Barn Cefnogwr / Fan's View - Port v Grange Quins

Saesneg / English

Tm ag ychydig iawn o debygrwydd ir un y cafodd ei chwalu 7-0 gan Derwyddon Cefn y Sul diwethaf a ddaeth ir Traeth gan lwyddo i rwystror llif o goliau yr oedd llawer yn ei ddisgwyl.

Dim ond 5 or Cwins a deithiodd i Blas Kynaston a ymddangosodd ar Y Traeth gydar rhai hynny, nad oedd taith ar y Sul ir gogledd pell yn apelio fawr iddynt, wedi hychwanegu eu henwau at y rhestr y tro yma.

Un ychwanegiad pwysig ir tm oedd y golwr Gareth Williams a wnaeth nifer o arbediadau a gadwodd ei dm yn y gm.

Doedd y perfformiad hwn ddim yr un gorau gan Port y tymor hwn. Ar adegau, roedd yn ymddangos eu bod yn cael eu tynnu i chwarae ar yr un lefel r ymwelwyr ac weithiau roeddynt yn euog o chwarae ddigon blr.

I fod yn deg ir Cwins, cawsant gyfnodau gwell yn ystod yr hanner cyntaf gan greu problemau i Port.

Ychydig yn ffodus oedd y gl gyntaf gyda Gareth Parry yn manteisio wrth gael ail gyfle cyn sgorio.

Roedd yr ail gan Carl Owen yn ergyd hollol berffaith gan grafu dan y trawst ir rhwyd neu ar y llaw arall yn ergyd ffodus.

Yr esboniad cyntaf fyddai Carlo yn mynd amdano a pwy ydw i, i anghytuno?!

Gwersylla yn hanner Y Cwins or cae gwnaeth Port am y rhan helaethaf or ail hanner ar ymwelwyr yn creu ychydig iawn ond ni lwyddwyd i ychwanegu at y sgr tan y 10 munud olaf.

Sgoriodd Ritchie Owen y drydedd gydag ergyd dda drwyr amddiffyn cyn i Les Davies benio ir rhwyd, o flaen ei ffans niferus, iw gwneud yn bedair.

Golyga hyn fod y sgr yn adlewyrchiad gwell or chwarae yn ystod y prynhawn.

Rhaid rhoi clod ir ieuenctid sydd wedi codi lleisiau dros y clwb drwyr tymor gydar siantio di-baid. Ni welwyd y math yma o gefnogi ar Y Traeth ers blynyddoedd -a hyn yn ei wneud yn beth iw groesawu yn wresog. Daliwch ati hogiau!

Un dyn nad oedd yn haeddu canmoliaeth oedd y dyfarnwr Kerry Morgan o Bontarddulais a ddangosodd wyth cerdyn melyn ac un cerdyn coch mewn gm a oedd ym mhell o fod yn fudr.

Nid oedd fawr o ddadlau ynglyn i benderfyniad i yrru Frank Oppong or cae am ddefnyddioi ddyrnau ond roedd rhai oi benderfyniadau, fel dangos cerdyn i Carl Owen ai gyhuddo o luchioi hun ar lawr er mwyn cael cic or smotyn, yn hurt bost.

Wrth baratoi i wynebur Cwins eto byddant yn ymwybodol or posibilrwydd o wynebu tm tra gwahanol, yn cynnwys chwaraewyr nad oedd yn barod i deithio ir gogledd ond yn barod i ymddangos yn y brif ddinas. Dylai Port ennill eto, ond ni fyddant yn cymryd dim yn ganiataol.

Iwan Gareth.

Fan's View - Port v Grange Quins

A Cardiff Grange Quins side baring little resemblance to the side thumped 7-0 at Newi the previous Sunday came to Y Traeth and managed to hold off the goal avalanche many had expected.

Only 5 of the Quins present at Plas Kynaston were on show at y Traeth, with some of the players who hadnt fancied the Sunday jaunt to North Wales adding their names to the team sheet.

One addition to the team was keeper Gareth Williams who made numerous saves to keep his side in the game.

This was not one of Ports best performances this season. At various intervals they seemed to be dragged down to play at the Quins level and were on occasion guilty of sloppy play.

Fair play to Grange Quins - they did have their spells in the first half, and at times they created problems for Port.

Ports opener was a tad lucky - Gareth Parry finding the net on the re-bound.

Carl Owens second was either a superb inch-perfect lob over the keeper scraping just under the bar, or a bit of a fluke.

Carlo would probably go for the first explanation, so who am I to question?!

Port were camped in the Quins half for most of the second half, as the visitors created very little, however Port failed to add to their score until the last 10 minutes.

Ritchie Owen scored the third with a good strike from a crowded box, before Les Davies headed home un-marked to make it four in front of his many fans.

These goals meant the result better resembled the balance of play.

I must give mention to the many youngsters who have been in fine voice all season with their non-stop chanting. We havent seen this kind of support at Y Traeth for many years which makes it all the more welcome. Keep it going lads!

However, one man not deserving of such praise was referee Kerry Morgan of Pontarddulais who handed out 8 yellow cards and one red card in a game that wasnt all that dirty.

While I wouldnt question his decision to give Frank Oppong his marching orders for using his fists, some of his other decisions, like carding Carl Owen for allegedly diving, were ridiculous.

As Port prepare to face the Quins again, they know they could face a very different team with players who might not want to travel up to north Wales available on home territory. Port should win again, but they wont be taking anything for granted.

Iwan Gareth.
