Y glaw yn ennill y dydd /Only one game survives

Y gêm rhwng Rhyl a Chaergybi oedd yr unig un i’w chwarae heddiw. Gohiriwyd y gweddill oherwydd y glaw trwm gan gynnwys y gêm rhwng Conwy a Port, nos Wener. Wrth sicrhau gêm gyfartal 1-1 dilynodd Caergybi esiampl Port, yr unig glybiau i ddwyn pwyntiau oddi ar y Rhyl ar y Belle Vue. Bu’n rhaid i’r dorf o 418 aros tan munud cyn y diwedd am y gôl gyntaf pan aeth yr ymwelwyr ar y blaen drwy Mike Edwards gyda Dave Forbes yn sgorio i’r Rhyl yn yr amser ychwanegol. Mae Rhyl yn aros ar y brig dau bwynt yn well na Chaersws.

The Rhyl v Holyhead Hotspur game became the only HGA fixture to avoid the weekend washout. All other games followed Friday’s match between Conwy Borough and Port as victims of the heavy rain. Drawing 1-1, Holyhead joined Port and became only the second club to take points off the league leaders at the Belle Vue this season. The bumper crowd of 418 had to wait until the 89th minute for the game’s first goal when Mike Edwards put Holyhead ahead with Dave Forbes equalising in added time. Rhyl remain on top two points ahead of Caersws.

Gêm heno wedi gohirio/Tonight’s game off

Yn dilyn ymchwiliad o’r cae bore ‘ma mae’r gem heno (nos Wener) yn erbyn Conwy wedi’i gohirio gan fod cae Y Morfa yn wlyb iawn yn dilyn y glaw trwm diweddar.

Following an inspection of the ground this morning, tonight’s game (Friday) against Conwy has been postponed. The Morfa pitch is waterlogged after recent heavy rain.

Rhagolwg/Preview: Conwy v Port

Conwy Mae gêm anodd yn wynebu Port nos Wener ,oddi cartref ar Gae’r Morfa yng Nghonwy. Gyda personél newydd wrth y llyw yn y clwb a buddsoddiad o bres newydd a hefyd syniadau, mae’r clwb wedi cryfhau a datblygu. Mae’r rheolwr Chris Herbert wedi adeiladu carfan sydd yn gwbl wahanol i garfan y tymor diwethaf. Fel mae’r tymor wedi mynd yn ei flaen mae Herbert wedi bod mewn sefyllfa i ychwanegu at ei garfan. Dau o’r diweddaraf i ymuno ydy Scott Beckett o’r Rhyl a’r golwr profiadol Kristian Rogers. Colli yng Nghaergybi oedd hanes Conwy ddydd Sadwrn ond maent yn dal yn y 4ydd safle gyda 30 o bwyntiau yr un nifer a Derwyddon Cefn sy’n 3ydd.
Daw Port i’r gêm ar ôl colli eu dwy gêm ddiwethaf a’r ddwy ar y Traeth ond yn gobeithio cynnal eu record dda oddi cartref. Maent wedi bod yn ddiguro yn eu 5 gêm ddiwethaf ar y ffordd gyda 3 buddugoliaeth a 2 gêm gyfartal. Byddant yn mynd i’r gêm hon heb Ryan Davies sydd wedi bod yn rhan rheolaidd o’r tîm dros y rhan fwyaf o’r naw tymor diwethaf ond bellach wedi gadael y clwb. Bydd hyn yn ymestyn carfan fechan hyd yn oed ymhellach.

A difficult away game awaits Port on Friday evening at Conwy Borough’s Morfa Ground. Conwy have made great progress this season with an influx of new personnel, on and off the pitch, with fresh investment and ideas. Manager Chris Herbert has strengthened a squad which is unrecognisable from that of last season. He has been in a position to add to his squad as the season has progressed and recent additions are Scott Beckett from Rhyl and a very experienced keeper in Kristian Rogers. Conwy were beaten at Holyhead last Saturday but are in 4th place in the table with 30 points, the same number of points as Cefn Druids in 3rd place.
Port come into this game on the back of two disappointing home defeats but will hope for a continuation of their better form on away grounds. They have not been beaten in their last five league games on the road with three wins and two draws. They will have to go into this game without Ryan Davies who has been a first team regular for the best part of nine seasons but has now left the club. This will stretch an already depleted squad.

Ryan Davies yn gadael / Ryan Davies leaves

Ryan Davies Mae’r amddiffynnwr profiadol a chyn gapten y clwb wedi gadael y Traeth. Nid yw’n hollol eglur os ydy Ryan yn mynd i ymuno a chlwb arall neu ydy o’n bwriadau cymryd toriad o bêl-droed.
Chwaraeodd Ryan dros Port am y tro cyntaf yn nhymor 2000/01 gan ail ymuno yn 2003/04. Yn dilyn hyn chwaraeodd dros y clwb am gyfnod di-dor o 9 mlynedd gan rhoi gwasanaeth arbennig yn cynnwys 150 (+3) o gemau Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Chwaraeodd mewn nifer o gemau cofiadwy dros Port ond mae un yn sefyll allan sef y fuddugoliaeth dros TNS ar y Traeth yn 4ydd Rownd Cwpan Cymru yn nhymor 2006/07. Ar ddiwedd 90 munud roedd y sgôr yn gyfartal 2-2 gyda Ryan yn penio dwy gôl arbennig i Port. Aeth Port ymlaen i ennill 3-2 ar giciau o’r smotyn i fynd drwodd i’r 5ed Rownd.
Dywedodd y rheolwr Gareth Parry, “Carwn ddiolch i Ryan am ei wasanaeth i’r clwb a hynny dros gyfnod hir iawn.”

Stalwart defender and former club captain Ryan Davies has left theTraeth. It is not clear whether Ryan is to join another club or whether he intends to take a break from football.
Ryan first played for Port in season 2000/01 later rejoining the club in season 2003/04 and has played for us since that date giving the club great service including 150 (+3) Welsh Premier appearances. He played in many memorable games for the club, none more so than the Welsh Cup 4th Round victory over TNS at the Traeth in season 2006/07. After 90 minutes it was level on 2-2 with two great headers by Ryan providing the Port goals. Port went on to win 3-2 on penalties and enter the 5th round.
Manager Gareth Parry said, “I would like to thank Ryan for his efforts on behalf of the club over such a very lengthy period.”

We congratulate Jason (Harvey) and Elin who were married on Saturday. We extend our very best wishes to the couple for the future.

Methu ennill adref / Poor home form hits Port

Trwy hyn mae Llandudno wedi symud i un lle ac un pwynt tu ôl i Port.
Yn anffodus realiti brwydro’ch ffordd i fyny’r tabl ydy fod hi’n bwysicach i guro’r timau sydd yn is neu jyst uwch eich pen yn y tabl na codi’ch gêm i fod y clwb cyntaf i gymryd pwyntiau oddi ar y Rhyl ar y Belle Vue -er mor bleserus oedd hyn ar y dydd. Ar y llaw arall mae Llandudno wedi dringo’r tabl drwy fanteisio ar y ddwy gêm yn erbyn Llanrhaeadr, clwb sydd wedi yn cecru, a wedyn curo Port heb orfod creu cyfleoedd.
Mae Port yn aros yn 9fed ond wedi chwarae mwy o gemau na rhai o’r timau o’u cwmpas. Mae adroddiad i’w weld yn yr adran ADRODDIADAU.

Saturday’s defeat at home to Llandudno completes a poor three match run of home form which has seen them collect just one point out of the last nine at the Traeth. Once again it was a combination of a failure to capitalise on the possession and territorial advantage while conceding two cheap goals –one a gift and the other a penalty. It enabled Llandudno to move to just one place and one point behind Port.
Unfortunately the reality of battling your way up the table is that it is more important to win against the clubs below you or just above you in the table than to raise your game to become the first club to take points from Rhyl at the Belle Vue –enjoyable as that was on the day. In contrast Llandudno have moved up the table taking full advantage of a double header against Llanrhaeadr, who are in something of a turmoil, and then beating Port without having to create any chances.
Port remain 9th in the table but have played more games than some of the clubs around them. A full match report can be found in the REPORTS section.

Rhagolwg:Port v Llandudno / Preview: Port v Llandudno

Llandudno Pnawn Sadwrn Llandudno bydd yn ymweld â’r Traeth a hynny am yr ail waith y tymor hwn. Ond erbyn hyn mae llawer wedi newid yn Llandudno gyda ymadawiad eu rheolwr Deiniol Graham. Yn ei le mae’r clwb wedi apwyntio cyn rheolwr Aberystwyth a chyn chwaraewr Tranmere, Alan Morgan. Chwaraeodd Morgan ychydig o gemau yng nghanol cae i Port ar ddechrau tymor 2003/04.
Fel Port , cychwyn digon simsan cafodd Llandudno i’r tymor ond tra fod Port wedi codi yn y tabl yn dilyn rhediad gwell mae Llandudno wedi aros yn agos i’r gwaelod. Ond cafodd Alan Morgan ddechrau llwyddiannus gyda dwy fuddugoliaeth gefn wrth gefn dros Llanrhaeadr clwb arall sydd wedi newid rheolwr. Mae chwe phwynt gwerthfawr wedi codi Llandudno o’r tri gwaelod i’r 12fed safle gyda 15 o bwyntiau dim ond pedwar yn llai na Port.
Mae Port wedi'i chael hi’n anoddach ennill ar y Traeth eleni nac oddi cartref ac roedd methu ail-adrodd y math o chwarae a gafwyd ar y Belle Vue yn siom pnawn Sadwrn diwethaf. Un o’r ychydig bethau sydd wedi ffafrio Gareth Parry yn ddiweddar ydy ei fod wedi cael dewis yn agos at yr un tîm am y bedair gêm ddiwethaf. Er hynny tenau oedd ei opsiynau ar y fainc. Ond bydd Grahame Austin ar gael ddydd Sadwrn yn dilyn gwaharddiad. Bydd Llandudno yn gosod sialens anodd ac mae’r gemau blaenorol wedi dangos y math o broblem mae Seager a Tierney yn medru gosod wrth dorri’n sydyn. Wedi’r siom ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf gobeithio gwelwn y math o chwarae a gafwyd yn y rhediad o 7 gêm diguro.

On Saturday we welcome Llandudno to the Traeth for the second time this season. But much has changed at Llandudno in recent weeks. With the departure of Deiniol Graham from the manager’s seat at Maesdu, the club have appointed the former Aberystwyth manager and Tranmere Rovers player, Alan Morgan, as their new manager. Morgan is also a former Port player, having played a few games in midfield for the club at the start of season 2003/04.
Llandudno like Port made a poor start to the season but whereas Port have climbed in recent weeks with a good run of league form, Llandudno have remained stubbornly in the bottom three places for most of the season. But Alan Morgan has made a winning start with back to back wins over strugglers Llanrhaeadr who are themselves going through backroom changes. These six valuable points have lifted Llandudno out of the bottom three and up to 12th place with 15 points, only four fewer than Port.
Port have struggled to repeat their away form back at the Traeth and last Saturday’s defeat was a disappointment following on the great performance at the Belle Vue. Gareth Parry has had something of a luxury in recent weeks being able to put out a virtually unchanged team though his choices on the bench are now rather limited. On Saturday he will have Grahame Austin back from suspension. Saturday will be a crucial test and past experience points to the damage Seager and Tierney can cause on the break. Let’s hope that last Saturday was just a hiccup and that the recent run of form can continue.

Cefnogaeth isel Rhagfyr / Low crowds in December

Neb yn y Stand / No one in the stand Mae’r cyfnod yn arwain at y ’Dolig bob amser yn un drwg am ddenu torf ac yn sicr roedd hyn yn wir ddydd Sadwrn. 115 oedd y dorf isaf o’r tymor ar y Traeth. Roedd gweddill y rhaglen a gafodd ei hadrefnu yn waeth gyda 89 yn Llanrhaeadr, ond 47 yn Rhuthun a 43 yn Cegidfa. Roedd Caersws, er eu llwyddiant, yn bell o dan eu torf arferol gyda 112. Mae consyrn y gynghrair i fod ar y blaen rhag i’r tywydd droi’n ddrwg yn ddealladwy, ond gyda tymor Port i orffen ar 16 Mawrth mae’n rhaid amau os oedd adrefnu ar gyfer 8 Rhagfyr yn ddoeth.
Yr un fath gyda gemau Cwpan Cymru ac eironi’r sefyllfa oedd mae ar gae Caergybi o’r HGA oedd y dorf fwyaf -307. Roedd 217 yn Bangor, ymhell i lawr ar y dorf arferol, a dim ond 102 yn gweld Cei Conna’n chwarae Llanelli a 101 yn Afan Lido. Mae torfeydd isel fel hyn yn codi cwestiynau am y doethineb o chwarae cystadleuaeth mor bwysig ar adeg pan mae torfeydd bob amser yn isel.

The run up to Christmas is a notoriously bad time for attendances and so it proved last Saturday. Port’s crowd of 115 was their lowest of the season. The remainder of the rearranged fixtures programme fared even worse with 89 at Llanrhaeadr, only 47 at Ruthin and 43 at Guilsfield. Even high flying Caersws were well down on their average attendance with 112. We understand the HGA’s concern to be proactive in case of bad weather ahead but with Port’s current fixture list due to be completed as early as 16 March there have to be question marks against the need for a rearranged programme for 8 December.
The crowds at Welsh Cup games on Saturday seem to confirm the same thing. Ironically a HGA club had the highest attendance of the day with 307 at Holyhead. Bangor City were well below average on 217, there were only 102 at Connah’s Quay for the visit of Llanelli and 101 at Afan Lido. Such poor crowds for a premier cup competition must call into question the wisdom of holding the Welsh Cup 3rd round in the run up to Christmas.

Newyddion cymysg am anafiadau / Mixed news on injuries

Gruff John Ar ôl ei ymddangosiad fel eilydd yn y Rhyl roedd Carl Owen ddim ar gael ddydd Sadwrn. Dywedodd Gareth Parry, “Roedd yn wych gweld Carl Owen yn ôl ar y cae wythnos ddiwethaf ac rwy’n gobeithio y gwelwch llawer mwy ohono dros yr wythnosau nesaf.” Newyddion da yn wir.
Mae’n ychwanegu, “Y newyddion cadarnhaol arall ydy fod Gruffydd John yn gwella ac yn debygol o chwarae yn gynnar yn y flwyddyn newydd.” Mae hyn yn newyddion da gan i’r cefnwr/chwaraewr canol cae rhyngwladol Cymru Dan-18, sefydlu ei hun yn rheolaidd yn y tîm cyntaf, cyn iddo gael anaf, gan ddechrau 11 o gemau HGA y tymor hwn.
Nid yw’r newyddion cystal am chwaraewr ifanc arall, gyda’r rheolwr yn dweud, “Rym yn dal i deimlo’n rhwystredig iawn wrth aros i Gareth Jones Evans wella’n llawn.” Mae hyn yn siom i’r clwb ond yn enwedig i’r chwaraewr ifanc talentog hwn. Byddai unrhyw glwb yn colli ei allu i symud y chwarae o sefyllfa amddiffynnol i’r blaen gyda’i cyflymder a phasio cywir.

Carl Owen, after his sub appearance at Rhyl, was unavailable last weekend. Gareth Parry observes, “It was great to see Carl Owen back on the field last week and I hope you see a lot more of him over the coming weeks.”
He adds, “Other positive news is that Gruffydd John is hopeful of a return to action early in the New Year.” This is good news as the Wales U-18 international right back/midfielder had established himself as a first team regular prior to his injury, with 11 HGA starts this season.
The news concerning another young player is not so positive with the manager reporting, “We still frustratingly wait for Gareth Jones Evans to make a full recovery.” This is a disappointment for the club and especially for this talented young player. His ability to switch play from defence to attack with his pace and passing skills is being sorely missed by Port, as it would by any club at this level.

Port i lawr dau / Port down two places

Cymru Alliance Ar y Traeth ddoe methodd Port ddangos y math o chwarae a gafwyd mewn tair gêm oddi cartref, ac o ganlyniad llithro’n drwm yn erbyn Bwcle oedd yr hanes. Er iddyn nhw frwydro ’nol ar ddechrau’r ail hanner gyda gôl gan Leon Newell, aeth Bwcle ymlaen i sgorio tair gôl arall gan sicrhau buddugoliaeth o 4-1.
Felly gyda’r golled hon mae’r rhediad lle gwelwyd Port yn dringo’r tabl wedi stopio, dros dro o leiaf, a gyda Cegidfa hefyd yn curo Penrhyncoch maent wedi disgyn dau le yn y tabl i 9fed. Mae’n dynn iawn yn nghanol y tabl gyda ond chwe phwynt yn gwahanu 7fed oddi wrth yr 12fed.
Rhaid gobeithio eu gweld yn ôl ar eu gorau cyn ymweliad Llandudno yr wythnos nesaf. Tanlinellwyd maint y perfformiad yr wythnos ddiwethaf ar y Belle Vue wrth i’r Rhyl rhoi curfa o 5-2 i Aberystwyth, clwb UGC, yng Nghwpan Cymru gan wneud y perfformiad yn erbyn Bwcle yn fwy fyth o sioc. Mae yna adroddiad o gêm Port v Bwcle i’w gael yn y rhan ‘Adroddiadau'.

Back at the Traeth Port failed to repeat the kind of form shown on the road, as they slipped to a surprisingly heavy defeat at the hands of mid-table rivals Buckley Town. An early second half fight back with an equaliser from Leon Newell, was then thwarted by a three goal Buckley response, enabling the Flintshire club to run out 4-1 winners.
The steady climb up the table has stuttered this week and the defeat, together with Guilsfield’s 3-2 win at home to Penrhyncoch, means that Port drop two places in the table to 9th. It is very tight in mid-table with only six points separating 7th and 12th places.
We must hope for a quick return to best form by next week when Llandudno are the visitors. The level of last week’s achievement at the Belle Vue was underlined by Rhyl’s 5-2 Welsh Cup thumping of WPL club, Aberystwyth Town and makes all the more inexplicable this week’s fall from grace. A report of the Port v Buckley game appears in the reports section.

Rhagolwg/Preview: v Bwcle/Buckley

Bwcle / Buckley Am yr ail dro mewn pythefnos mae Port yn chwarae Bwcle –y tro yma ar y Traeth. Chwaraewyd y gêm honno ar gae gwlyb, mwdlyd ond er waethaf hynny cafwyd gêm y gall y ddau glwb fod yn falch o’u cyfraniad. Er i’r gêm orffen yn gyfartal ddi-sgôr , roedd digonedd o gyffro i’r cefnogwyr fwynhau.
Ond o leiaf roedd y gêm gyfartal yn torri ar rhediad gwael Port o golli pedair gêm yn olynol yn erbyn y clwb o Sir Fflint dros y ddau dymor diwethaf. Y tro diwethaf i’r ddau gyfarfod ar y Traeth roedd chwaraewyr Port newydd glywed am benderfyniad y Gynghrair i docio tri phwynt oddi ar y clwb am gynnwys chwaraewr wedi’i wahardd yn eu tîm. Roedd yr effaith yn amlwg gyda Port yn mynd tu ôl yn syth a 3-0 i lawr ar ôl 13 munud.
Y tro yma mae Port yn dychwelyd i’r Traeth am y tro cyntaf ers 3 Tachwedd a hynny ar gefn rhediad diguro gyda’u perfformiad ar y Belle Vue y gorau o’r tymor. Roedd yna gyfnod gwych o basio o safon uchel yn nghanol yr hanner cyntaf a arweiniodd hyn at gôl gyntaf dda i Josh Banks. Roedd yn dda hefyd gweld Carl Owen yn dod i’r cae yn hwyr fel eilydd. Mae lefel ymroddiad y garfan wedi bod yn arbennig ac maent yn haeddu clod y cefnogwyr i gydnabod eu teyrngarwch.

For the second time in a fortnight Port take on Buckley Town –this time at the Traeth. The last meeting between the two clubs was played in atrocious conditions at Globe Way but both teams could take much credit from the quality of football served up in such difficult ground conditions. Though it resulted in a goalless draw, the match provided plenty of exciting football.
The draw enabled Port to end a run of four consecutive defeats at the hands of the Flintshire club during the past two seasons. When the clubs last met at the Traeth it came on the back of the League’s decision to deduct three points from Port for playing a suspended player. The effect of the decision on the players was obvious and Port found themselves 3-0 down within 13 minutes.
Port return to the Traeth for their first home game since the 3 November. On the road they have remained unbeaten and last Saturday’s performance at the Belle Vue must be rated as their best of the season. There was a spell of outstanding football midway through the first half with high quality passing leading to a first Port goal for recent newcomer Josh Banks. It was also good to see Carl Owen on the pitch for a late sub appearance. The level of commitment from the squad has been outstanding and let’s hope for a good response from supporters to acknowledge this loyalty.

Chwaraewyr yn diolch / Players say thank-you

Dan Pyrs - Diolch Mae’r awyrgylch a grëwyd gan y Pathfinders ddydd Sadwrn ar y Belle Vue wedi gwneud argraff fawr ar y chwaraewyr. Meddai’r cadeirydd, Phil Jones, sydd hefyd y gyrru mini bws y clwb, “Y prif bwnc trafod ar y bws yn teithio yn ôl o’r Rhyl oedd y gefnogaeth a gafwyd gan y cefnogwyr ifanc tu ôl i’r gôl.”
Yn siarad ar rhan y chwaraewyr i gyd dywedodd Dan Pyrs, “Does gan y cefnogwyr ifanc yma ddim syniad o’r hyn mae’n olygu i’r chwaraewyr i dderbyn y math yma o gefnogaeth, y canu a’r bloeddio cefnogaeth sy’n treiddio atom ni ar y cae. Mae’n codi’r chwaraewyr ac yn annog fwy o ymdrech. Da ni gyd yn gwerthfawrogi’n fawr eu bod wedi teithio mor bell i’n cefnogi ni.”
Mae gan y clwb ddyled fawr i’n cefnogwyr, rhai ohonynt yn teithio mor bell i ddangos eu cefnogaeth. Yn ogystal a chefnogwyr o Middlesborough roedd Angela yna yn cymryd toriad o’i gwaith gyda’r Gymdeithas Bêl-droed gan deithio i fyny o Gaerdydd a chyfarfod ei ffrindiau Dave ac Angela wedi dod draw o Ganolbarth Lloegr. Fel ym mhob gêm oddi cartref roedd cynrychiolaeth dda o selogion y Traeth.
Ac mae’r rhai a deithiodd wedi gweld tri perfformiad gwerth chweil . Bydd yr hogiau yn ôl ar y Traeth pnawn Sadwrn ar gyfer ymweliad Bwcle, ac yn haeddu’r gefnogaeth orau posib.
Ychwanegodd Phil, “Mae’r neges yn amlwg cefnogwch yr hogiau. Da ni ar rhediad o 7 gêm yn ddiguro ond roedd PUMP o’r gemau yma oddi cartref! Mae gan y clwb grwp o chwaraewyr ymroddedig a ffyddlon sydd yn rhoi o’u gorau dros y clwb a’r rheolwr. Rhaid i bawb fynd tu ôl i’r chwaraewyr, peidio gwrando ar y cwynwrs, mae’r canlyniadau’n dod.”

The wonderful atmosphere the Pathfinders helped to create on Saturday at the Belle Vue has not been lost on the players themselves. Chairman Phil Jones, who doubles up as the club’s mini bus driver, said, “The main topic of discussion on the homeward journey from Rhyl was the backing received from the young supporters behind the goal.”
Dan Pyrs, speaking for all the players, said “These young supporters have no idea how much it means to the players being supported like this, the singing, the shouting of support really gets through to us on the pitch. It lifts us and gives that extra impetus. We all really appreciate these young people travelling such a long way to support us.”
The club is really indebted to their far flung supporters who are prepared to travel so far to show their support. In addition to supporters from Teeside there was Angela, taking a break from her duties at FAW Headquarters, to travel up from Cardiff and meet up with her friends Dave and Angela from the Midlands. As in every away match there was a strong representation of Traeth regulars.
Those who have travelled have seen three top class performances. They return to action at the Traeth on Saturday for the visit of Buckley and deserve the highest praise and the full backing of the home supporters.
Phil Jones added, “The message is clear; the backing of supporters has a positive effect. We are on an unbeaten run of 7 games but FIVE of these have been on the road! The club has a committed, loyal group of players who want to play for the club and their manager. We all have to get behind the lads; ignore the whiners for the results are coming.”

Aaron Richmond yn gadael Port / Aaron Richmond leaves Port

Aaron Richmond Mae’r asgellwr Aaron Richmond wedi gadael y clwb i ymuno â Glantraeth o’r Welsh Alliance. Dywedodd Gareth Parry,” Rwy’n siomedig iawn i golli Aaron gan ei fod efo agwedd grêt at bêl-droed a phob tro wedi rhoi ei orau i’r clwb.”
Ymunodd â Port o Llangefni yn Hydref 2011. Y tymor hwn dechreuodd 6 gêm i Port gan hefyd ddod i’r cae 5 gwaith fel eilydd a sgoriodd ddwy gôl. Mae’r clwb yn diolch i Aaron am ei wasanaeth ac yn dymuno’n dda iddo gyda’i glwb newydd.

Aaron Richmond has left the club to join Welsh Alliance club Glantraeth. Manager Gareth Parry said of the young winger, “I am very disappointed to lose Aaron as he shows a great attitude to the game and has always given of his best for the club.”
Aaron joined Port from Llangefni in October 2011. This season he has made 6 starts as well as making 5 substitute appearances and scoring twice. The club thanks Aaron for his efforts and wishes him well in the future.

Da eich gweld a’ch CLYWED / Great to see you and HEAR you

Pathfinders Ychwanegodd presenoldeb ein cefnogwyr arbennig o’r gwersyll haf yn Cricieth llawer at yr achlysur ar y Belle Vue ddydd Sadwrn.
Ar y fforwm mae Daniel Cruz o Oldham yn dweud “Yn yr haf mae fy mhlant yn ymweld â Porthmadog yn rhan o’u gwersyll haf ac roedd yn bleser i drefnu taith oddi cartref i’r Rhyl ddydd Sadwrn i gefnogi’r hogiau. Daeth pump draw o Middlesborough ar y trên felly cawsom aduniad da!”
Roedd ein cyfeillion yn y Rhyl hefyd yn gwerthfawrogi’r gefnogaeth gan eu bod fel Port yn mwynhau ychydig o hwyl a sbri. Mae’r math yna o gefnogaeth yn ysbrydoli tîm sydd hefyd wedi dangos ymroddiad arbennig. Diolch i’r cefnogwyr yma am eu gweiddi a chanu di-baid ac roedd hyn yn amlwg yn cael effaith dda ar y tîm ar y cae.
Mae Daniel yn gorffen ei bost ar y fforwm gyda’r geiriau caredig yma, “Rwy’n dilyn Oldham Athletic ac mae gan chwaraewyr Oldham rhywbeth i’w ddysgu o’r ysbryd a ddangosodd eich chwaraewyr ddydd Sadwrn. Da iawn Port.

The presence of our wonderful supporters from the summer camp at Cricieth added so much to the occasion at the Belle Vue on Saturday.
Daniel Cruz from Oldham postdon the forum “My children visit Porthmadog in August as part of a camp and it was great to organise an away trip to Rhyl on Saturday to watch the lads. Five even came down from Middlesbrough on the train so it was a good mini reunion!“
The support at the Belle Vue impressed our friends at Rhyl, as they like us enjoy a bit of banter and partisanship. That kind of support lifts players who in a difficult period have shown wonderful commitment. Thanks to all of you for your tremendous non-stop very vocal support and it was quite clear to all the positive effect it had on the team on the pitch.
Daniel ends his contribution on the forum with these kind words “I watch Oldham Athletic at home and Oldham players could have learned something from the spirit you played with on Saturday. Well done Port.”

Carl yn ôl! / Carl’s back!

Carl Owen Yn yr 87fed munud ar y Belle Vue pnawn Sadwrn codwyd rhif Carl Owen gan ddod ac absenoldeb gorfodol 16 mis i ben. Roedd y digwyddiad yn ddigon pwysig i fynd â sylw pawb o’r gêm safonol iawn rhwng Rhyl a Port. Mwy fyth o bleser i bawb o Port oedd gweld Carl yn camu’n syth i’r gêm gan gyfnewid cyfres o basys i lawr yr asgell chwith.
Yn dilyn y gêm bu Carl yn trydar gan ddweud, “Teimlad da i fod yn ôl gan gael y gêm gyntaf o’r ffordd wedi 16 mis allan! Canlyniad da hefyd!!!”
Torrodd Carl ei goes yn ddifrifol mewn gêm gyfeillgar cyn dymor yn erbyn Caergybi yn Awst 2011. Croeso ’nol Carl!

In the 87th minute at the Belle Vue on Saturday Carl Owen’s number went up, bringing with it the end of a 16 month enforced exile. It was an event which almost upstaged the exciting top quality game we had witnessed. Even more delight for the travelling support as Carl stepped straight into the game exchanging a quick one-two down the left wing.
Afterwards Carl tweeted, “Felt good to get my first game out the way after 16 months out! Decent result as well!!!”
Carl suffered a serious leg fracture in a pre season fixture at Holyhead in August 2011. Welcome back Carl!

Port a’r Rhyl yn gyfartal / Port hold Rhyl

Y Rhyl Roedd y pwynt a enillwyd yn y Rhyl ddydd Sadwrn yn ddigon, gan fod gêm Bwcle wedi’i gohirio, i godi Port un safle i’r 7fed lle. Mae’r chwaraewyr a’r rheolwr yn haeddu’r canmoliaeth uchaf am y safon a’r ymroddiad a ddangoswyd, yn arbennig wrth chwarae tair gêm anodd oddi cartref a hynny’n olynol.
Nid mater hawdd fyddai enwi un neu ddau o unigolion mewn perfformiad tîm mor arbennig. O gofio’r math o dymor a gafwyd gan glwb y Belle Vue eleni ychydig oedd yn rhoi gobaith i Port gipio unrhyw beth o’r gêm. Ond gwahanol iawn oedd y cyfan a gallai’r canlyniad fod wedi mynd un ffordd neu’r llall sy’n golygu mae’n debyg fod canlyniad cyfartal yn deg. Cyfrannodd y ddau dîm yn wych i gêm werth chweil. Roedd pasio Port yn yr hanner cyntaf a’u gallu i gadw’r bêl yn arbennig tra roedd penderfyniad Rhyl i fynd am y tri phwynt gyda 10 dyn yn yr ail hanner yn creu cystadleuaeth wych.
Dyma’r tro cyntaf i’r Rhyl fethu gipio pwyntiau llawn ar y Belle Vue y tymor hwn ac mae rhediad diguro Port yn ymestyn i 7 gêm. Mae adroddiad llawn o’r gêm i’w weld yn yr adran adroddiadau.

Saturday’s hard fought point at Rhyl is enough, with Buckley’s game being postponed, to lift Port one more place in the table to 7th. The players and the manager deserve the highest praise for the quality and commitment shown especially in the run of three very difficult away games.
It is not easy to single out individual performances at Rhyl as it was such a great team performance. Given Rhyl’s run this season, sweeping all before them, few gave Port much of a chance of getting anything from the game. In the event, the result could have gone either way which probably means that a draw was a fair conclusion to a game in which both sides contributed handsomely. Port’s passing and ball retention in the first half was a pleasure to watch while Rhyl’s search for all three points, despite being down to 10 men, made the game a great contest.
This is the first time Rhyl have dropped points at the Belle Vue this season and Port’s unbeaten run in the league extends to 7 games. A full match report can be found in the reports section.
