Viv yn edrych ymlaen am dymor 2005/06
Viv looks forward to 2005/06 season

Caernarfon and Denbigh Herald

Saesneg / English

Gydar tymor newydd ar fin dechrau, mae Viv wedi bod yn edrych ymlaen gan ddweud mai yn y cwpanau mae gobaith pennaf Port am lwyddiant eleni.

"Y cwpan ydyr targed realistig inni eleni gan ddechrau gyda chwpan y gynghrair lle gyrhaeddom y rownd gyn-derfynol y llynedd a gobeithio gallwn wneud rhywbeth tebyg neu gwell eto.

"Ar ddiwrnod da medrwn guro unrhyw un ond nid yw ein chwarae yn y gynghrair yn ddigon cyson"

Nid ywn disgwyl ennill y gynghrair oherwydd diffyg cysondeb y garfan.

"Maer hogiau yn aeddfedu ac os allwn ddal i ddatblygu fel cynt bydd gobaith i wneud yn well nar tymor diwethaf.

"Da nin ceisio gweithio ar yr ochr sgorio on gm gan fydd hyn yn sicrhau ein bod yn symud i fynyr tabl."

Maen hapus gydar chwaraewyr newydd ar ffordd maent wedi chwarae yn y gmau cyfeillgar.

"Da nin gwybod am Richard Harvey yn barod ac mae Rhys Roberts wedi edrych yn dda tra fod Les Davies yn chwaraewr amryddawn yn y blaen ac ond yn ugain oed ac yn barod iawn i ddysgu.

Er fod y clwb yn debyg o golli chwaraewr ifanc addawol sef Jonathan Peris sydd ar ei ffordd ir brifysgol, gwl Viv fod yna chwaraewyr ifanc eraill yn curo wrth y drws.

"Mae Ywain Gwynedd, Lloyd Edwards a Matthew Webber yn chwaraewyr ifanc addawol. Da nin ffodus iawn fod yna chwaraewyr mor dda yn dod or ail dm."

English

Viv has been looking forward to the new season and says that Ports main hope for success this season lies in the cup competitions.

"The cups are the most realistic targets for us this season beginning with the league cup where we reached the semi-final last season and hopefully we can something similar or even better this season.

"On a good day we can beat anyone but in the league its consistency were looking for.

"We are not going to win the league but we are going to do our best to get up there. The lads are older and more mature now and if we progress as we have done we will do better than last season.

"Were trying to work more on the goal scoring side of things and if we can score more goals we will move up the league.

He is happy with the performances of the new signings in the pre-season games.

"We know already about keeper Richard Harvey, and Rhys Roberts has looked good while Les Davies is a very good player who can play anywhere in forward positions. He is only 20 and very willing to learn."

Though the club is likely to lose a very promising player in Jonathan Peris who is on his way to university there are several others knocking at the door.

"Ywain Gwynedd, Lloyd Edwards and Matthew Webber are promising young players. Were very lucky because weve got some decent players in the reserve team"
