Barn Cefnogwr - Gemau Aberystwyth / Fan's View - Aberystwyth Matches

Saesneg / English

Ni chafodd Viv ac Osian yr anrheg yr oeddent wedi ei dymuno gan Sin Corn ar ddydd Gwyl San Steffan er fod pethau wedi cychwyn yn dda ar Goedlan y Parc.

Sgoriodd Gareth Caughter gl yn y munud cyntaf i Port a nhw oedd yn pwyso am y ddeng munud cyntaf ond wedyn aeth pob dim ffordd Aberystwyth.

Amddiffyn gwan oedd ar fai am gl gyntaf Aberystwyth ac yn dilyn hyn cafwyd ergyd ardderchog gan Luke Sherbon o 25 llathen. Arwyddodd y goliau yma fod y gm drosodd i bob pwrpas.

Unwaith eto roedd absenoldeb Carl Owen yn creu trafferthion i Port ac ail adroddwyd llawer or gwendidau a ymddangosodd yn Y Trallwng.

Perfformiad diflas oedd hwn gan Port ac ychwanegwyd at y diflastod yma wrth inni daro mochyn daear wrth ymyl Dolgellau ar y ffordd adref!

Felly doedd hi ddim yn Nadolig Llawen i Port a doedd hi ddim chwaith yn Flwyddyn Newydd Dda o safbwynt canlyniadau!

Unwaith eto, amddiffyn llac arweiniodd at fuddugoliaeth Aber gydag absenoldeb Ryan Davies yn achosi problemau yn y cefn.

Oherwydd diffyg penderfyniad yn yr amddiffyn, cafodd Glyndwr Hughes ormod o le a manteisiodd ar hyn i gosbi Port unwaith eto fel yr oedd wedii wneud ar Wyl San Steffan.

Er fod y canlyniad yr un mor siomedig ddydd Llun, roedd llawer o bethau positif iw cymryd or gm hon.

Ar l derbyn y golled yn gynnar yn y gm ar Wyl San Steffan, brwydrodd Port yn y gm ar y Traeth ac wir roeddent yn haeddu o leiaf rannur pwyntiau.

Gall Les Davies ac Ywain Gwynedd fod yn falch iawn ou perfformiadau ddydd Llun wrth i Port ddominyddur ail hanner.

Creodd Port nifer dda o gyfleoedd a dylent fod wedi sicrhau un gl o leiaf gyda Gareth Caughter yn dod yn agos ddwy waith yn hwyr yn y gm.

Gyda Port yn methu manteisio ar eu cyfleoedd wrth bwyso yn drwm am y gl i ddod r sgr yn gyfartal doedd hi ddim yn syndod i Glyndwr Hughes sgorio trwy wrth ymosod a felly sicrhaur dwbl i Aberystwyth.

Gobeithion wir fod y colledion yma yn fwy o arwydd o adfywiad Aberystwyth o dan ofal Brian Coyne nag o argyfwng ar y Traeth.

Maer chwarae, a sicrhaodd tair buddugoliaeth yn olynol i Port yn ystod mis Tachwedd a Rhagfyr, wedi troi yn dair gm heb bwyntiau o gwbl.

Yn waeth fyth, gwrthwynebwyr Port y Sadwrn nesaf ydy TNS ar y Dreflan lle fydd yn anodd iawn osgoi colli am y pedwerydd tro yn olynol. Bydd sicrhau gm gyfartal ddydd Sadwrn yn ganlyniad arbennig o dda.

Iwan Gareth.

Fan's View - Aberystwyth matches

Father Christmas didnt bring Viv and Osian what they had hoped for on Boxing Day, despite an excellent start to things at Park Avenue.

Caughter gave Port an opening minute lead and the visitors continued to press ahead for the opening 10 minutes. After that however, it was all Aberystwyth.

Poor defending gave Aberystwyth their opener, which was soon followed by an excellent strike from 25 yards by Luke Sherbon. These goals signalled game over to all intents and purposes.

The absence of Carl Owen again created trouble for Port, with many of the failings at Welshpool being repeated at Park Avenue.

This was a very depressing performance by Port, which made for a very depressing day for me as we drove into a badger near Dolgellau on the way home from the match!

So it wasnt a Merry Christmas for Port and results-wise it wasnt a happy New Year back at the Traeth either!

Once again it was poor defending that lead to Abers win. The absence of Ryan Davies once again creating problems.

Hesitancy in the Port defence gave room for Glyndwr Hughes, who had taken advantage of slack defending on Boxing Day, to punish Port once again.

However, if the result was just as bad on Monday, there were quite a few positives to take from the match.

Having admitted defeat early on Boxing Day, Port fought their way back in the return match at Y Traeth and really should have had a share of the spoils at the very least.

Les Davies and Ywain Gwynedd can be very proud of their performances on Monday as Port dominated the second half.

There were plenty of chances for Port to have secured at least a goal, with Gareth Caughter being denied twice late on in the match.

With Port failing to convert their chances, while pressing desperately for the equaliser, it wasnt really a surprise when Glyndwr Hughes scored on the counter attack to seal Abers double victory.

I sincerely hope that these defeats were more an indication of the renaissance of Aberystwyth under the stewardship of Brian Coyne, rather than a sign of a real crisis for Port.

The form that gave Port three straight wins in November and December, has now given way to three straight defeats.

What makes this worse is that Ports opponents on Saturday are TNS at Treflan, where it will be difficult for Port to avoid making it four defeats on the bounce. A draw would be a very good result on Saturday.

Iwan Gareth.
