Trwyddedu Clybiau 2021/22 / Club Licensing 2020/21

CBDC / FAW Mae’n amser o’r flwyddyn yna eto ac, er waetha’r diffyg pêl-droed yn 2020/2021, rhaid i glybiau ymgeisio am drwydded ar gyfer 2021/22.
Yn ogystal a cheisio am drwydded Haen 3 bydd Port yn un o 24 o glybiau Haen 3 fydd yn ymgeisio am drwydded Haen 2. Am flwyddyn yn unig mae clybiau yn derbyn trwydded ac i gadw’r statws rhaid ail ymgeisio yn flynyddol. Oherwydd y pandemig COVID-19 ac, er mwyn lleihau’r pwysau ar glybiau heblaw am un neu ddau o newidiadau admin, bydd y criteria yn aros yr un fath.

Bydd Panel Apêl yn dyfarnu ar unrhyw apêl ysgrifenedig.

It is that time of year again and despite the lack of football in season 2020/21, clubs are now seeking their licenses for 2021/22.
In addition to making a Tier 3 application, Port will be one of 24 Tier 3 clubs applying for a Tier 2 Licence. A Licence is granted on an annual basis. To maintain their status at their level of the Pyramid, clubs must re-apply annually.
Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, to ease the burden on clubs, the vast majority of the licensing criteria has remained unchanged apart for some minor administrative updates.
Six Panels, made up of independent experts, meet to assess each club’s application.
The First Instance Bodies decide on whether a Licence should be granted to an applicant club.
The Appeals Bodies decide on appeals submitted in writing and make a final decision.

Colli Meirion / Passing of a club stalwart

Meirion Parry Gyda thristwch mawr, derbyniodd y clwb y newyddion am golli Meirion Parry yn 67 oed.
Gwasanaethodd y clwb mewn amrywiol ffyrdd dros y blynyddoedd â ‘run dasg yn rhy fawr nag yn rhy fach iddo wneud dros y clwb roedd yn ei garu ac a gefnogodd drwy gydol ei oes. Am lawer o flynyddoedd, bu yn gwbl ddibynadwy fel ysgrifennydd gêmau, a hefyd yn ddyn cit arbennig, yn golchi ac yn paratoi’r cit o wythnos i wythnos, y math o weithgareddau tawel sydd eu hangen ar bob clwb.
Roedd yn wyneb mor gyfarwydd ar Y Traeth tan i’w iechyd ddirywio yn ddiweddar. Yn nyddiau’r clwb yn yr Uwch Gynghrair, roedd Meirion yn ffigwr amlwg yn cymryd gofal o’r teithiau bws i’r de a bob amser yn flaenllaw ym mhob tynnu coes a hwyl a oedd yn rhan fawr o bob taith.
Ar yr amser anodd yma, mae ein meddyliau gyda Rhian a gyda Carwyn a Dilwyn ac Annwen. Mae’r teulu i gyd wedi gwneud cyfraniad enfawr i’r clwb ac estynnwn ein cydymdeimlad llwyraf â hwy.

It was with great sorrow that the news was received of the passing of Meirion Parry at the age of 67 years. Meirion has been a Traeth institution over many, many years and has been one of a small band of dedicated workers without whom a club like Port could not function.
He has served the club in many different capacities over the years, with no task too big or too small for him to contribute in the service of the club he loved and supported throughout his life. For many years, he was the club’s highly reliable and effecient match secretary, while also a dedicated kit man, washing and preparing the kit week in and week out, the kind of behind the scenes service that every club relies upon.
He was always a regular face at the Traeth until bad health restricted this. In Welsh Premier days, he was a familiar figure taking charge of the long coach journeys to the south and always to the fore with any leg pulling and banter that were part and parcel of those journeys.
Our thoughts at this sad time are with Rhian and with Carwyn, Dilwyn and Annwen They, like Meirion, have been huge contributors to the club and we extend our sincere sympathy to them at this most difficult time.

DIOLCH I’R CYNGOR TREF / THANKS TO TOWN COUNCIL

Hoffai swyddogion y clwb ddiolch o galon i Gyngor Tref Porthmadog am eu cyfraniad hael o £5,000 tuag at y clwb. Cyfraniad gwych Ceri James / The club salutes Ceri James

Bydd penderfyniad Ceri yn gadael enfawr o dwll ar y Traeth (na dim y math yna o dwll!). Mae ei gysylltiad gyda Port yn ymestyn yn ôl at dymor 2009/10 pan ddaeth Tomi Morgan â fo i’r clwb i chwarae yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymeu_
Wedyn. yn dilyn cyfnod llwyddianus gyda Melville United yn Seland Newydd, dychwelodd i’r Traeth gan dreulio 8 tymor arall yma. Yn ystod y cyfnod chwaraeoedd 183(+35) o gêmau i’r clwb.
Ym mhob ystyr o’r gair roedd yn ‘ddyn mawr’ ond yn sicr synnodd llawer gwrthwynebydd gyda’i gyffyrddiadau medrus a’i rheolaeth sicr. Bob amser roedd yn bresenoldeb pwyllog, ac yn arweinydd gyda’r ddawn i reoli canol cae ar ei ben ei hun. Gallai newid cwrs gêm, a gwnaeth hyn yn aml wrth ddod ymlaen o’r fainc. Meistr y bas drwodd i’r blaenwyr, gallai agor amddiffyn gydag un pêl gelfydd. Roedd ei feddwl chwim a’i allu i ddarllen y gêm yn gwneud cyflymder dros y cae braidd yn ddibwys.
Yn y tymhorau diweddar chwaraeodd yn aml yng nghanol yr amddiffyn a gwelwyd yr un dylanwad a phresenoldeb bwyllog, bob amser yn defnyddio’i brofiad er lles y tîm.
Jocyr oddi ar y cae ond arno bob amser o ddifri go-iawn
Mae’r ymateb a welwyd ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol yn dilyn penderfyniad Ceri yn dweud y cyfan; ymateb wrth ei gyd chwaraewyr, y gwrthwynebwyr,y cefnogwyr neu ddilynwyr cyffredunol y bêl gron yn adlewyrchu y parch sydd iddo, ac yn amlwg i bawb.
Diolch Ceri am rhoi o dy dalent wythnos ar ôl wythnos, tybed pryd eto gwelwn ei debyg ar Y Traeth.

Ceri’s decision will leave a huge void at the Traeth His connection with the club stretches back to season 2009/10 when he first appeared for the club in the Welsh Premier under Tomi Morgan.
A successful time followed with Melville United in New Zealand before returning to the Traeth and playing a further 8 seasons here. Over those years he made a total of 183 (+35) appearances.
Although a ‘big man’ in every sense of the word, he probably surprised and caught out many with his deft touches and close control.Always a calm, commanding presence, he could run a midfield single handed and could change the course of a game as he often did when coming on from the bench. A master of the through ball, he could open up an opposition with a single defence splitting pass. His speed of thought and reading of a game meant that speed over the ground was rarely an issue
In recent seasons he often played at centre back and the same calm presence and influence was apparent, always using his great experience to serve the club superbly well. Off the field a joker but on it seriously serious.
The response on social media to Ceri’s announcement tells us everything whether from teamates, opponents, supporters or football fans in general, the respect in which he is held within the game is clear for all to see.
Thanks Ceri for giving of your huge talent week in week out, when shall we see the like of this great entertainer again at the Traeth

Ceri James yn galw digon / Ceri James calls it a day

Wedi cyfnod hir o wasanaeth gwych i CPD Porthmadog mae Ceri James wedi penderfynu galw digon ar yrfa arbennig mewn pêl-droed.
Isod gwelir datganiad Ceri yn cyhoeddi ei benderfyniad

Ceri James has today announced his decision to call it a day on an outstanding career in football. Sad news but the Traeth faithful will be more than grateful that he decided to spend so many of those years at the Traeth.
Ceri has released this statement :

“It's been a very difficult decision to say its time to leave Porthmadog! It's very difficult to leave such a set up and club but I can not commit as much as a club like this deserves or an old man with a huge beer belly needs to either! “The past 10-11 years has been a real joy and privilege to be part of, and wish I could have done more or had the chance to get Port back to where they should be, but time continues without a thought!
“Thanks to all the club members who are brilliant at what they do, thanks to Tomi Morgan for bringing me here, thanks to Gareth Parry, and thanks to Paps for sticking with an overweight midfielder turned cb ( at least he was fatter than me) and big thanks to all the players for carrying me!
“And the final and most important thanks to the supporters who home or away turn up, and only expect you to try your best, to which I hope I didn't disappoint them”

Diolch Jamo

P. S thank god I won't have to hear Hywel shouting at me again ????

Diolch Ceri a phob lwc at y dyfodol / Thanks Ceri and best wishes for the future

Diolch Ceri / Thanks Ceri

Isod gweler ymateb Craig Papirnyk i benderfyniad Ceri i orffen ei yrfa ar Y Traeth.

Below is Craig Papirnyk’s response to Ceri’s decision to bring his career at the Traeth to an end.

Ceri has made the difficult decision and decided now is the time to leave Port. He has been a stalwart at the club for over 10 years and has always given 100% to the cause from day one.
But with the season not commencing and with age, and other commitments taking priority in his life, I completely understand his reasoning but I am still saddened by his announcement, his personality around the changing room will be sorely missed.
I first became a team mate with Ceri here at Port, I then became his manager and that in itself took some getting used to with his character ! But now I call him a close friend and one I will always have so for him to leave will be difficult to get used to, Jamo has helped me massively with management, giving me advice from a players point of view over the years we have worked together and I am sure I will still pick up the phone in the future and seek his advice.
He has been and remains an exceptional talent on the field and one of the best I’ve ever played with and managed. I’m sure everyone who knows him would agree with me given his size ! Ha ha but above all this however, he is truly a great person.
Jamo I wish nothing but success for you and yours in what comes next in your career or in life itself, we will all miss you around the Traeth and I hope you won’t be a stranger.

Cheers for Everything ‘big boy’

Canslo’r Tymor / The cancellation of the season

Yn dilyn cyhoeddiad Y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed fod tymor Yr Ardal League North wedi’i ganslo mae rheolwr Craig Papirnyk wedi rhyddau’r datganiad isod:

Following the FAW’s announcement that the Ardal Leagues’ season has been cancelled, manager Craig Papirnyk has reeleased the following statement:

“It was extremely disappointing getting news last week that the 20/21 season was to be cancelled, we are living in unprecedented times, a pandemic that has affected the nation in so many ways and now has taken away our football for the year.
“Selfishly, it is a difficult one to understand as the hope that tiers 1 and 2 might resume leaves a question to wonder, why we couldn’t as well, but at least we know now and can put to bed any hope that we may have had.
“Plans now turn to next season and rebuilding and focusing on preparing a squad that can go on to win the league and get the club promoted back to Tier 2.
“I would like to thank everyone involved with the club, for continuing to support us during these difficult times and I hope you all remain safe and before long we will all be back watching the football at the Traeth.”

Paul Pritch yn mynd ar fenthyg / Keeper goes on loan

Paul Pritchard Gyda tymor Port dod I ben heb yr un gic mae Paul Pritchard, golwr a chapten y clwb, yn ymuno â Llangefni am weddill y tymor hwn.
Os bydd y sefyllfa COVID-19 yn gwella mae gan y clwb o’r Cymru North dal obeithion I chwarae tymor wedi’I gwtogi I 15 gêm.
Wrth siarad gyda gwefan ‘Chwaraeon y Gogs’ dywedodd Paul, “Mae’n siomedig iawn fod tymor Porthmadog wedi’i ganslo sy’n golygu na fyddaf yn chwarae iddynt y tymor hwn. Medrai ddim diolch digon i Craig Papirnyk am adael imi ymuno â Llangefni a weddill y tymor.

Y diweddara’ ar ôl y llifogydd / Latest following the recent flooding.

Mae y dwr wedi cilio bellach ac mae llawer o'r gwaith clirio a glanhau wedi ei gwblhau. Er hynny mae llawer dal i'w wneud. Yn bennaf mae gwaith atgyweirio yn y clwb cymdeithasol gan gynnwys atgyweirio sgyrtins a edrych os oes unrhyw niwed wedi ei wneud i’r llwyfan. Mae yr hen garped gwlyb a brwnt wedi ei dynnu i fyny ac mae prisiau am un newydd yn cael eu casglu. Mae difrod i loriau yr ystafell cymorth cyntaf a toiledau cefnogwyr hefyd yn cael ei prisio.
Mae’r cyfarwyddwyr yn ymwybodol bod hyn am fod yn broblem gynyddol i’r clwb yn sgil newid hinsawdd ac felly maent yn edrych yn fwy hir dymor yn ogystal. Mae gwaith yn mynd rhagddo i brisio amddiffynfeydd i ddrysau y clwb cymdeithasol a’r ystafelloedd newid, codi lefel y llawr yn y sied tractors a sawl prosiect arall. Mae y clwb hefyd yn datblygu ceisiadau am grantiau ariannol i helpu gyda’r gwaith gan UEFA, Cyngor Chwaraeon Cymru ac eraill yn y gobaith y gall y gwaith gael ei gwblhau cyn dechrau tymor 2021/22.
Hoffai y clwb ddiolch o galon i bob un sydd wedi cefnogi y clwb yn ariannol neu yn ymarferol yn ystod y cyfnod anodd yma, ac edrychwn ymlaen yn eiddgar i gael gemau i lawr yn y Traeth tymor nesaf.

The water has receded and much of the clearing and cleaning work has been completed. Despite this much remains to be done. Most urgently, much needs to be done in the social club including replacing skirtings and surveying whether any damage was done to the stage. The old wet and mucky carpet has been raised and prices for a replacement are being sought. Prices are also being obtained for replacement flooring for the first aid room and spectator toilets.
The Directors are keenly aware that this will be an ongoing problem for the club in the years to come in light of dramatic climate change and therefore are looking at the longer term. They have identified a number of improvements that will alleviate future flooding, these include flood defences for doors throughout the stadium, raising the floor in the tractor shed etc. Prices are being obtained for these projects. The club is also putting together applications for grant aid to assist with these developments to UEFA, Sports Council of Wales and others in the hope that all work will be completed by the start of the 2021/22 season.
The Directors would also like to take this opportunity to thank all individuals and organisations who have supported the club financially or otherwise over the past few weeks. Following yesterday’s announcement we look forward eagerly to the start of next season and hope to have put the past desperate months behind us and can concentrate on enjoying the football at the Traeth once again.

CBDC / FAW Mae’r Gymdeithas Bêl-droed wedi rhyddau y datganiad fod Bwrdd y Gynghrair Genedlaethol wedi penderfynu “dylai’r cystadlaethau canlynol ar gyfer 2020/21 gael eu canslo

Cynghrair Ieuenctid CBDC”
Daw’r newyddion yma a diwedd i unrhyw obeithion gwantan o weld gêmau yn yr Ardal North yn ystod 2020/21
Er nad oedd y penderfyniad yn annisgwyl mae’n dal yn siom enfawr i’r Bwrdd, y Rheolwyr, Chwaraewyr a Chefnogwyr.
Yn dilyn siomiant y tymor diwetha’ roedd pawb wedi edrych ymlaen at geisio sicrhau adennill ein lle yn yr ail haen. Bellach ni fydd hyn yn bosib a rhaid cynllunio ar gyfer tymor 2020/21.

The FAW has released the following statement that “the National League Board has decided that the following league competitions should be cancelled for the 2020/21 season:
Ardal Leagues
Cymru Premier Development League
FAW Reserve League
FAW Youth League “
This brings to an end any lingering hope that we would see some Ardal North football in the 2020/21 season, however depleted that season might be.
Though the decision was not unexpected. it remains a huge disappointment for the Board, Management, Players and Supporters.
Following last season’s performances, all had been looking forward to making a tilt at a quick return to Tier 2.That now will not be possible and planning will now have to turn to the 2021/22 season.

Ar eu wefan chwaraeon ardderchog ‘Chwaraeon y Gogs’, achosodd Dave Jones gynnwrf ymysg cefnogwyr Port wrth iddo ddewis yr XI gorau erioed CPD Porthmadog.
Dyma’r ddewis a hynny o gyfnod weddol fodern.

Richard Harvey, John Gwynfor, Mike Foster, Rhys Roberts, Ryan Davies, Jay Gibbs, Gareth Jones Evans, Nigel Barry, Gareth Parry, Nigel Smith Paul Roberts.
Byddai’n dipyn o dîm, gyda digon o dalent i fod yn gystadleuol ar lefel uchel.
Ond yr eiliad yr ymddangosodd yr enwau y rhai na gynhwyswyd yn y rhestr oedd yn denu’r sylw. Y lleisiau yn gofyn beth am Marc Lloyd Williams neu Aled Owen, Dave Taylor, Geraint ‘Siops’ Jones, Steve Pugh, Colin Saynor, Steve ‘Psycho’ Smith, Chris Banks neu Lee Webber? Ac ymlaen a mlaen aiff yr enwau ar hyd lwybrau Aberstalwm.
Diolch am fwrw golwg yn ôl dros ysgwydd amser Dave, gan ein hatgoffa o’r talentau a gawsom ei gwylio ar Y Traeth.
Yn y darn cynhwyswyd hefyd tîm a ddewiswyd gan y cefnogwr brwd, Treflyn Jones yn ôl yn 2016. Yma, cynhwyswyd chwaraewyr hefyd o gyfnod cynt. Dyma ni:
Gareth Hughes, Haydn Jones, Mike Foster, Aled Owen, Mel Charles, Roly Evans, Jimmy McCarthy, Gwyn Williams, Colin Gwinneth, J O Williams, Steve Wooddin Subs: Adrian Jones (Twm), Ifor Pritchard (GK), Pat Laverty.
Y gair olaf i Dave ei hun, “Y cyfan lawr i farn bersonol, neb yn iawn a neb yn anghywir.”

Dave Jones has caused something of a stir amongst Port supporters after naming his ‘All-time CPD PORTHMADOG XI’ on his excellent Grassroots North Wales Sports Website.
Here is his selection which he describes as ‘modern-day’ in time-scale.

Richard Harvey, John Gwynfor, Mike Foster, Rhys Roberts, Ryan Davies, Jay Gibbs, Gareth Jones Evans, Nigel Barry, Gareth Parry, Nigel Smith Paul Roberts.
That would be some team and certainly capable of holding its own at a high level.
But of course as soon as the names appeared on the website, the omitted names were springing readily to mind. What about Marc Lloyd Williams, Aled Owen, Dave Taylor, Geraint ‘Siops’ Jones, Steve Pugh, Colin Saynor, Lee Webber and on and on goes the nostagia trip. Thanks Dave for reminding us of the wealth of talent that has graced the Traeth over the years.
Dave Jones also included a team chosen by Port supporter Treflyn Jones (in 2016) which includes stars of an earlier vintage. Here it is:
Gareth Hughes, Haydn Jones, Mike Foster, Aled Owen, Mel Charles, Roly Evans, Jimmy McCarthy, Gwyn Williams, Colin Gwinneth, J O Williams, Steve Wooddin Subs: Adrian Jones (Twm), Ifor Pritchard (GK), Pat Laverty
Last word to Dave himself, “All about opinions, none right, none wrong.”
