Cwpan y Gynghrair Rownd Cyn Derfynol
Rhaid dweud fy mod in siomedig iawn gyda chanlyniad gm nos Fawrth. Dros y ddwy gymal, rwyn credun bod ni wedi creu mwy o gyfleoedd ond cawsom ein curo gan ddwy esiampl o sgorio or radd flaenaf cic rydd Gary Lloyd yn y cymal cyntaf ac ergyd wych Richard Kennedy yma nos Fawrth. Dros y ddwy gymal, roedd eu cyfartaledd hwy o goliau i gyfleoedd yn well na ni ond cawsom ein sefyllfaoedd da yn y ddwy gm hefyd ond wedi methu manteisio arnynt. Hawdd iawn y medrem fod wedi cyrraedd y rownd derfynol rhagor na Chaerfyrddin. Yn y dair gm a chwaraeom yn eu herbyn eleni, rym wedi eu curo a chael gm gyfartal ar y Traeth a dim ond cic rydd wych an gorchfygodd yn y gm arall. Nid yw hyn yn record ddrwg i glwb bach fel Port.

Y Gwpan Cenedlaethol
I danlinellu ein gwelliant eleni, bydd rhaid inni fod yn un or clybiau yn y Gwpan Genedlaethol y tymor nesaf. I wneud hyn, teimlaf fod angen pedair buddugoliaeth arnom a hefyd un neu ddwy o gmau cyfartal. Or wyth gm syn weddill, rhaid inni chwarae pedwar or pum clwb ar waelod yr adran a hefyd pedwar or pum clwb uchaf. Anodd darogan o le y daw y bedair buddugoliaeth ond, gan fod nifer or clybiau eraill sydd hefyd yn cystadlu am le yn y Gwpan Cenedlaethol yn chwarae ei gilydd, gallai hyn fod yn gymorth inni. Rhaid targedu gorffen yn y deg uchaf os ydym am danlinellu y cynnydd a wnaed yn ystod y tymor hwn.

Ian Rush
Rwyf wedi bod yn dilyn y datblygiadau yng nghlwb Caer gyda diddordeb yn ystod yr wythnos. Cynigiwyd pecyn ariannol i Ian Rush a Mark Aizlewodd er mwyn iddynt adael y clwb ond gwrthod wnaethant. Maen siŵr nad oes yna ddigon o arian gan y clwb i gael eu gwared hwy. Mae eu sefyllfa yn debyg iawn i lawer o glybiau eraill yng Nghynghrair Lloegr gyda Chadeiryddion a byrddau yn mynnu llwyddiant yn syth heb roi cyfle i reolwyr ddatblygu chwaraewyr a rhoi stamp eu hun ar y clwb. Ychwanegwch at hynny y sefyllfa lle fod dau ou chwaraewyr gorau wediu gwerthu, gan gynnwys Danny Collins i Sunderland. Cafodd Rush ei daro o ddau gyfeiriad chwaraewyr gorau yn gadael a dim arian i brynu rhai newydd. Maen rhyfeddol gymaint o ran mae lwc yn chwarae ym mhl-droed. Tra fod rhai yn cael bwcedi ohono, mae eraill yn cael ychydig iawn. Efallai mair rheolwyr mawr sydd hefyd yn cael y lwc i gyd.

League Cup Semi Final
I must say I was very disappointed with the outcome of Tuesday nights game. Over the two games I believe we created more chances but we were undone by two pieces of top class finishing the Gary Lloyd free-kick in the first-leg and the Richard Kennedy screamer here on Tuesday. Over the two legs their ratio of goals to chances was better, but we had good situations in both matches we did not capitalise upon. We could easily have been the final instead of Carmarthen. In the three matches we have played against them this season we have beaten them and drawn with them at home while a great free-kick has beaten us in the other game. Not a bad record for a small club like Port.

Premier Cup
To underline the progress we have made this season, we really do need to qualify for the FAW Premier Cup next season. To do that, I feel we need 4 wins and maybe a draw or two as well. Of the eight games left, we have to play four of the bottom five clubs and four of the five top clubs. There is no telling from where the four wins might come but a number of the other clubs vying for places in the Premier Cup need to play each other so that might help us. We need to target a top ten finish to underline the improvements made this season.

Ian Rush
I have been following developments at Chester City with interest this week. Ian Rush and Mark Aizlewood have been offered severance package by Chester to leave but have declined. Probably Chester dont have the money to sack them. Their situation is typical of many in the English League. Chairmen and boards demand quick results and managers are often not given the chance to bring their own players in and to put their stamp on things. Added to that, Chester have sold two of their best players this season including Danny Collins to Sunderland , so Rush has been hit both ways, his best players leaving but limited funds to bring new ones in. It is amazing the role luck plays in football. Some managers have it by the bucketful while others get very little, maybe the great managers are the lucky ones.
