Rhagolwg: Cei Conna / Preview: Connah’s Quay

Cei Conna / Connah's QuayYn dilyn buddugoliaeth yn y lle mwyaf annisgwyl, bydd yn rhaid i Borthmadog geisio efelychu’r perfformiad arbennig yn Llanelli a dechrau codi pwyntiau yn erbyn clybiau sydd hefyd yn rhan isaf y tabl –a dydy hynny ddim yn beth sydd wedi bod yn digwydd yn rhy aml yn y gorffennol. Yn Llanelli, cawsom ychydig o’r lwc yna sydd angen ar bob clwb. Ar ôl dweud hynny, rhaid cofio, heblaw am y ddwy gôl ag elfen fawr o lwc yn perthyn iddynt, colli i gôl hwyr fyddai hanes Port wedi bod unwaith eto. Mae’n rhaid sicrhau goliau ar ôl rhoi pwysau ar y gwrthwynebwyr am gyfnod –troi pwysau yn goliau. Nid yw Cei Conna wedi bod ar eu gorau yn ystod yr wythnosau diwethaf ac wedi ennill ond un gêm allan o’u pum gêm olaf a hynny’n cynnwys colli adref o 7-0 yn erbyn Bangor. Ar y llaw arall, maent wedi llwyddo i roi TNS allan o Gwpan Cymru ac maent naw o bwyntiau ar y blaen i Port.

Having gained a victory in the most unexpected of places, Porthmadog must now look to repeat the kind of performance shown at Llanelli and start picking up points against other clubs in the lower half of the table –not something they have been particularly successful at in the past. At Llanelli, we got that little bit of luck so badly lacking this season. It is worth bearing in mind though that but for the two goals, which enjoyed an element of luck, we would have gone down once more to a late goal. Our problem remains our failure to capitalise on periods of pressure by putting the ball in the net. Connah’s Quay have not shown the best of form in recent weeks winning only one of their last five games including a 7-0 defeat on their own ground when Bangor City were the visitors. On the other hand, they recorded a notable victory over TNS in the Welsh Cup and are fairly comfortably placed nine points ahead of Porthmadog.

Gwaharddiad am un gêm i John / One match suspension for John

John Gwynfor JonesMae John Gwynfor Jones wedi ei wahardd am un gêm yn dilyn y cerdyn coch a dderbyniodd am lawio’r bêl yn y gêm yn erbyn Port Talbot ddydd Sadwrn. Golyga hyn y bydd ar gael i’r gêm yn erbyn Cei Conna. Bydd Paul Roberts ar gael unwaith eto ar gyfer y gêm yn Llanelli. Collodd y gêm ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf ar ôl cyrraedd pump o gardiau melyn.

John Gwynfor Jones has been handed a one match suspension following his sending off for a handball offence in last Saturday’s game against Port Talbot. This means he will be available for the game at Connah’s Quay. Paul Roberts, who missed that game, having reached five yellow cards, is available again for the game at Llanelli.

Problemau yn y gôl i Lanelli / Llanelli face keeper headache

LlanelliAr ôl i’w gôl-geidwad, Ryan Harrison, gael ei ddanfon o’r maes yn erbyn Hwlffordd dydd Sadwrn, mae gan Llanelli – gwrthwynebwyr nesaf Port – broblemau mawr yn y safle hwnnw. Yn y gôl ddydd Sul nesaf fydd Craig Richards – chwaraewr 16 oed sydd yn 3ydd dewis i’r tîm sydd ar frig y gynghrair. Bydd Viv Williams yn gobeithio y bydd hyn yn rhywfaint o gymorth wrth i Port chwarae yn erbyn tîm sydd wedi sgorio 17 gôl yn eu tair gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf!
Mae gan Port hefyd broblem gyda gwaharddiad ar ôl i John Gwynfor gael ei ddanfon o’r maes yn erbyn Port Talbot. Newyddion gwell i Viv fydd dychweliad Paul Roberts – hefyd ar ôl gwaharddiad.

Following the sending off of their goal keeper, Ryan Harrison, against Haverfordwest on Satruday, Llanelli – Port’s next opponents – face selection problems for that position. Craig Richards – a 16 year old who is 3rd choice at Stebonheath – will line up in goal for the game on Sunday. Viv Williams will hope that Llanelli’s problems will provide Port with a glimmer of hope as they face a team who have scored 17 goals in their last three league games!
Port also have some selection problems with John Gwynfor suspended following his sending off against Port Talbot. Better news for Viv is that Paul Roberts returns to the team following a one match suspension.

Sagar wedi gadael / Sagar moves on

Joe SagarMae Joe Sagar wedi symud yn ôl i Mossley yn dilyn cyfnod yn cynorthwyo Porthmadog. Chwaraeodd y golwr ifanc bum gwaith i’r clwb yn UGC yn ogystal â phedwar ymddangosiad mewn gêmau cwpan yn ystod cyfnod hir Richard Harvey allan o’r tîm oherwydd anaf. Gwnaeth y clwb ymdrechion i gadw’r chwaraewr tan fydd y ffenest drosglwyddo yn ail agor ym mis Ionawr ond roedd Joe yn awyddus i ddychwelyd i’w gyn glwb ac mae’n gadel Porthmadog mewn sefyllfa fregus pe byddai Richard Harvey yn cael ei anafu eto.

Joe Sagar has moved back to Mossley after a period helping out Porthmadog. The eighteen year old goalkeeper made five WPL appearances together with four Cup appearances during Richard Harvey’s lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury. The club did make efforts to retain Joe until the transfer window re-opens in January but he was keen to return and this leaves Porthmadog in a vulnerable situation should Richard Harvey pick up another injury.

Digwyddiad gwrth-hiliol yn llwyddiant / Anti-racist event a success

Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth / Show Racism the Red CardRoedd y digwyddiad gwrth-hiliol, a gynhaliwyd ar Y Traeth yn ystod yr wythnos ddiwethaf, yn llwyddiant mawr. Daeth mwy na 70 o blant Ysgol Eifion Wyn ac Ysgol y Gorlan i’r digwyddiad a drefnwyd gan y mudiad “ Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth.” Dangoswyd DVD arbennig i’r plant a hefyd cynhaliwyd sesiwn o Holi ac Ateb ar hiliaeth. Dywedodd rheolwr y clwb Viv Williams yn dilyn y cyfarfod “Roedd yr holi gan y plant, i banel a oedd yn cynnwys Osian Roberts, Phil Jones, Sunil Patel a mi, yn arbennig o dda. Recordiwyd y digwyddiad gan griw camera ‘Sgorio’. Yn dilyn y digwyddiad llwyddiannus, dywedodd Sunil Patel, Cydlynydd y Project yng Nghymru, “Rydym yn hapus iawn i fwrw ’mlaen gyda’r rhaglen o ddigwyddiadau drwy Gymru gan ddiolch am y gefnogaeth arbennig i’r ymgyrch a gawsom gan CPD Porthmadog yn ystod y flwyddyn ddiwethaf”

The anti-racist event held at the Traeth last week proved to be extremely successful. The event, attended by over 70 pupils of Ysgol Eifion Wyn and Ysgol y Gorlan, was arranged by the “Show Racism the Red Card” organisation. A special DVD was shown and there was also a Question and Answer session on racism. Club manager Viv Williams remarked afterwards, “The children provided the panel, which included Osian Roberts, Phil Jones, Sunil Patel and myself, with some excellent questions.” A ‘Sgorio’ camera crew was present to record the session. Following the successful event Sunil Patel, Welsh Project co-ordinator, commented “We are extremely pleased to continue our programme of events around Wales and Porthmadog FC have given great support to our campaign over the past year.”

Alan Bickerstaff i helpu Viv / Alan Bickerstaff to help Viv

Alan Bickerstaff © welsh-premier.com Ers dychwelyd i’r clwb, bu Viv yn gweithio ar ei ben ei hun ond rŵan mae am symud i apwyntio hyfforddwr. Mae wedi gofyn i Alan Bickerstaff ei gynorthwyo fel hyfforddwr. Gadawodd Alan Bickerstaff Airbus am fod ganddo alwadau gwaith ychwanegol fel Swyddog Datblygu i Ymddiriedolaeth y Gymdeithas Bêl droed yn Sir Ddinbych. Dywedodd Viv “ Mae wedi cytuno i helpu allan o bryd i’w gilydd fel mae ei lwyth gwaith yn caniatáu .” Ychwanegodd Viv, “Rwy’n ddiolchgar i Alan, a bydd yn dda i gael help hyfforddwr profiadol i dynnu ychydig o’r pwysau oddi arnaf.”
Mae cyn chwaraewr Y Rhyl wedi cynorthwyo Gareth Owen yn Airbus Brychdyn ers Mehefin 2005 ac mae’n ddeilydd bathodyn hyfforddi ‘A’ UEFA.

Viv Williams has worked on his own since returning to manage the club. But he has now asked Alan Bickerstaff to assist him in a coaching capacity. Alan Bickerstaff left Airbus recently due to an increasing workload in his duties for the FAW Trust as Development Officer in Denbighshire. However Viv Williams says “Alan has agreed to help out from time to time as his work load allows him.” He added “I am grateful to Alan, having the help of such an experienced coach will take some of the pressure off my shoulders.”
A former player with Rhyl FC, he has assisted Gareth Owen at Airbus Broughton since June 2005 and holds a UEFA ‘A’ coaching badge.

Edrych ymlaen at gêm Port Talbot / Looking forward to the Port Talbot mach

Paul RobertsEr i ni golli o 7-2 yn erbyn Port Talbot yn y Premier Cup yn gynharach yn y tymor, bydd Viv yn gobeithio elwa ar rediad siomedig Talbot yn ddiweddar, yn enwedig eu cweir o 8-0 yn erbyn Llanelli. Er hynny, bydd eu chwaraewyr yn awyddus i blesio eu rheolwr dros dro, Paul Ried, fydd yn cymryd drosodd bnawn Sadwrn yn dilyn ymddiswyddiad Tony Pennock yn ystod yr wythnos. Wrth gymryd y llyw, dywedodd Viv y byddai’n cymryd mis i godi ffitrwydd y garfan i’r lefel angenrheidiol, ac mae’r mis hwnnw ar ben rwan! Un ergyd fawr i obeithion Porthmadog ddydd Sadwrn yw gwaharddiad Paul Roberts ar ôl derbyn 4 cerdyn melyn yn y gynghrair. Bydd y tîm yn sicr o fethu Paul, sydd wedi rhwydo 8 gôl er gwaethaf y dechrau siomedig. Mae’r perfformiadau wedi gwella, ond mae’n amser i ddechrau codi pwyntiau rwan!

Despite losing 7-2 against Port Talbot in the Premier Cup earlier in the season, Viv will hope to capitalize on Talbot’s recent disappointing run, especially their 8-0 thrashing at the hands of Llanelli. However, their players will be keen to impress their caretaker manager, Paul Ried, who takes over on Saturday following the resignation of Tony Pennock earlier in the week. When he took charge, Viv said it would take a month to raise the squad’s fitness to the necessary level, and that month has now expired! One big blow to Porthmadog’s chances on Saturday is Paul Roberts’ suspension after picking up 4 yellow cards in the league this season. The team is sure to miss Paul, who has netted 8 times despite the disappointing start. We’ve seen our performances improve; it’s now time to start delivering the goods!

Bydd y digwyddiad gwrth-hiliaeth, a gaiff ei gynnal a’i gefnogi gan CPD Porthmadog yn digwydd dydd Iau 8fed Tachwedd am 14:00. Bydd disgyblion ysgolion Eifion Wyn a’r Gorlan yn cymryd rhan.
Dywedodd Sunil Patel, Cydlynydd Cymreig y Prosiect: “Mae ‘Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth’ yn falch iawn i gael parhau ein ymgyrch addysgiadol ar hyd a lled Cymru. Mae CPD Porthmadog wedi rhoi cefnogaeth wych i’r ymgyrch yn ystod y flwyddyn ddiwethaf ac rydym yn edrych ymlaen at ddigwyddiad cofiadwy.”
Mae ‘Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth’ wedi ei sefydlu ers 11 mlynedd. Mae’r mudiad yn gobeithio defnyddio enwogrwydd chwaraewyr pêl-droed proffesiynol ar gyfer ymladd hiliaeth mewn cymdeithas. Rydym yn defnyddio peldroedwyr fel esiampl gwrth-hiliol yn ein deunydd addysgiadol ac wedi cael ein canmol hyd a lled Ewrop.”
Byd ‘Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth’ yn dosbarthu nwyddau am ddim – posteri, sticeri a chylchgronau – i bawb sy’n mynychu’r digwyddiad.

Dangoswch y Cerdyn Coch i Hiliaeth / Show Racism the Red Card‘Show Racism the Red Card’ have announced that Y Traeth will host a screening of their DVD as well as a Question and Answer session on racism, featuring Club representatives. Defnyddiwyd chwaraewr wedi'i wahardd yn erbyn Port / Suspended player used agianst Port

Gareth Phillips [o/from welsh-premier.com]Mae gwrthwynebwyr nesaf Port - Port Talbot - wedi derbyn dirwy o £500 gan y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed am chwarae chwaraewr oedd wedi ei wahardd yn eu buddugoliaeth o 7-2 yn erbyn Porthmadog yn y Premier Cup yn gynharach y tymor hwn. Roedd Gareth Phillips wedi cael ei wahardd am dderbyn dau gerdyn melyn yn y gystadleuaeth yn ôl yn 2004! Mae cardiau yn y Premier Cup yn cael eu hystyried ar wahân i’r Gynghrair.

Gareth Phillips had been banned after picking up two yellow cards in the competition back in 2004! Cards picked up in the Premier Cup are considered separately to those received in league matches.

Yr Ail Dîm ym Mis Hydref / Reserves October Round-up

Roedd mis Hydref yn un distaw i’r ail dîm. Oherwydd problemau cofrestru’r myfyrwyr, gohiriwyd gêmau yn erbyn Prifysgol Bangor. Chwaraewyd y gêm o’r diwedd ar 30 Hydref gyda Port yn fuddugol o 3-1. Dyma’r unig gêm gynghrair a chwaraewyd yn ystod y mis. Chwaraewyd Rownd 1af Tarian Eryri –y gystadleuaeth a enillwyd gan yr Ail Dîm y tymor diwethaf. Y gwrthwynebwyr oedd y cymdogion Llanystumdwy. Aeth y gêm i amser ychwanegol gyda Idan Williams yn sgorio i sicrhau’r fuddugoliaeth i Lanystumdwy. Aeth Llanystumdwy ymlaen yn yr hanner cyntaf diolch i gôl gan Meirion Pritchard ond aeth gôl Adrian Jones, pedair munud o’r diwedd, a’r gêm i amser ychwanegol.

October was a month of relative inactivity for the reserves. Due to registration problems for the students, games against Bangor University had to be called off. Eventually the game was played on October 30th with Port running out winners by 3-1. This was the only league fixture completed during the month. The only other game played was in the Eryri Shield 1st Round. Port Reserves won this competition last season but this time went out to neighbours Llanystumdwy in a contest that went to extra time. Idan Williams’ goal won it for Llanystumdwy. Llanystumdwy went ahead in the opening half through Meirion Pritchard but Adrian Jones’s goal four minutes from time took the game into extra time.

Clubhouse   Clubhouse

Porthmadog FC’s new clubhouse is already proving to be an ideal venue for parties and special occasions. The ample space and warm atmosphere it can provide is already proving to be popular with those who have used it for their celebrations and events. It has been booked for parties, works courses and social events and those who have used the facility have been lavish in their praise. As well as the facility itself, there is also plenty of convenient parking which many find a bonus. A grant from the Welsh Premier League helped to provide toilet facilities and hard standing and also a loan from the Co-operative Loan Fund has enabled the club to proceed and build the Clubhouse. The intention is to provide a facility for the local area with the club also organising a programme of events such as quizzes, darts tournaments, jazz, folk and country music evenings. Already a Monday Bingo Night has started and the early signs suggest that it will be well supported.
Celebrating a special occasion? Having a Christmas Party? Contact Gerallt Owen on 079200 25338 to see if the clubhouse is available.

Adam Docker / Adam KarimNid oedd Adam Docker yng ngharfan Pacistan a gollodd o 7-0 yng y cymal cyntaf o gêmau rhagbrofol Cwpan y Byd 2010 yn erbyn Irac ond roedd ar y fainc ar gyfer yr ail gymal (o dan yr enw Adam Karim) a chwaraewyd yn Aleppo, Syria ddoe (28 Hydref). Cafodd Pacistan well hwyl yn yr ail gêm gan ddal Irac i gêm gyfartal ddi-sgôr. Gellir gweld manylion pellach yn www.fifa.com.

Pakistan fared better in this game holding their opponents to a goal less draw. Details of the matches can be found at www.fifa.com.

Adam Docker a Phacistan yn colli'n drwm / Adam Docker’s Pakistan suffer heavy defeat.

PakistanYchydig o lwc a gafodd Adam Docker a gweddill carfan Pacistan yng nghymal cyntaf rownd rhagbrofol Cwpan y Byd yn Lahore. Collwyd y gêm yn erbyn Irac, deiliaid Cwpan Asia 2007, a hynny o 7-0 gyda seren Irac, Mahdi Karim, yn sgorio pedair gôl.. There was little luck for Adam Docker and the Pakistan squad in their World Cup qualifier in Lahore against the 2007 Asian Cup holders, Iraq. They went down by 7-0 with Mahdi Karim netting four times for Iraq. There can now be little to look forward to in the second leg which will be played in Syria on October 28th.

Dyddiau prysur i Viv / A busy time for Viv

Viv WilliamsYn ei sylwadau yn y rhaglen ar gyfer ddydd Sadwrn, datgelodd y rheolwr dros dro Viv Williams ychydig o’i brofiadau ers ail gydio yn yr awenau.
“Profodd yn 10 diwrnod prysur tu hwnt ers i mi gytuno i ddychwelyd i’r clwb i helpu allan. Mae wedi bod yn un gyfres hir o alwadau ffôn at chwaraewyr, swyddogion y clwb a llawer un arall i weld pwy sydd ar gael i chwarae, i adrefnu gêm Caernarfon, i gadarnhau’r rheolau ynglyn â’r ffenest drosglwyddo ynghyd â llawer mwy o faterion. Cawsom dair gêm mewn wythnos ac mae hyn wedi ychwanegu at y teimlad fod pob dim yn symud yn hynod o gyflym. Ar ôl gweld y tîm yn chwarae, mae’n amlwg fod llawer o waith i’w wneud. Bydd rhaid gweithio ar lefelau ffitrwydd yr hogiau. Roedd hwn yn fater a gafodd lawer o sylw drwy gydol fy nghyfnod blaenorol gyda’r clwb ac fydd yn cymryd mis i gael y safonau ffitrwydd i’r lefel sydd angen. Mae nifer o anafiadau yn dal i’n rhwystro ond pan ddaw pawb yn ôl fe wnaiff pethau wella. Y sioc fwyaf wrth ddod yn ôl ydy methu arwyddo neb! Gyda’r ffenest drosglwyddo wedi cau a’r rheol un chwaraewr un clwb, bydd yn rhaid gweithio gyda’r hyn sydd yma. Yn ffodus bydd yn rhaid i bawb gadw at y rheolau ac mae nifer o glybiau eraill hefyd yn ei chael yn anodd. Mae’n anoddach fyth wrth ddod i mewn yn hwyr a phan nad oeddech chi yma pan arwyddwyd y chwaraewyr.”

In his ‘View from the Bench’ in Saturday’s Match Programme, caretaker manager Viv Williams revealed what it has been like since his return.
“It has proved to be a very hectic 10 days since I agreed to return to the club to help out. It has been a seemingly never ending series of phone calls to players, club officials and others to check availability, rearrange the Caernarfon game, check the new transfer window rules and much, much more. We have had three games in a week which has added to the sense of everything moving at a tremendous pace. Having now seen the team play, there is a lot to do. We need to work on players’ fitness levels. This was always a major factor throughout my previous period with the club and it will take a month to get fitness to the necessary level. We are still dogged by a few injuries which are hampering us and hopefully, when these clear up and everyone is fully fit, then things will improve. However the biggest shock since coming back is not being able to sign anyone! With the transfer window closed and the one player one club rule, we have to work with what we have. Fortunately everyone has to play by the same rules and a number of other clubs are also finding it hard. It is even harder when you have to come in half way through and weren’t involved when the signings were made.”

Ar brawf gyda MK Dons / Trial with MK Dons

Kyle JacobsYn ystod yr wythnos ,bu Kyle Jacobs, amddiffynnwr Porthmadog, ar brawf gyda chlwb MK Dons, clwb sydd ar ben Adran 2 o Gynghrair Lloegr. Yn anffodus, cafodd y chwaraewr 21 oed anaf yn ystod y gêm a dyna’r rheswm nad oedd ar gael i chwarae yn Llangefni neithiwr (nos Fercher). Cyn i’r tymor ddechrau, bu Kyle ar brawf gyda Rotherham, clwb arall yn Adran 2 o Gynghrair Lloger. Ymunodd Kyle Jacobs â CPD Porthmadog fis yn ôl gan gynrychioli’r clwb chwech o weithiau hyd yma -y tro cyntaf yn erbyn Airbus Brychdyn.

During this week, Porthmadog defender, Kyle Jacobs, has appeared in a trial match with MK Dons the leading English League Two club. The 21 year old had the misfortune to suffer an injury during the game and subsequently also missed last night’s (Wednesday) League Cup tie at Llangefni. During pre-season, Kyle spent a period on trial with Rotherham United, another English League Two club. Kyle Jacobs joined Porthmadog a month ago making his debut against Airbus Broughton and has up to date made six appearances in defence and midfield for Porthmadog.

Cwpan y Gynghrair - Rhagolwg / League Cup - Preview

LlangefniBydd y gêm yng Nghwpan y Gynghrair ag arwyddocâd arbennig iddi yn dilyn y newidiadau oddi ar y cae ar Y Traeth. Llangefni yw’r ffefrynnau i fynd ymlaen i’r rownd nesaf ar ôl sicrhau chwe phwynt o ddwy fuddugoliaeth gan adael Caernarfon a Phorthmadog gyda un pwynt yr un. Dylai CPD Porthmadog deimlo rhyddhad mawr wrth i Viv Williams gytuno i gymryd ymlaen tasg anodd iawn dros dro. Edrychwn am ganlyniad i godi’r ysbryd nos yfory er mwyn rhoi hwb ar gyfer y gemau cynghrair anodd sydd i ddod. Eisoes mae bron i chwarter y gemau cynghrair wedi’u chwarae gyda gemau adref allweddol yn erbyn Castell Nedd, Caernarfon a Derwyddon Cefn wedi’u colli. Dylai Port fod wedi ennill pwyntiau o bob un o’r gemau hyn. Mae’n amlwg fod gan y chwaraewyr rheolwr maent yn eu barchu a bydd rhaid iddynt ddechrau codi pwyntiau yn fuan iawn mewn cynghrair sydd yn gynyddol anodd. Ar hyn o bryd, nid oes sicrwydd am ddyfodol y chwaraewyr a ddaeth gyda Clayton Blackmore dros y ffin ond beth sydd yn sicr yw na fydd yna ychwanegiadau at y garfan tan fis Ionawr. Bydd rhaid i’r garfan bresennol felly ddangos y penderfyniad angenrheidiol i ddod â ni allan o’r twll – gan ddechrau yn Llangefni.

The Llangefni League Cup tie takes on new significance in view of the off the field changes at the Traeth. Llangefni are firm favourites to proceed to the next stage of the League Cup after picking up six points from their two victories leaving Caernarfon and Porthmadog each with one point. Porthmadog FC should be very relieved that the highly respected Viv Williams is prepared to take on such a difficult task even on a temporary basis. They will look for a morale booster from tomorrow night’s game ahead of the WPL encounters to come. Already almost a quarter of the league programme has been played with key home matches against Neath, Caernarfon and Cefn Druids, which should have produced points, all being lost. The players have a manager in charge that they obviously respect but they will need to, very quickly, start picking up points in an increasingly difficult league. At the moment the position of the players brought in by Clayton Blackmore from over the border is not clear, but what is clear is that there can be no new signings until January. The current squad will have to show the commitment needed to get us out of this hole -starting at Llangefni.

Clayton Blackmore wedi’i ddiswyddo / Clayton Blackmore dismissed

Clayton BlackmoreMae Clayton Blackmore, cyn chwaraewr Cymru a Man Utd, wedi gadael Porthmadog ar ôl cael ei ddiswyddo heno. Nid yw wedi mwynhau y canlyniadau gorau ers cymryd drosodd fel rheolwr yn dilyn ymadawiad Osian Roberts ym Mehefin 2007. Mae’r record yn y Gynghrair o ennill ond un a cholli saith gêm yn ogystal â mynd allan yn gynnar o’r Cwpan Cenedlaethol a Chwpan Cymru wedi perswadio’r bwrdd i ddiswyddo’r rheolwr. Roeddynt yn teimlo bod yn rhaid gweithredu rŵan os yw’r clwb i ddod allan o’r rhediad gwael sydd yn peryglu dyfodol y clwb yn UGC. Dywedodd cadeirydd y clwb, Phil Jones, “Ar lefel bersonol roedd y penderfyniad hwn yn un anodd iawn i weithredu gan fod Clayton Blackmore yn ŵr bonheddig ac yn ddyn hawdd iawn i ymwneud â fo. Dymuna’r clwb osod ar record eu gwerthfawrogiad o ymdrechion Clayton dros y clwb fel rheolwr a hefyd fel chwaraewr.”
Gan edrych at y dyfodol, mae bwrdd CPD Porthmadog wedi gofyn i’w cyn rheolwr Viv Williams gymryd yr awenau dros dro. Bydd hyn yn rhoi cyfle ac amser i’r Clwb ystyried y ffordd orau ymlaen gan wybod bod yna ddwylo profiadol wrth y llyw. Bydd cefnogwyr yn cofio mae’n siŵr i Viv arwain y clwb ar rediad di guro o saith gêm y tro diwethaf y cymrodd yr awenau dros dro.

Viv WilliamsClayton Blackmore and Porthmadog FC are to part company. The former Manchester United and Wales player has not enjoyed the best of times since taking over from Osian Roberts as manager in June 2007. The record of only one win and 7 defeats in the WPL, together with early dismissals from the Premier Cup and the Welsh Cup brought matters to a head and the Porthmadog board have responded by dismissing their manager. They felt that action had to be taken sooner rather than later if the club were to get out of this downward spiral. Club chairman Phil Jones said, “This was a very difficult decision to carry out, for on a personal level Clayton Blackmore was the easiest of persons to get along with and a gentleman. The club would like to place on record their thanks for his efforts on behalf of the club both as manager and player.”
Looking to the future, the Porthmadog FC board have asked former manager Viv Williams to take over the reins on a temporary basis. This will give the club a breathing space knowing that they have a safe pair of hands at the wheel while they consider the best way forward. Supporters will no doubt recall that the last time Viv took over in a temporary role the team went on an unbeaten run of seven games.
