Port v Rhyl 25/09/05 (English)

Y tymor hyd yma
Credaf ein bod wedi chwarae yn llawer iawn gwell na awgrymir gan ein safle yn y gynghrair. Gydar system rydym yn ei ddefnyddio, rym wedi creu digon o gyfleoedd ond yn aml maer ergyd neur peniad yn methu darganfod y rhwyd. Maent yn cael eu harbed neu yn methu o drwch blewyn. Byddwn yn poeni mwy pe na baem yn creu cyfleoedd. Mae ein chwarae yn adeiladol ac yn dda. Heblaw am gm TNS, rym wedi creu fwy o gyfleoedd nan gwrthwynebwyr yn y dair gm arall a heblaw am un neu ddau o benderfyniadau amheus gan y dyfarnwr ynglyn r ciciau or smotyn yn y gm yn erbyn Bangor, gallem yn hawdd fod wedi ennill. Mae llawer syn gysylltiedig r gynghrair yn awgrymu fod yna syndrom clybiau mawr yn bodoli ymysg dyfarnwyr ac efallai fod pwynt ganddynt. Dal yn bositif maer chwaraewyr wrth ymarfer a maent yn gweithion galed i gywiro pethau.

Y Garfan
Yn anffodus bydd James Parry allan am ddau fis gyda thrafferthion ligament a gyda Mark Williams yn symud i Gaersws a Jonathan Peris yn mynd ir coleg, maer garfan braidd yn denau. Ond rydym yn gweithio i ddod ag un neu ddau o chwaraewyr i mewn ac yn gobeithio cwblhaur trefniadau yn ystod yr wythnos neu ddwy nesaf. Rydym yn edrych ar gemau yn barhaus gan fonitro chwaraewyr. Bu Osian a mi yn dilyn hynt a helynt Rhys Roberts ers tri thymor tan ein bod yn teimlo ei fod yn barod. Dengys ei berfformiadau mai rwan oedd yr amser iawn iw gyflwyno. Rhaid dod r chwaraewr iawn ir garfan ar yr amser iawn.

Cynghrair dan-21
Roedd yn siom gweld fod y rhan fwyaf o gmau yn y gynghrair dan-21 heb gael eu chwarae. Rhaid imi ddweud nad ydy hyn yn syndod.Cofiaf am Gynghrair dan Lif Oleuadau Gogledd Cymru yn gweithredu ar yr un llinellau a phrofodd yn waith caled iawn cadw diddordeb chwaraewyr a chlybiau yn y gystadleuaeth. Maer syniad o roi profiad i chwaraewyr ifanc mewn gmau safonol yn dda iawn ond nid ywn jc teithio i Aberystwyth, TNS neu Airbus ar ganol wythnos. Mae hyn yn ddigon anodd ir tm cyntaf heb sn am y tm dan-21. Bydd yn rhaid rhoi mwy o feddwl ir cynllun. Efallai fod hin bosib trefnu ar linellau Gwynedd a Chlwyd. Nid yw gemau yn erbyn Bangor a Chaernarfon yn rhy ddrwg a gyda Rhyl, Airbus a Chei Conna mewn grwp arall byddain torri lawr ar deithio. Dewis arall fyddai chwaraer gmau ar ddydd Sadwrn efor gmau Uwch Gynghrair. Gydar fformat presennol, maen anodd gweld pethaun dod i fwcl heb lawer o ymdrech gan y clybiau. Amser a ddengys os ydyr ewyllys da ynan bodoli.

Torfeydd
I gloi, maen dda gweld y torfeydd sydd wedi dod ir gmau adref y tymor hwn. Dywed ystadegydd y clwb fod y torfeydd i fyny 20% ar yr un gmau y tymor diwethaf. Mae yna awyrgylch dda iawn wedi bod yn y gmau a gobeithio y gwnaiff barhau felly.

Daliwch i gredu.
Port v Rhyl 25/09/05

The season so far
I believe that we have played far better than our league position suggests. We have created chances with the system we are using, but all too often the final shot or header does not find the net. They are saved or they go narrowly wide or whatever. I would be far more concerned if we were not creating the chances. The build up play has been good. Apart from the TNS game we have created more chances than the opposition in the other three games. And apart from a couple of debatable refereeing decisions, in the Bangor game surrounding the two penalties, we could easily have won. Many involved with the league have suggested that there is something of a big club syndrome with referees maybe they have a point! The players are still positive in training and are working hard to put things right.

The Squad
On the player front, unfortunately James Parry will be out for two months with ligament damage and, with Mark Williams moving to Caersws and Jonathan Peris moving away to college, the squad is a little depleted. We are working to bring a couple of players in and we will hopefully be able to finalise things in the next couple of weeks. We are constantly watching matches and monitoring players. Osian and I have been keeping close tabs on Rhys Roberts for three seasons until we felt he was ready. His performances this season have proved that now was the right time to introduce him. We need to bring in the right player at the right time.

Under-21 League
It was disappointing to see the non-performance of the Under-21 league in midweek but I have to say that I was not surprised. I can recall when we ran the North Wales Floodlit League along much the same lines and it proved hard work to keep the players and clubs interested in the competition. The idea of giving young players good quality matches to improve is great, but travelling midweek to Aberystwyth or TNS or Airbus is no joke. It is hard enough for the first team let alone the Under 21s. I believe that more thought needs to go into it. Maybe the matches could be arranged along Gwynedd and Clwyd area lines. Matches against Bangor and Caernarfon are not too bad and with Rhyl, Airbus and Connahs Quay in another group travelling would be cut down. Alternatively maybe matches could be played on a Saturday but in conjunction with the Welsh Premier League games. With the current format it is hard to see how it is going to work without a great deal of effort from the clubs, whether that good will is there only time will tell.

Gates
Finally it is good to see the good gates at the home matches this season. Our club statistician tells me that the gates are up by about 20% on the same matches last season. There has certainly been a good atmosphere at matches and long may it continue.

Thanks for your support.
