Gwobrau diwedd tymor
End of season Presentations

Saesneg / English

Daeth y diwrnod o ail-fyw buddugoliaeth 1956 i ben gyda gwobrwyo’r tîm presennol mewn seremoni fer i gydnabod tymor arall pan welwyd datblygiad pellach yn hanes y clwb.

’Roedd y dewis o chwaraewr y flwyddyn y cefnogwyr yn gryn sioc!! Pwy fyddai’n dychmygu mai Les Davies fyddai’n cipio’r wobr! Doedd dim cysylltiad rhwng y penderfyniad a phleidlais bloc ei ffans personol! Ond o ddifri, mae Les wedi cael tymor rhagorol ac yn llawn haeddu’r wobr a’r clod.

Dewis y chwaraewyr am eleni oedd eu capten poblogaidd Lee Webber a byddai neb yn anghytuno â’r dewis hwn o ystyried ei arweinyddiaeth ar y cae a’i ymrwymiad llwyr i’r achos. Pwy arall fyddai’n teithio’r holl ffordd o Gaint i chwarae mewn gêm ganol wythnos ar Y Traeth? Lee, ynghyd a Richard Harvey, ydy’r unig rai sydd wedi chwarae ym mhob un o gemau’r clwb eleni. Dywedodd Lee wrth dderbyn ei wobr fod y clwb wedi dangos datblygiad eleni eto ac o gymharu â’r cyfnod pan ymunodd gyntaf â’r clwb mae camu breision wedi’u cymryd i greu clwb gwerth chweil.

Carl Owen, gyda 17 o goliau yn y gynghrair a’r gwpan, a dderbyniodd y wobr fel prif sgoriwr y clwb. Ar wahân i’r anaf a dderbyniodd yn rhan olaf y tymor, byddai’n sicr o fod wedi croesi’r 20 o goliau am y tymor.

I ddiweddu, cyflwynwyd gwobr arbennig i Mike Foster i gydnabod ei gamp yn cyrraedd y nod o 300 o gemau yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru.

A day when the team of 1956 was well remembered ended with the end of season’s awards to the present team in recognition of another season of progress for the club.

The supporters’ player of the year was quite a surprise!! Who would have thought that it would turn out to be Les Davies? I’m sure that it was nothing to do with a block vote by his growing fan club! Seriously though, Les has enjoyed a remarkable season and well deserves the award.

The players’ player of the year was the popular skipper Lee Webber and few would argue with that -given his excellent on the field leadership and unrivalled commitment to the cause. Who else would travel all the way from Kent to play in a midweek match? Lee also, along with Richard Harvey, played in every league and cup game this season. The articulate skipper then gave an excellent summary of the remarkable progress the club has made in the period since he first joined the club.

Carl Owen with 17 league and cup goals received the award of top scorer. But for a nagging injury in the latter part of the season he would surely have reached 20 goals.

Finally a special award was made to Mike Foster in recognition of his achievement reaching the 300 mark of appearances in the Welsh Premier League.

Gareth Williams.
