Viv yn gadael Porthmadog / Viv Leaves Porthmadog

Saesneg / English

Viv WilliamsDyddiaun unig ar l cadw Porthmadog yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru mewn amgylchiadau pur ddramatig, mae Viv Williams wedi penderfynu dod i gyfnod gyda Port i ben ar l naw mlynedd fel chwaraewr, is-reolwr a rheolwr.
Cytuno wnes i fod yn rheolwr mewn gofal hyd at ddiwedd y tymor ac er bod y dasg wedi profin anoddach na ddychmygais rym wedi llwyddo i gwblhaur gwaith a chadwr clwb yn yr Uwch Gynghrair. Pan ofynnodd Phil (Jones) i mi ddod yn l i helpur clwb, roeddwn wedi cael cynnig i reoli clwb arall ond, mor bwysig ac agos oedd fy nghysylltiaid gyda phawb ym Mhorthmadog, roedd yn amhosib dweud na.
Dwi mor falch dros Phil ac hefyd y cyfarwyddwyr gweithgar fel Gerallt, Dafydd, Nigel ac Ian sydd yn rhoi gymaint ir clwb. Dwin hapus hefyd dros Meirion a Carwyn a Dilwyn ac ir hogiau syn gweithion galed ar y wefan ac i bawb sydd wedi cefnogir clwb adref ac oddi cartref ar rhai sydd wedi bod yn rhan or ymdrech i godi arian a chadwr clwb i fynd.
Soniodd Viv am y problemau a wynebodd wrth geisio codir clwb diffyg ffitrwydd y chwaraewyr yn y dechrau ar anallu i arwyddo chwaraewyr oherwydd y ffenest drosglwyddo.
Hyd yn oed pan agorodd y ffenest yn Ionawr, roedd yn anodd dod chwaraewyr i mewn. Nid ywn hawdd perswadio chwaraewyr i ymuno chlwb mewn trafferthion. Roedd y pellter hefyd yn rhwystr i gael y chwaraewyr oedden ni eisiau i gryfhaur garfan.
Phil JonesY peth a blesiodd Viv fwyaf am ei gyfnod yn Porthmadog oedd y cyfle a lwyddodd roi i chwaraewyr ifanc o Wynedd a Mn.
Rhoddwyd cyfle i sawl chwaraewr a oedd wediu taflu or neilltu gan glybiau eraill gan weithio gyda nhw au datblygu. Datblygwyd nifer yn ystod y cyfnod yn y Cymru Alliance a bellach maent yn gnewyllyn tm a allai rwan gael cychwyn newydd a mynd ymlaen i wneud yn dda y tymor nesaf.
Mae Port ymysg y goreuon yn y gynghrair yn y ffordd maer clwb yn cael ei redeg gyda sylfaen iawn yn y gymuned a heb fod yn ddibynnol ar unrhyw Mr Benefactor sydd wedyn yn tynnu yn l ei gefnogaeth.
Credai Viv y bydd Port yn cael eu plesio gan safon yr ymgeiswyr pan y byddant yn hysbysebu am reolwr newydd.
A byddaf ond yn rhy hapus i wneud cyswllt gyda phwy bynnag sydd yn cael ei apwyntio er mwyn iddo setlo i mewn a dod i adnabod y chwaraewyr. Nid oes unrhyw anghytundeb wedi bod ac ystyriaf fy hun yn ffrind i bawb yng nghlwb Porthmadog ac edrychaf ymlaen at ymweld r Traeth i wylio gmau yn y dyfodol.

Viv Leaves Porthmadog

Viv WilliamsOnly days after keeping Porthmadog in the WPL in truly dramatic circumstances, Viv Williams has decided to call it a day on his 9 year stint with the club as player, assistant manager and manager.
I only agreed to take the job in a caretaker role to the end of the season and though the task proved more difficult than I had imagined we have achieved what we set out to do and have kept the club in the Welsh Premier. When Phil (Jones) asked me to help the club I had already been offered a managers role with another club but such was my relationship with Port and with the people at the club that I could not turn them down.
I am so glad for Phils sake and for directors like Gerallt, Dafydd, Nigel and Ian who work so hard for the club. I am pleased for Meirion, Carwyn and Dilwyn, for those who work hard running the website and for all those who have supported the club home and away and have been a part of the money raising effort which has kept the club going.
Viv spoke of the difficulties he encountered in attempting to revive the clubs fortunes, of the lack of fitness when he arrived and the inability to sign players.
Even when the January window opened, it was very difficult to bring players in. It is not easy to persuade players to join a club that is struggling. Distance also proved to be a stumbling block when we tried to strengthen the squad.
Phil JonesThe thing which pleased Viv most about his time at Porthmadog was the opportunity that he was able to give to young players from Gwynedd and Anglesey.
In many instances, we gave opportunities to young players who had been discarded by other clubs and worked with them. Many were developed as players in the Cymru Alliance period and are now the nucleus of a team which could be given a fresh start and do well next season.
Port is one of the best run clubs in the league with a broad base in the community and not depending on a Mr Benefactor whose support could easily be withdrawn.
He believed that when Port advertise for a manager they will be pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the applications they will receive.
I will only be too happy to liaise with anyone appointed to secure a smooth transfer, enabling the new manager to settle in and get to know the players. There has been no fall out and I consider myself a friend to all at Porthmadog and look forward to visiting the Traeth for games in the future.
