd ei yrfa ar y Traeth yn hogyn 16 oed, wedi symud i un brif glybiau’r Alban. Ar ôl gadael y Traeth aeth Owain ymlaen i chwarae dros Bangor, Abertawe a Norwich cyn symud i’r Alban. Wedi tymor llwyddiannus a rhydd o anafiadau i Inverness Caledonian Thistle mae bellach wedi arwyddo i Hibernian un o glybiau amlwg y brif ddinas. Pedwerydd da oedd y clwb o’r Ucheldir yn yr SPL llynedd ond er waethaf hyn mae Owain am fanteisio ar y cyfle i chwarae yn Ewrop gyda Hibs.

Owain Tudur-Jones, who started his career at the Traeth in 2000 as a 16 year old, has earned himself a big move in Scottish football. Following his time with Port he went on to play for Bangor, Swansea and Norwich before moving to Scotland. After a highly successful and rare injury free season with Inverness Caledonian Thistle last season, he has now signed for Edinburgh based club Hibernian. The Highland club finished a creditable 4th place in last season’s SPL but the move means that Owain will be playing for Hibs in Europe next season.

Newyddion HGA / HGA news

Huws Gray Alliance Mae’n debygol mai Rhuthun fydd yr unig glwb i golli ei lle yn yr HGA ar gyfer y tymor nesaf. Gyda adroddiadau yn awgrymu fod y Waun a’r Wyddgrug, o gynghrair ardal Wrecsam, am wrthod y cyfle am ddyrchafiad bydd hyn yn golygu fod Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant yn debygol o gadw eu lle. Caiff y cyfan ei ddatgelu’n swyddogol yn y Cyfarfod Blynyddol yn y Fflint ar 8 Mehefin.
Gyda tua tri mis cyn i’r tymor newydd gychwyn eisoes mae nifer o rheolwyr wedi gadael eu clybiau. Mae Gareth Thomas wedi gadael Bwcle ac yn cymryd ei le fydd Aden Shannon, a dreuliodd dymor 2009/10 ar y Traeth. Dau arall sydd wedi gadael ydy Russell Cadwallader o Gegidfa ac Emlyn Manley Williams o Gaergybi y ddau wedi cael tymhorau da yn 2012/13. Ni enwyd olynydd gan yr un o’r ddau hyd yma.
Pwy sy’n arwyddo i bwy fydd y pwnc trafod nesaf ac, er fod clwb Conwy wedi cyhoeddi arwyddo cyn chwaraewyr TNS, Nicky Ward a Barry Hogan, yn ôl gwefan swyddogol yr HGA ni fydd y ffenest cofrestru yn ail agor tan 8 Mehefin.

It now looks likely that Ruthin Town will be the only club to drop out of the HGA for next season. With both Chirk AAA and Mold Alexandra reported to be rejecting the chance of promotion from the Wrexham area league, it probably means that Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant will avoid the drop. All will no doubt be revealed at the league’s AGM on 8 June to be held at Flint.
With almost three months before the start of the new season a managerial merry-go-round has started. Gareth Thomas has left Buckley Town and has been replaced Aden Shannon who played for Porthmadog in season 2009/10. Russell Cadwallader and Emlyn Manley Williams have left Guilsfield and Holyhead Hotspur respectively, both after enjoying successful seasons in 2012/13. Neither club has yet named a replacement.
Who is signing for who will be the next major topic and though Conwy have already announced the signings of former TNS players Nicky Ward and Barry Hogan, according to the official HGA website, the official registration window will not reopen until 8 June.

Edrych i’r dyfodol! / Quick off the mark!

Y Drenewydd / Newtown Gyda wyth o gemau cyfeillgar i’w chwarae cyn 10 Awst, bellach mae llygaid Porthmadog hefyd wedi’u troi at gêm yn Awst 2014!
Roedd clwb Y Drenewydd yn awyddus i drefnu gêm ar Barc Latham y Sadwrn cyn i’r tymor newydd gychwyn ym mis Awst. Ni fu hyn yn bosib gan fod Gareth Parry wedi addo i’n cefnogwyr gwych o Ganolfan Gristnogol Cricieth y byddai’n trefnu gêm adref i gyd fynd a’u ymweliad blynyddol â’r ardal. Aberystwyth fydd ar y Traeth ar y 10 Awst.
Ond bellach mae’r cadeirydd Phil Jones wedi derbyn gwahoddiad tebyg ar gyfer dechrau tymor 2014/15!! Does dim gwell na chynllunio ’mlaen llaw! Meddai Phil, “Ar ôl methu trefnu ar gyfer eleni derbyniwyd gwahoddiad gan y cyfeillion o’r Drenewydd inni fod ymysg y cyntaf i brofi cae artiffisial 3/4G newydd Parc Latham yn Awst 2014. Bydd y cae newydd yn barod ar gyfer ddechrau tymor 2014/15.”

With eight pre-season fixtures lined up before 10 August, Porthmadog have now turned their attention to a game in August 2014!
Newtown were keen to arrange a fixture with Port at Latham Park for the week before the new season starts in August. But this was not possible as Gareth Parry had kept his promise to arrange a home match to coincide with the visit of our wonderful supporters from the Christian Centre at Cricieth on 10 August, when Aberystwyth Town are the visitors.
Chairman Phil Jones then stepped in to accept a similar invitation for the Saturday prior to the 2014/15 season! Nothing like a bit of advanced planning is there? Phil commented, “Having failed to complete arrangements for this summer, our friends at Newtown have invited us to be amongst the first to try out the new 3/4G Latham Park artificial pitch. This pitch will be installed for the start of the 2014/15 season.”

Ymarfer Ail Dîm / Reserves training

Bydd gan CPD Porthmadog ail dîm yn Uwch Gynghrair Ail Dimau Gogledd Cymru yn 2013/14. Dywedodd y rheolwr Neil Roberts, “ Bydd y paratoadau yn cymryd cam arall ymlaen wrth i’r ymarfer gychwyn ar nos Fawrth, 18 Mehefin am 6.30pm, a hynny ar y cae ymarfer ar y Traeth. Mae’r chwaraewyr yn barod wedi derbyn cyfarwyddiadau ymarfer gan Gareth Parry.
Hefyd mae yna wahoddiad cyffredinol i chwaraewyr i gymryd rhan mewn Gêm Ymarfer ar y Traeth, ar nos Fawrth, 9 Gorffennaf, gan gynnwys chwaraewyr tîm cyntaf ac ail dîm. Meddai Gareth Parry, “Bydd y gêm hon nid yn unig i’r tîm cyntaf a’r ail dîm ond i unrhyw un sydd a ffansi treial gyda’r clwb.”

The revived Porthmadog FC Reserves, who will play in the North Wales Reserves Premier League in 2013/14, will soon be commencing the next step in their preparations. Reserve team manager Neil Roberts said, “Things will start in earnest on Tuesday, 18 June when pre-season training commences at 6.30pm on the Traeth training pitch. Players have already received their training schedules from Gareth Parry.”
There is also an open invitation for players to take part in a Trial Match at the Traeth on Tuesday evening, 9 July. This is for first team squad players and reserves. Manager Gareth Parry added, “For this game we invite not only first team and reserve team squads but also anyone who fancies a trial with Port.”

Llanfairpwll a Llanrug / Llanfairpwll and Llanrug

Llanfairpwll Ychwanegodd Gareth Parry at ei gynlluniau gyda gemau yn erbyn dau o’n gwrthwynebwyr cyn dymor traddodiadol, sef Llanfairpwll a Llanrug. Bydd Port yn croesawu’r clwb o Ynys Môn i’r Traeth ar nos Fawrth, 16 Gorffennaf. Y gêm hon, yn erbyn clwb a enillodd ddyrchafiad y tymor diwethaf, sy’n debygol o fod y cyntaf o’r tymor newydd. Dilynir hyn wythnos yn ddiweddarach gydag ymweliad â chae Eithin Duon, Llanrug ar nos Fawrth, 23 Gorffennaf am gêm yn erbyn clwb a gafodd dymor llwyddiannus yn adran gyntaf y Welsh Alliance.

Gareth Parry has added to his pre-season schedule with two games against traditional pre-season opponents Llanfairpwll and Llanrug. Port will welcome the promoted Anglesey club to the Traeth on Tuesday 16 July for what is likely to be our first outing of the season. This will be followed a week later, Tuesday, 23 July, with a visit to Eithin Duon, Llanrug for a game against the Welsh Alliance Division One club who enjoyed a successful 2012/13 season.
